Can’t blame him for going, huge club (in comparison to us). Yeah would be good if he and Watford had been upfront about their negotiations but if he had and then not got the job it might have been a problem. Jim Harvey got sacked for doing something similar with Stevenage except he then didn’t get the job there.

No manager or player that does well is going to stay with us for that long, we’re a stepping stone to bigger things. Good luck to Rob, he won us the league can’t ask much more. He was never gonna stay for long, he’s clearly ambitious.
He will be sacked in 6 months.

Watford obviously much bigger club than us, however they are a joke the way they operate.

FGR have far more class than them.

If he’s sacked in 6 months he’ll still earn a lot more just in the pay off then he’d have done staying here, and not have had to do a lot of work to earn it.

I take it you won’t be applauding him if we ever come up against him in the future then ;)

No. Mate, probably not.

FA cup against Watford next season looks juicy though!!

According to someone on our forum (yes, friend of a milkman's brother type of chat) Edwards contract had expired so FGR aren't even going to get compensation. If that's the case, then that's a double kick in the testies.

Then I dont see FGR's problem. Season is over, out of contract.......he can do as he pleases

He was already in talks (behind our backs) with them before the end of the season, this hasn't happened overnight, plus Watford claim he had a clause allowing him to talk to other clubs which suggests he was still under contract here?

Great double standards from Watford, who complained when Everton took Marco Silva from them in similar circumstances.
Cannot argue there!

Its been said the club want a longer term approach and younger squad etc .

But then if we lose a few early games we all know what will happen !

It'll be Fabrizio Ravanelli.

I've heard it's Chally. He wants a get out before Stockers bottle the title. Couldn't get out the changing room quicker when he heard the Pools manager is up for grabs.

I think Dale Vince is being a bit of a drama Queen with his comments, as he should of tied Edwards down to a contract months ago when no one was sniffing .
Who next? Always thought Mark Cooper and Forest Green Rovers were a good fit meself!

Of course this might be the point at which Watford have realised the revolving door of journeyman mostly overseas managers and players hasn't worked and they need a change of direction.

Yes that is the idea ..

But these things don’t always come reality !

Kelty have had a terrific first season in the Scottish league, however, a massive step up from managing them to you. How has the rumour gone down with fans

Joey Barton's odds have shortened to become the next Burnley boss.

They're financially doped and as you say it's a big step up. Another Craig Harrison. Don't think anyone would want him although chairman did seem to say on Tees today that Wild at Halifax is someone we're looking at when asked about him.
