I have been a regular watcher of football for over a decade - never, ever have I seen a referee botch up as much as that. Every single time we have him at Plainmoor he does us over but tonight was the biggest farce I've seen.

Credit to Woking though, thought it was end to end in the first half with both sides enjoying a few half chances. Second half you seemed to note that 2/3 of our midfield were playing poorly and you tweaked to force the wing backs back, and it put us under the cosh. However I still don't think you created much. After the substitution farce, it was pretty one way - you could feel Woking were going to sneak something out of nothing and it came right at the death. We were poor since half time and lost our shape completely after the incident.

Feel like a point would have been fair, but swings and roundabouts. Three more tough games to come now - if we can somehow take a win and draw I'll be content.

Bit disappointed in the manner we let our lead slip tonight, such a soft goal and Worsnop has to be at fault for missing his punch. Overall though happy enough, thought it was a good game between two decent sides. We by and large dominated the first half and Cheltenham improved after they equalised. Glad to see Hannah score, really well taken finish but then missed a sitter (one on one) not long after. He's also frustratingly offside too much, although we knew to expect that I suppose.

Cheltenham looked quite good, still look a bit of a work in progress maybe, but would expect them to be in the play-off hunt.

NFU scored with pretty much the last kick of the game following an awful attempt to clear by Roberts. Gutted, but can't really argue with the result - neither side were particularly composed, it was full of niggly fouls and often looked like boiling over because of officials who never had any intention of taking charge of the game.

Disappointed with a draw given our position after the first half, gifted Cheltenham an early 2nd half equaliser. Terrible decision from our keeper.

50/50 second half, either team could have taken the lead, but we should have been 2 up in the first. Hannah missing a one on one.

Ross was denied a wonderful goal in the second by a great save from Phillips too. Half volley on the edge of the box tipped wide, Phillip was initially going the wrong way too.

Would of been happy with a draw prior to the game though.

Deserved win against an, as expected, limited Torquay side. Both teams defences were the winners in the first-half but we still had the better chances - Gez spooning one over from six yards and Murtagh's volley over.

Second half there was only one team that looked like scoring. I can't remember Torquay having a shot on target. They seemed to be very angry at the referee but barring the substitution fiasco, which might not have even been their fault, he didn't get any major decisions wrong. As for the substitution thing, how the Torquay bench didn't realise the wrong player, who ran over from the other side of the pitch, was coming off I'll never know. He was off the pitch and going to sit down before they all realised, so amateur.

Regarding the last minute winner, at least Torquay know how we felt last season. Great scenes in the away end.

You'll do well to find a better centre-half in this division than Ismail Yakubu, what a player.

And finally, as for Exodus, well, just be thankful you can throw the ball otherwise you'd be playing in the Combined Counties and working in Poundland.

(Might be working in Poundland regardless)

Thought a draw was a fair result in the end tonight. We dominated the first half whilst they had the better of the second, although we probably had the better of the chances. Impressed by Cheltenham and think they'll be up there come the end of the season, good football on show from both sides.

Last season we'd have lost that game no doubt.

Comfortable 1-0 win for Tranmere against a determined Halifax side that lacked any kind of cutting edge.

The referee did an excellent job in the holding midfield role for Halifax, breaking up the play where possible.

Mangan & Harris both impressive with the former unlucky not to score a few. Roll on Saturday, gaining momentum.

That was fooking mental. It was like a non-league team playing FL opposition in the FA cup. How Grimsby didn't score in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half I don't know. Off the mark, hurrah!

Not the most assured performance again from us, but 10 points from 12 whilst not playing well will certainly do :2thumb:
"The-artist-formerly-known-as-Trialist-H" should have scored a few in the first half, and linked up well with Mangan. Harris was good, rest of the midfield and the full backs were poor. Can't recall any decent Halifax chances I'm afraid.

Would have taken the lead last year then lost 4 - 1,

Ross Hannah impressed me today, still would like to see Kane Richards get a game. Maybe the last 10, his pace would have caused problems for there centre backs

You can now have the honour of officially being called our 'bogey team' ;)

Boreham Wood were incredibly unlucky not to come away with something, hit the woodwork three times I think. But they didn't have a shot on target... Forest Green had just the one, defenders game that. What happened with Kelly FGR fans? Was surprised he wasn't in the squad, especially as Jennings stuck out like a sore thumb as your weak link.

Billy Clifford was excellent, as was the Boreham Wood defence. Thought Wedgebury for FGR was very good protection for the defence, Racine and Bennett were both superb defensively, although Racine's footballing ability I question. Every time I've seen Bennett he's impressed.

Kelly injured apparently, a million times the player Jennings is imo, but not sure AP fully agrees. Racine and Bennett are class acts, 2 of the best defenders at this level. Racine is an absolute rock and Bennett must be the quickest defender in the league.

Haha, fuck off. I know you're not serious, but still, fuck off.

I've got money on you to make the play-offs, both on here and at the bookies. Not looking too bad so far.

Doubt we will get near the play offs, still sticking to my 10th spot prediction. We don't look that solid at the back and don't have much pace in the middle of the park (apart from Nolan), so it's quite easy and open to get at our back line. However, Rhead and Hearn will cause problems to most of the National league defences and Hearn especially is already looking really sharp. It's nice having two scorers already on 4 goals.

If Hearn actually stays fit you've got a great striker at this level.

Rhead is still a fat sack of sh*t

10 points from 12 having struggled to get out of probably 2nd gear, just hope we don't stay in 2nd gear all season.

Really, so from your position in the away, the opposite end of the ground in the first half, you clearly saw Fisher attack the Woking box and receive an elbow to the face, a penalty in anyone's books. However I do agree with you, Woking were the better team in the second, certainly not the first, therefore did deserve to win the game, no complaints there from me.

On the substitution agreed, for a start the laws of the game do state once an outgoing player has left the field of play and the oncoming player has entered the substitution is made, therefore Fisher couldn't stay on, but it was the 4th official that had to point that out to the referee who clearly didn't know the rules, however, again, agreed, our bench were very slow to react.

Still sticks in the throat though, knowing we ended at one point with 4 midfielders on the park, and then having to change the shape and formation because someone made a huge balls up, certainly didn't;t help our cause.

Just reading the comments from Paul Cox. He said he told the linesman to sub number 7 off but the linesman put in 17, and instead of apologising and rectifying it with common sense, he "dug his heels in" and decided the substitution had to go ahead. Great stuff, it really is.

Shite, that. Today showcases why I've been concerned about our defence so far. Our goals are helping us win games we wouldn't have won last season but on the flip side that's a game we wouldn't have lost.

Not seen us yet so hard to comment on individuals but the word is East isn't good on the left, Macca's still flappy and we're lacking a leader. I think we'll be fine once we get Pearson and Robertson back in there and we become settled. This will be the kick up the arse we need as we've sounded very complacent.

First game I've made it to this season. Good to see us take three points (seems like a long, long time since the last time that happened when I was in attendance), but a slightly frustrating night in terms of players playing out of position. Ihiekwe is not a full back, Liam Ridehalgh should be playing on the left, and Maynard would be more useful sat on the bench than playing as a winger. The misplaced passes from all of the back line are also a worry, better opposition would have punished us for that.

On the positive side, Margetts and Mangan linked up well and Harris put himself about more than the other 21 players on the pitch put together. We also created a ton of chances which, with a bit more luck, could have put us more than one up at the final whistle.

Seems an odd feeling walking out of Prenton Park not feeling miserable!

I haven't listened to the Cox interview but I can't help feeling he'll make more out of this just to cover up his side's poor performance.

Perhaps not but the referee couldn't see it from his position, as you'll see on the highlights. Maybe his linesman could have helped out.

Lots of chances at Tranmere, and lots of shots... shame most of them were about as venomous as a dormouse. On another day we might have spanked them, but similarly, we could easily have lost to a random goal while struggling to score.

Satisfied with the win, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered about this squad.

There's something special happening at Wrexham. Mills is playing total football and the punters can't get enough of it. Over 1k away fans at Kidderminster tonight and I reckon we'll see a crowd of 6k at home against Welling on Saturday. Even if we lose a few the football is so good to watch the fans will stick with it. He was such a good appointment for us. Long may it continue!

1k away fans is mighty impressive on a Tuesday night.

League is shaping up nicely - FGR 100% record, Wrexham over their early slip-up and Tranmere picking up points. I think FGR will drift away a la Halifax last season though at some point, maybe in late September/October when they get a tough run of fixtures. Despite losing tonight I'm sure Grimsby will be up there too. All 'early days' stuff though, interesting from the outside.
