I don't really see who FGR and Sutton are going to drag in. I can see them both improving and picking up more points but I still think they'll both go down.

Good appointment, well certainly better from FGR.

Going to be tough for either of the bottom two to get out but my money would firmly be on Sutton. According to my workmate who is a Sutton fan improved perfomances and results of late. Could Morrison work some magic and drag Colchester in?

Cotterill, whilst certainly a dull misreable fecker at the best of times, is a smart appointment for FGR. If they and Sutton can start winning, I think a few teams down near the bottom are going to go from comfortable to outright panic very quickly.

Can only see Colchester improving with the new manager and additions, and they will continue to spend - I’m also struggling to see who gets dragged in to it.

Donny maybe? But they are already eight points clear.

FGR have at least given themselves a glimmer of hope with that appointment as opposed to the Deeney and Ferguson type.

Still a lot of football to be played but I think Cotterell will need a miracle to keep them up. He's got a week to bring his own personnel in and I feel a lot of the players at FGR won't like his style of management either as he's incredibly abrasive.

That said, the gap isn't insurmountable for both at the bottom, and not every new manager will work wonders.

I hope Salford end up going down though. It'd be glorious.

Plenty of time for others to come into it. Few danger signs for Swindon I reckon, especially if they get a points deduction (though the EFL appears to be going soft on those).

This is the best news at FGR for a long time. I fear it's come a little too late (not least in transfer window terms) to save us from the drop, but.... At last we have a sensible capable proven manager instead of Vince alternating between his risky gamble thing (which did pay off in Rob Edwards' case) and his media/reformed hard man obsessions.

I reckon Colchester and Salford, maybe Donny, are the other clubs potentially in the mix here, alongside us and Sutton. Swindon's off-field situation might mean they have a dreadful second half of the season but I reckon they've done enough to be safe. Likewise Morecambe.

Absolutely no chance Salford will go down, quality players back from injury now for them, they'll be nowhere near it.

Agreed I expect Salford to go upwards, still got some really good players in that squad.

I’d happily take Luke Bolton right now the pace would be greatly appreciated.

Think Wrexham have bid for him. Would be a good RWB for them.

We're always linked with Watt and Hendry for them. Can't see them selling anybody this window. Think a few of these are out of contract this summer, they could see a exodus.

Cowleys v Cotterill next week. Huge game, probably won't be pretty.

Williams will be back at Notts by this time next year.

Got a hiding at home on Saturday and now 5-0 down at half time to Bournemouth reserves.

He'll be welcomed back with open arms by most. But let's give the BT engineer a fair crack first.

He's a full time head coach now ya know.

Nah, he'll be coaching in Belgium next, that's the pathway. Then in two years Maynard will replace him after a difficult spell at Luton.

Seem to be watching more of S4C than is healthy just lately, stumbled across that just before halftime(when they’d already let the 5 in). Some of those goals, jesus wept.

A poetic intersection of his abysmal cup record and the piss poor defending from this season.

Who have they got back? Easily the worst team I've seen this season (and I've seen Grimsby plenty of times this seaaon!). When we played them less than a month ago they probably put in one of the worst performances I've seen at this level (and I've seen Grimsby plenty of times in previous seasons!).

Bolton, Hendry, Shephard, legs in midfield around Watt with a few midfielders whos names escape me. That team got to a Play Off Semi last year and only lost to us on pens. I hope I'm wrong, I have no time for them as most on here don't but I'd be pleasantly stunned if they don't pull away now.

Bolton and Watt definitely played against us the other week, was surprised at how ineffectual they were. Watt was one of the best players I saw last season and was expecting him to be at the centre of everything again but we played three in the middle and completely dominated them for the entire match. You're probably right about them kicking on if they've got good players coming back but perhaps they've got deeper problems in the squad. I was fully expecting them to be up there this season, thought they recruited well on top of what was already a strong squad.

I'm not sure Karl Robinson is the best appointment when you're up against it like that either. A hot head who takes everything to heart. I listened to that podcast followed him and Paul Warne around a few seasons ago when Oxford and Rotherham were both going for promotion in L1 and came to the conclusion that Robinson is borderline unhinged. Had a sports psychologist with him every day which sounds like quite a progressive move if he'd have been imparting his knowledge on the group of players and staff but it seemed like he was employed specifically to deal with Robinson's tantrums and breakdowns.

McCann, Robinson, Cowley, Morrison, Cotterill. 5 managers that have all worked in the Championship scrapping it out at the arse end of League 2.

Wonder if any will stay at their respective clubs in the National League.

Would have been 6 had we not sacked Hurst too!

True, still time for you to sack Artell and bring Holloway back to get that number up to 6.

Seriously though it's funny how only 2 of the managers in the top half have ever worked in the Championship, whilst the bottom of the league is entirely populated by managers who have. Suppose it shows clubs will nearly always (in our case eventually) go for experience when in panic mode. Which makes sense.
