Called Rowett or Monk at Weds back in July, mad it's taken so long.

Don't think DC liked the look of the out of work candidates, seems like we were interested in Neil and Cowley but considering we've only just resolved FFP issues we aren't wanting to spend on compo. Monk or Rowett were my unemployed choices from the start.

Decent appointment for Wednesday. The thing is though, you just never know if he’s going to stick about .

Got him mixed up with Rowett haven’t you mate? Monk’s never left any club under contract of his own choice from memory.

Yes, but what are the reasons for this J. There is always something going on with him in the background. I don’t doubt his ability. Personally I think he’s a decent manager, but he comes across snidey.

Think Swansea gave him the boot unfairly when they were sat 12th in the Premier League, finished 8th the year before and saved them from the drop the year before that. One season at Leeds took them from mid table fodder to play off contenders, they did bomb it in the last month though and ended up 7th. He left there due to ownership issues if I remember rightly? Got sacked at Boro season they came down when they were in 9th 3 points off the play offs, should have done better with the squad and resources. Did a very impressive job at Birmingham considering the circumstances and I think he resigned due to ownership issues again?

His contract was up at Leeds and Boro offered him a better deal and budget from memory. Was sacked at Brum, bizarrely.

Cowley turning down WBA, Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday in the space of a few months. What a man.
Well this hasn't aged well...

Cowley's had a U-turn and has agreed to join Huddersfield. Fuck.

Aye think the Championship will be a step too far for these two, like Jones at Stoke.

Having seen his team play twice against Rovers already this season, I’m not entirely sure they were going to keep Lincoln up anyway in fairness.

Not sure if serious? :ffs: we're fifth!

Anyway, would agree this is a strange move. Why turn down Wednesday for Huddersfield?! I can only think he's been promised a big budget.

We have beaten you twice, perhaps were just too good for the league.

He comes across as a right tosser anyway, get Gareth Ainsworth in he’s another hoofer.

Parachute Payments maybe but think more to do with level of control and autonomy they will get, we have a transfer structure in place which the chairman is adamant on.

Think it’s a bit different to Jones at Stoke. Jones has a very dogmatic way of playing, its 442 diamond and that’s pretty much it. He might play 352 every now and again but he’s not really committed to it and it’s always build out from the back even if you don’t really have the players for it as we didn’t in NJs first full season.

Cowley started off at Lincoln playing some of the most direct football I have ever seen, even the keeper seemed to only be in the team because he has the biggest kick I’ve seen, even goal kicks were attacking set pieces for them almost. But since then he seems to have transitioned them to a more footballing side leading to a pretty successful seasons last year and a solid start in this. He’s shown an ability to adapt that I don’t think Jones ever really has. Although I don’t doubt they have plenty of it they also don’t seem to have the overt in your face ego that rubs people up the wrong way, especially ex premier league players. I bet Jones went in at Stoke at just immediately made enemies whereas from afar I think the Cowleys might be more pragmatic than that.

Can’t see Cowley being anything other than a success. 10+ years in management and they haven’t had one bad season. They’ll take this in their stride like everywhere else

Not a clue tbh. I heard Robbie Neilson turned us down last weekend. I want Adam Barrett personally but Parkinson seems to be most fans pick. Doubt he’d come here personally

So the end is nigh for Jonesy. And David Moyes is being linked as his replacement.

Like that is going to work.

Dare I say it, the manager isn't the only problem...

Shocked Stoke haven't sacked him yet, expected it immediately after Friday night.

That post match interview would make me think twice about appointing him if i was a club owner or chairman. Just totally chucked it in. Never seen that. He really fucked himself there

He might end up here. I have a feeling Stendel will jump ship given the opportunity, he’s clearly frustrated that the board didn’t invest in any experience for this campaign.
