Still no announcement of a new manager at Crawley.

Johnson had a meeting with our supporters Trust and all he said on the matter was we are getting a someone with league experience.

I know it took time to get the announcement out but well done to @Official_STFC senior management team for getting compensation for Lindsey and Day considering there was every chance that they were likely to be told their time was up this week

We already have posters calling him useless!

Not my choice but we have to give the guy a chance imho. A bit of luck and he may be a success for us.

Paying compo when there are other managers available is daft and cements my opinion that Wagmi are not very clever when it comes to business. Paying money out when there is no need stupid and it's not the first time they have done it.

Apparently, Crawley were after him before we played them a few weeks ago. I honestly can’t see what the attraction was. God knows who is making the footballing decisions at Crawley but this one is a whore’s melt.

Gav Gunning and Steve Mildenhall in charge for Swindon on Saturday. Gunning manager for a day and it's Grimsby, his cup final. He must be absolutely buzzing.

Betting on our manager suspended. Apparently Marc Bircham going to be given the gig. Pretty underwhelming if true.

He was at our game vs Stevenage New Year’s Day watching with Andy Hess, I think he’d be worth a punt to be honest.

Why underwhelming? Apart from the fact that he played for QPR I, along with the vast majority of Town fans, know little of him and his coaching career. Still there's always the possibility that Pep might be available should they lose to Southampton tonight

Fantastic news Lindsey has gone some of the most drab football in a long time very much in mark cooper style. Sideways backwards create nothing rinse repeat. Exceptional skills from Clem and co to realise a profit from a basket case who we were stumbling towards paying compensation to get rid. Seemed like a nice guy though who has had truly awful luck on a personal level so I wish him well.

Only downside was it dragged on a bit. Onwards and upwards.

Good luck Crawley you’ll need it.

Focus is now firmly on the return of Charlie at least now he has some hope of some service.

If you know little of him and his coaching career then you've answered your own question. That doesn't equate to him being necessarily a poor appointment on paper and I'll get behind whoever we do choose. For me, looking at the list of 'candidates' I'd personally prefer someone like Artell who initially did a terrific job at Crewe.

What's the Pep comment all about?

Most were underwhelmed when Wellens was appointed. Bircham would seem an odd choice with a few, seemingly, more qualified candidates available. Jody Morris could be good. Can’t believe Artell hasn’t even been interviewed.

I’m a bit twitchy.

Yeah but Pep might be available according to Bellend Maximus apparently. Incidentally I'd heard about Morris before the Bircham chat kicked off.

Jon Brady, Colin Calderwood, Marc Richards and James Alger signed new deals.

They’ve done a quality job, missed out last year in a cruel fashion but have regrouped and are doing an excellent job again. Long may it continue.

Rumoured to be Steve Morrison. Seems to be an abrasive sort - at least he was when in charge at Cardiff.

Etherington has now released a statement saying he quit Crawley (not sacked/mutual termination) because of the interference from above.

My first thought was that he meant Wagmi but then I realised they were not even in the country at the time.

I'm guessing our esteemed dof and interim ceo Galley had a few words to say on stats and team selection but video calls are a thing nowadays so I could be wrong.

Is this his statement from a few days ago where he spoke about people 'overstepping his boundaries and values'? That statement was a bit obtuse, and could mean anything, including your interpretation.
Anyway, he's agreed to give an interview to the Lower League Look podcast next week, (might not be out for about 2 weeks) so it will be interesting to see if he's any clearer on that, or even allowed to do the interview. He's either gagged or incapable of communicating in a way anyone can understand. I think it's the former, and I think your interpretation is correct, (in particular he was angry that he couldn't select Nicholls and was then told to drop The 3) but at the moment we're just guessing what's going on at your club. Things will be slightly clearer once we have the team news this afternoon, in regard to the 3.
