Paul Simpson is still the manager though and will ultimately make the final decision on players. I trust that he won’t sign sub standard shite.

And to be fair when Abbott was here as manager he did sign some pretty decent players for League 1 level. His tactics sadly let him down at times which led to his demise.

Someone is getting a really really good player in Cooke, I can’t get over how it’s fizzled out for him here.

Hope he gets a decent move somewhere. Definitely good enough for a playoff chasing team.

Seems there is an outlier in the local bookies for the next Crawley boss.

John Hackworth. Nope, me neither. Seems he is head coach to St Louis 2...re Wikipedia anyway.

Suddenly Owen Coyle and Nigel Adkins look a smart choice.

I get that it's a big step up for Williamson, for him personally and club wise, but that's one hell of a risk leaving a very comfortable job at Gateshead for a job at our place which has a revolving door policy when it comes to managers.

Grayson turned us down when we were a playoff chasing league one team as he felt he was a ‘championship’ manager. You’re best to keep clear of that arrogant dinosaur, he’ll probably just stick to boring the dogs with his dull commentary on a Saturday afternoon.

technically league 1 now but Rob Edwards strongly linked with Watford. Clearly a huge opportunity and a wage rise but a basket case chairman who'll probably sack him by October regardless of how they are doing.

Portsmouth apparently approached our Dog Richard Hughes but he's staying. Hopefully RE will be aware a season in league one will get him better offers.

Sounds like he coming .

Probably been promised something he won’t get in reality unless he starts well .

I get the appeal of a Championship club but that owner would make me think twice. It amazes me how they’re run they even have the success they do. Just hope Edwards has a good severance package negotiated.

Sounds a bit like when Leeds wanted Darrell Clarke from Rovers. Does he regret not going?...probably

Great move for him, bet they pay out a fortune when they sack managers. Textbook Steve Bruce and Nathan Jones move.

If what Dale Vince has stated is true then very poor from Watford & Edwards. Thus the fact Watford approached Edwards directly and told him not to say anything to Forest Green. It has been going on for at least a week.

Also, think most of his success early season was getting an average bunch of L2 players playing above themselves through creating a team spirit, should imagine that's harder at the higher levels where there's more egos and stars and tactics will be tested more, and we did struggle once everyone else worked us out.

Like any job...you don't tell your current boss that you're going for interviews elsewhere and you don't tell them that you have a new job until its confirmed. He's going to get paid a lot more for a team with scope to get back in the Premier league. Pretty unprofessional statement from that weirdo.
And he’ll be able to have a pre match steak now, happy days.

Thing about Edwards is that if he stays and FGR struggle then he faces the sack and people saying league one was above him. He goes to Watford and Watford struggle people will say they are run by a basket case and no shame on getting the sack there and he is still applying for Champ/ league 1 jobs.

No brainer for him really.

Can’t blame him for going, huge club (in comparison to us). Yeah would be good if he and Watford had been upfront about their negotiations but if he had and then not got the job it might have been a problem. Jim Harvey got sacked for doing something similar with Stevenage except he then didn’t get the job there.

No manager or player that does well is going to stay with us for that long, we’re a stepping stone to bigger things. Good luck to Rob, he won us the league can’t ask much more. He was never gonna stay for long, he’s clearly ambitious.
