Bit gutted Bruce is going, thought he might come to his senses and stay with us.

Hopefully money coming in will help towards signing Michael Hector, no idea who next manager will be, Lee Bullen will be put in temporary charge.

Lots of ex managers available but most of them are Dinosaurs, maybe appointing someone like John Terry for his first job as manager might work.

If you're a manager of Steve Bruce's calibre you'll always get job offers though. Just me but I'd rather manage anywhere else than West Brom. Also as Villa Loyal says if he really is a Newcastle fan he must hate Mike Ashley?
He’s not an idiot, he knows he’ll never get another chance to manage Newcastle. It’s a free hit for him, if he gets sacked then he’ll get paid off and another Championship club will take him a week later, because like it or not he’s a very good manager at this level.

Very good at this level? Two runners up and one play offs. Just that for how many years at huge clubs......well apart from his last club that is

Since dumping Palace for Birmingham in 2001 Bruce has had four full seasons managing in the Championship. He was promoted in three of them and lost the playoff final in the fourth. The other three half seasons when he took charge of a club around midway through a season saw him win the playoff final with Birmingham and stabilise both Villa and Sheff Wed. If you don’t think he’s a top manager at this level you’re a fool.

That is standout acheivement on the face of it. Im guessing the rest of the years were in the Prem with yoyo type clubs. I am very niave to the Championship and recognise we're in for an awekening that could very well be rude.

Its a different world from when we were last here vasrly larger and inflated with huge teams and awash with ridiculous huge but looks often wasted money. Just off the top of my head without any research or much thought he doesnt appeal and sit in my mind as a top Manager. Maybe incorrectly. I cant help think a younger brighter motivated up and comer could do so more than an ex player who lived on their name and was maybe appointed on that to appease fans and given money to spend and decent staff behing succeeded. That said he has acheived but maybe hasnt quite got the respect levels of the top guns

Disappointed at losing Bruce, made himself look a twat in the way he’s gone about it but managers come and go and we’ve got a decent price for him. With Hughton out of the running I literally don’t even know who I’d like to get the job, just a long list of managers I don’t want.

I'm also convinced he would have finished in the top 6 with Villa last season if he hadn't been sacked. Villa may have been on a bad run at the time but he was only 2 points off the top 6 when he was given the push and it was still relatively early in the season. In fact, if Villa hadn't missed an injury time penalty in Bruce's last game in charge they would have possibly been in the top 6 anyway. Also, bar the January addition of Mings for the injured Chester, the team that was promoted was the one Bruce had put together.

As a villa fan I can honestly say we wouldn’t have made the play offs under him. The pressure was starting to show and his post match interviews were getting more bizarre. We were also playing shite. His time was up.

Ultimately we'll never know, but what you say was exactly the kind of things many Villa fans were saying at the same stage of the season before last, and you still reached the play-off final that year. Bruce had another partial rebuild at the end of that season and bought in McGinn, Abraham, Tuanzebe and El Gahzi and along with Grealish and Mings were the key players in your promotion. He more or less built that promotion side whichever way you cut it.

Our play off season under Bruce we were much stronger than we were for the start of the following season. It wasn’t pretty but we were hard to beat. I wasn’t a Bruce hater, but he was the wrong man for the type of team we had last season. He had us playing wrong, and not to our full abilities. It’s one thing bringing players in, but you’ve got to know how to use them.

Bruce officially confirmed at Newcastle, 3 year deal. We've released a statement saying it's all going to get very legal, I'm guessing Ashley has chucked Chansiri a mill in compo and said see you in court for the rest, apparently the other issue is with Agnew and Clemence, an injunction may be taken out, not the first time this has happened with Bruce.

They hounded Bobby Robson out in the end. Bruce won’t last two minutes.

Siewart sacked then. I’ve got a really bad feeling they’re going to come after Stendel and if that happens I’m done.

To be fair he had half the season last year and they were getting battered most weeks, got less points than the first half under Wagner, needed to come down off the back of at least stringing a couple of good wins together like Fulham to try and shake the losing mentality and build some momentum. Obviously hasn't happened and I've always thought he would struggle and Huddersfield will be much like Stoke last season. His appointment was based on how well Wagner had done coming from the Dortmund reserves, think it was more in hope than anything. Don't think they'll go for a Hughton or Rowett, Stendel or another German manager I reckon.

What did they expect him to achieve in 2 weeks?

They should have got rid then. Don’t know why they have let him have pre season and three games before realising he’s not up to the job.

Pressure starting to mount on Cook as we drop into the bottom three for the first time since promotion. Lose at home to Barnsley next week and I reckon he’ll be potted in favour of one of the experienced Championship managers currently out of work.

Cook needs to spend less time in the Talbot in Euxton with that piss head Peter Reid.

Our ex manager Dean Saunders is going to prison for 10 weeks for drink driving offenses. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.
