3-2 flattered Wrexham. Should have 4 or 5-1. Referee was an absolute minger for us. No one knows what the 1st half penalty to Wrexham was for. We should have had at least 1 possibly 2. We needed that after the 2 dismal away performances last week. Rooney and Shaw had very good games. Newton was fairly anonymous. Wrexham passed it around very prettily at times, but as said we showed up for this one thank God. Possibly the worst 2 keepers in National League on show today. Bring on Moneybags Barrow, although we've not played well away all season really.

Belford is nowhere near good enough and Mills only got him because he's better than most keepers down here with the ball at his feet, which pretty much sums up his "philosophy". I can't believe more teams don't just drop the ball right on top of him from corners and crowd him out as he is too small to claim anything. Rooney always plays well against us and annoyingly finds his shooting boots from free kicks everytime too. Apparently Nolan had a decent game but the young lad up front was well out of his depth. It's a poor league and I still think we will be up there around the playoffs most of the season. The trademark arms aloft will be on their way to turning into shaking heads if we lose Tuesday.

The new lad up front for you did look completely out of his depth to be honest, much like the Bournemouth loanee we had last month too. Everything you offered came through Vose really, he's a class act but on the few occasions I've seen him he tends drift out of the game as it goes on.

Gutted to lose a game against your local rivals. Even worse when it's a complete capitulation. It's not like it's the first time against them either.

That said the reaction by some of our fans on our forum is ridiculous. I'll give it a swerve till people have calmed down.

One former Alfreton player in Shaw has improved today. Wont be long before Warnsop does likewise. Granted I havent seen many of his recent performances but your Warsnop bashing is getting tiresome and no way are Belford/Warnsop the worse two keepers in National League.

Well the bottom 5 look very adrift all ready. Cant see eitther Torquay,Kiddy or Halifax getting out of this mess even at this early stage. Should Darlo come up from the Northern Premier then next years Conference North is looking very tasty!!

Really feel for their fans at the moment.

Barrow absolutely pissed the first half, denied by the post and bar and our keeper having the game of his life. A bit of a mugging really, but I'll take it.

Alfreton 1 (Robertson 27) Stalybridge 3 (Tames 10,70 Johnson 83)

Absolutely fucking abysmal second half today. Worse than any of Conference Premier shit days last season. Not good enough.

We are just so hot and cold at the moment. Great for the first 20 and final 15 at Tamworth then awful inbetween last week. Then today better side first half and unfortunate to be going in level at the break. Then played off the park second half. Too inconsistent at the moment.

Well its Hednesford next week in the FA Cup. The only other side to have won 4 drawn 4 and lost 4 of their 12 games so its anyones guess what will happen next week. We will certainly need a reaction from today though.

I think I'm blue in the face from saying Boreham Wood are a much better team than they've showed. I think I'm red in the face for the massive attempts they're going to in order to make me look a massive idiot. Still totally confident they'll come good and finish mid table. Which sadly means the bottom four will be the four down. Which would be a massive shame to lose Torquay and Kidderminster.

B-but we scored 4 last week without them?!
I have to repeat myself - feck all point in winning by 4 and then drawing the next 3 games. Well played FGR - a good niggly away performance, tugged and pushed but played a hopeless ref far better than we did. Yet again we look the technically more accomplished, yet again we are not street-wise enough, not savvy enough. If the ref keep blowing up for any sort of contact, we do we keep charging in and giving away free kicks that let the pressure off the opposition. This is the conference, players will make mistakes, you can pressurise without blundering in. Yet again Hurst is over- cautious with the bench. That must have been the most talented bench in this league so far - Bogle, Amond, Arnold, Toto. Neither team will win the title...fed up, off to watch the egg chasing...and not optimistic about that, but at least we dont have a rugby league prop playing centre.

I'm afraid he's cost us a lot of points this season with errors and I doubt you'll see much support for him on our forum. Viscosi, who said he was re-signing, but instead went to Southport would have been a much better option.

Surely too early to say that, still a long way to go. Southport had a good win today and looked half-decent when they played Rovers. I'd hope for selfish reasons that they and Halifax manage to stay up, but not hopeful about the Shaymen.

You're in for a treat Aldershot fans, Nico has started himself at LB. -In before Nico scores a hattrick :2thumb:

Yeah I should really thank him for playing himself, and playing a left back (Butler) in central midfield - this certainly helped us a bit today.

That said, Torquay were very poor today in my opinion (which is dissapointing as its one of our better away trips) and we could have won by more than 2-0, I think the closest Torquay came to scoring was when Phil Smith dropped the ball from a free kick onto the post although how it didnt go in i'll never know (that could easily have changed the game).

For me it was the perfect away performance, we got the goals in the first half and in the second half controlled the game. IF we could play at home as we do away we have a chance of being in the playoff hunt come April, but in all honesty I will still be happy to finish mid table and don't think we have enough over a season to mount a serious play off challenge.

Altrincham are currently the only team in the bottom half who we haven't played.

That's 11/14 of the teams we've played. We've played 11 of the bottom half teams and gotten five points in total from them.

Just atrocious.

Impressive run Tranmere but you looked poor last week and were very lucky to come away with three points. Here's hoping we can both bounce back at the the first attempt.

It`s amazing that the supporters of nearly every club who have failed to beat us this season has described us as being " poor". If we are that poor how come your obviously superior team couldn`t beat us?

Oh and Cheltenham looked so complete today that our teams were practically different species. Greek gods vs. fucking house elves.

They need some height and physicality in their side - they have little of either.

Looks like Halifax felt the full force of the backlash of Cheltenham's defeat to us. Although yes, they do have a very large number of pricks on their forum who think they're destined to destroy this league. They presumably weren't old enough to go to games on their own when Cheltenham last played at this level, but still. Although their fans on here are a decent bunch.

If the team that turned up against Wrexham yesterday had turned up at PP a month ago we'd have won by a country mile. We just need our A game to turn up more often.

Kiddy's next few fixtures look huge. B-Wood at home on Tuesday, followed by Macc and Alty away and Southport at home. They have to be getting at least 6 points from those games imo.

I think people are underestimating how bad Kiddy are. Not meaning to be a twat at all, because I really like Kiddy as a club as well, but our 2-0 over them should have been nearer 5-0 if I'm being brutally honest.

I can only see them beating Boreham Wood out of that list, at a push, but I hope they can recover and get more.

Just an opinion, you looked poor on the day and rode your luck, before scoring a fortunate goal which was apparently off side and against the run of play. Clearly you are a decent team though given your league position and I wish you good luck for the season.

Sadly I have to agree with you. When we played them, and won by the same scoreline, I just couldn't see them scoring. Although it took us some time to breach their defence I was confident we would go on to win if we could, though I do think the final score was a fair reflection of the game and we never looked likely to score a hatfull. I have been to most of our games at Kiddy in the last 6-7 years and that was the first time I had been there with any degree of confidence that we might get something from the game. At the admission of their own fans the team is a mixture of old heads and youngsters, that sort of mix can work with time or if you get lucky, they need to start turning it around quickly.
