"Due to the intensity of the negotiations and the inclusion of a second club (to negotiate compensation for the assistant) it’s understood the club are hoping to get the appointment completed by the weekend although with 3 parties involved it could take longer.

We will follow up this article later today with some background on Morris and his career so far."

You’re right! I took it as granted he’d go back to Chelsea for his coaching assistant. Hope Gav doesn’t get ousted.

John Terry!

Haha! Can you imagine? As an aside Jimmy Fraser, who is a Swindon lad is the head of yoof development at Chelsea.

Not sure that John Terry is employed by anyone these days? Jimmy Fraser , ex town youth, seems plausible given the player development model that we are adopting

Obviously a club stalwart, and he's done ok with Colchester since taking over, but surely it's quite a risk from Wycombe's perspective this early in his managerial career. They're probably hoping for a copy and paste 'project' to Ainsworth but it might not necessarily be successful twice.

It's a risk for sure, but as a former member of Ainsworth's coaching staff, he knows all the players, their strengths and weaknesses, knows how Ainsworth used to run his training sessions, tactics, etc etc, so in that respect it's about as much "continuity" as you could possibly get.

Confirmed as Bloomfield by Wycombe.

Genuinely surprised to be honest. I wouldn't think he's done anywhere near enough yet to justify moving up a division to side looking upwards - our form has picked up since the turn of the year, but that's because we've invested in pretty much signing a new team. We're more solid defensively but have yet to click in an attacking sense.

Not to mention that one of the appeals for him coming here was that he's based in Suffolk and the 30 minute drive to work is much more convenient for him and his family life, even more so for a managerial role where the hours are clearly far greater than for a player.

For a guy who was brought in with no experience, he's been given a lot of trust and financial backing to bring in his own staff and sign so many players - six were brought in in January on two and a half year deals, all with a transfer fee too. It's a real kick in the teeth for him to walk out so quickly and I doubt he'd ever get a good reception back here to be honest.

Stockport County.
How much infleunce does Jeff Stelling have at Hartlepool? I was under the impression he was involved in some way. He basically called for a change last night on Twitter.

Hartlepool chairman just has no foresight. How many players did he let the Scottish guy sign? And now he's let Curle bring in a raft in January and looks like he's booted him.

Always makes decisions that look like he's chasing his tail. If he'd done more to keep your NL promotion team together (including DC- who did seem to love it up there, I really don't think it's lip service) then he wouldn't have to sign 10 players every window.

I hope someone can come in and keep you up.

Raj is an absolute calamity as an owner.
His only good managerial appointment, including his time at Darlo was Challinor.
I'd honestly go bust & start again if it meant we got rid of him.

He hit gold with DC, once in a lifetime appointment, he was that good.

Doesn’t matter who gets the job, chairman is the problem, until he goes it’s same old.

Curle and West gone, new appointment soon.
To the surprise of absolutely no one. He had to go, it’s not just the results the performances have been dire.

Biggest worry is relying on Raj yet again who’s record with recruitment has been a shambles.

Give us a list of names and we will have a poll.

He can then blame us if it goes tits up, which it won,t.

Dave Artell was close before the Scottish midget in the summer, blokes had knock backs galore, must be gagging for an appointment.

Stelling will pick the manager.

He's like Livia in the Soprano's.

Great shout.

If you could get JA it would be a really good appointment. His specialty is getting the best out of players who were either previously under performing or had limited ability. Whether he has been burnt by the experience at York is the question and wants to work for a club with a better owner next time.

Can't see a huge amount of managers fancying running Hartlepool to be honest, not with their track record and where they are in the league. Add to that the squad they've got currently, and no window to improve it.
