Well put, we were awful against you. You guys didn't look brilliant but you didn't need to be as you got the lead easily and we never troubled you at all.

We didn't look brilliant, and we're still not polished. It's getting there though. I don't think we're a title winning side, but we should be up there. Not feeling optimistic for the Wrexham game if I'm honest, they'll be looking to prove a point to their fans after you taught them a lesson on Saturday!

What you did in non-league 20 years ago means absolutely nothing now!

Indeed, I remember when we were promoted that the only professional clubs in the Conference were Rushden and Diamonds and possibly Doncaster and Hereford (though I can't be certain on those two). My point is that I was 9 when I went to my first Cheltenham game and I'm 31 now. I remember non-league and our first poor season with me following the club was 02/03 when we were relegated from the old Division 2. Easily 90% of our fanbase, arguably more, will not have been going when we were relegated from the Conference in 1992. Hence why an awful lot of them will have stupid expectations this season.

Personally, I think we're doing very well, but there are so many ways in which we can improve. I'll still take a tilt at the playoffs in May.

I think Doncaster were, when we beat them 1-0 away for our first ever Conference win in September 98 I think it was also our first ever win against a fully professional side in anything other then a minor cup game?

Both them and Hereford finished below us though, so although the league has changed quite a lot since then, some things, like full time ex-league sides struggling to adjust, were still happening. This might have partly been down to the fact that most teams seasons were technically over by October, so they could ease off unless they were fighting relegation. The play-offs have given this league a massive boost.

Hereford were in deep doo-doo at the time, moneywise. We took John Brough, Neil Grayson and Dave Norton off them at pretty much nothing. Those players were crucial in our promotion season and Broughy and Grayson (especially) went on to legendary status at the club. Donny had also been relegated with all kinds of money issues.

I remember you gits making us wait an extra couple of days to secure promotion as well by holding us to a 1-1 draw at Whaddon Road on the Tuesday, did the job against Yeovil on the Thursday though thanks to a ref who was prepared to let us keep playing until we scored.

Indeed, if we'd lost, we'd be outraged. At least our lads aren't the ones wasting time writing out hand-written apologies and responding to refund demands from our fans forum this time. :bg1:

I must say it's getting a bit annoying now! I would take a good season ans loaong to Chester over a poor season and beating you but it would be much better if we beat you in the return fixture!

Fair play though, no complaints about Saturday. Sounds like the better team won.

Careful with that one, look how much trouble Kevin Ratcliffe has gotten himself in to. :bg1:

Ratcliffe is an idiot though. Someone should tell him that 'Tattle' isn't what it is called.

He should stick to having fights in restaurants in Queensferry.
