A very happy point against the 12 men of Tranmere and another point closer to safety. Gutting we couldn't turn it in to three as results around us would have made that massive. Still Harvey's unbeaten run goes on. Historically we don't do well at Lincoln but as it is only a tenner on the coach i will travel with faint optimism.
While I thought the second yellow for Burrow was a bit harsh, didn't think the referee was that bad or partisan. Rovers could have well in front before Wroe's worldie and even though the second half was closer, Rovers had the better chances for a winner. Surely on the balance of play a point gained for Halifax today?

Just got back, fuck off Brabin. The man seems genuinely clueless when it comes to tactics. The Halifax goal is well worth a look.
Not a Brabin fan, but thought the first half was the best Rovers have played in a long time. The enforced change at the start of the second half disrupted our rhythm and taking off Mekki was odd though.

Alfreton 0-1 Bradford PA (King 15)

Never seen a bigger set of clueless idiots then those who "wore" the shirt today. No pride passion or desire. Absolute pathetic. One of he worst performances I have seen for a while and trust me I have seen quite a few in the past 18 months or so!!

There is something seriously wrong at the club. A general feeling of no ambition to get out of this downward spiral and almost a resignation that we are facing another relegation. Our Chairman has been quoted as saying that the Northern premier is our Natural Level.

Its obvious the general couldnt care less attitude has got down to the players. The fans deserve better

The only person to emerge with an ounce of pride from today was Lindon Meikle.

Just seen the Forest Green attendance: 1356. Absolutely laughable. The best period in the club's history and that's all they could muster. It's a shame they can't buy fans. Obviously no free tickets handed out today. What's the point?

FT: 2-2. Sounds like we got screwed by the ref today but still, that result isn't really good enough.

I listened in on Radio Cumbria, and commentators suggested one or two should have seen red - mentioned Wood was last man when he brought Walker down for the penalty.
It sounds like it could have gone either way, and Barrow had the better chances - Barrow fans that were there saying the ref was shit, meaning he cost us the game. Let's just agree it should've been a draw and ref should be demoted.

Very, very lucky to beat Alty. We were awful apart from the first 15 or so minutes of the second half. Good to know we can grind out an underserved win when we need to at least.

Who going first mate? Young or Law?!

I say Neil Young.

I don't think Young will be sacked. He'll have at least until 2 thirds of the way through next season. I'm still confident he'll turn it round.

Can someone from Halfax tell what the problem with Hattersley is/was. Since he's been here Ross Hannah has scored 6 in 4 (I think). The Hat is the perfect foil for him.

Give it time and you'll start to see his true attitude. He only ever performed for us when he came off the bench and had a point to prove.

Hint- when you think the ref was "fair" it's usually becuase he gave you everything he possibly could. Didn't think Rovers created that many chances to be honest but maybe that's because I've become accustomed to watching our defenders stepping aside to allow the opposition safe passage en route to 6 or 7. We had 2 enforced substitutions of our defenders in the first 45 minutes, so no, I don' t think it was a point gained, I thought it was a point that was well deserved.

That's a bit over the top, while I do agree we were poor for the first half we were well on top for most of the second half and could have scored several more. The better team on the day won but they certainly gave us a good game.

I'd agree with this. We were the better team, but Altrincham were bloody dogged. Early on I said it was going to be one of those games where we have all the chances and they'll go up the other end and score. I was nearly right, but thank God we managed to nick the goal. There were a couple of times I couldn't believe we didn't score, especially in the first couple of minutes of the second half.

Shout out to the Alty player's strike from 25 yards as well, absolute screamer. A shame the flag had been up for ages and the ref blew a good 5 seconds before he hit it.

Getting used to this kind of game, where the opposition do well against us for the opening period, then we score and never look like losing. Based on yesterdays performance, its hard to see how Kiddie haven't picked up more points, as they looked a half decent side who can play the ball around nicely, but are maybe a bit light upfront. We just seem to have developed a knack of winning these games, that in the past we would probably have drawn.
I thought the referee was the best we've had all season, in that you just never noticed him at all.

Another home draw and that's what'll cost us a PO place I think or at least stop us keeping in touch until the final run-in. When you score to go 2-0 up on HT, you've got to see the half out and win the game.

Matt Rhead, though. 18 for the season. We've even got him doing overhead kicks now. Unbelievable, Jeff. Only 5 Lincoln players have managed to get to 20 before the turn of the year. Not sure he'll reach the number 1 spot of 28!

Still can't believe he did it!
Only seen him have one bad game for us this season v Welling, where on another day he would have got a hat trick.

Agree with this, although 2nd half Halifax were there for the taking and playing Norwood up front on his own was extremely negative. I think Brabin set the team up for a draw 2nd half.

We won't make the play-offs, I've said all along we'll finish upper mid-table. We have neither the quality nor the strength in depth. You can't drop six points at home to Alty, Welling and Barrow and expect to get away with it.

Next season is the big one, it's all about building positive momentum til then.

That may be the way you see referees, but my assessment of the official is separate from that of my team's performance. For example, if Mr Coy really had it in for Halifax, he could have sent your last man off when Norwood went tumbling as he headed goalwards, instead of [correctly imo] waving play on.

Rovers hit the post twice, Mekki brought a good save out of your keeper just after we scored and Tomlinson set up Norwood who missed near the end; 18 goal attempts, but guess your recent opponents were more clinical, converting chances hasn't been our strong point lately. You're a bit out of sync with fans on your forum and a couple I chatted to walking back into town after the game, who did feel it was a point gained, but it's all about opinions. Personally thought the Halifax team who lost at Prenton Park back in August looked a better side than the one we faced yesterday.

yes big pat on the back for Alty, great effort and cant understand why they are below mid table. Got stuck in and gave it a real go. Didn't play very well at all apart from the first 20 mins of each half. Still its a good sign when you grind out results like yesterday and win.

I don't think its too bad. Considering our usual attendance(1500 ish) , the time of year (attendances across the conference in all but 2 fixtures dropped by 1/4) and also when you factor in Boreham Wood only took 32 (2nd worse away following of the day)

In regards to yesterday, tricky game against a well organised Boreham wood side. They have a few good players and i don't think they'll go down. Cheltenham showed that they have the steel to grind out a result when the going gets tough. Looking forward to Xmas games, will be hoping for 9/9 looking at our fixtures.

Then your out of sync with the fans on your forum who thought at the time that our team at your place was shit. Honestly can't remember Tranmere having 18 shots on goal, I'd have said 4 was about right myself, you seemed to have more possession but never really put our goals in any danger, the 4 shots I can think of aside.

We are crying out for some extra pace around the team and a partner in crime for Rhead if Hearn does double his money and go to Barrow.

Not having Barrow's red card I don't think. Maybe a yellow but it's a typical decision by a ref who didn't stamp things out early doors, turns it into a bit of a free-for-all and flashes a red when it wasn't one late in a game.

Yet their last game at FGR they really were terrible, we should have won by 4 or 5. Nearly 2 or 3 up in 10 mins, their goalie had a nightmare. Worst team Ive seen this season.
