From what I've seen so far, we look a reliable but solid team but if we want to challenge for 1st place we need to sign some pacy width badly. The Halifax full backs had it too easy last night and Mangan/Margetts, although they linked up very well, didn't get enough supply from those behind them. The few times they did, they could have had a hatful. Mangan's goal was well taken and Margetts should have got one at the end but delayed his shot for some inexplicable reason.

On the plus side, our defence and keeper look as reliable as any we've had in a while. Clean sheets, good talkers, organisation off the ball. But if we want to go all the way and challenge for top spot we've gotta sort the wide man issue out. Maynard struggled but he doesn't play there and I dunno what Gary is thinking behind that. We've got the spine of the team right, but we just need some pace/flair to add the final piece of the jigsaw, IMO. We're intelligent at times but we're a bit slow/pedestrian when we attack.

Happy enough with the start though, beat Boreham Wood and then we'll descend on Alty en masse.

That's fair enough, I suppose you must have realised that it's time that you dropped to a level more suitable to a club of your size and resources.

Don't want to end up having to start again as AFC FC Town of Halifax due to overstretching trying to compete with the big boys.

You really do have a sense of humour failure, god you must be fun to be around

First half we were playing like a team with no confidence. Didnt see their goal so no comment on that but from what I saw (probably missed the first 15/20 minutes as I usually do at home games) we struggled until Brodie (who was my man of the match) kept his cool and equalised for us.

Second half we were better but as with Gateshead we didnt take our chances when on top and had to settle for a point. While Saturday was terrible today was a big improvement although there are still a lot of work to do.

What concerns me is that we could and possibly should have won both home games, yet have come away with 1 point out of 6. Personally the longer we go without a win the worse it will get. Lets hope we can get the win at Guiseley on Saturday, although that wont be easy!

Sounds like your chairman has misunderstood. Away fans in that stand should pay the same as home fans in that stand.

Oh well, like I said, it doesn't bother me as I didn't go, and it's only £3. But I suspect some people will get a bee in their bonnet over it in future.

A fat sack of shit with 4 goals in 4 games!
I think he'll score well against the bottom half teams - those that don't have the defensive intelligence to know how to deal with him, hence goals against Braintree and Macclesfield.

I think it might be a different matter against anyone with substance, but a great start for him nonetheless.

Gloucester City (Williams 85) 1-1 Alfreton Allan (43)

An Inspired Dan Bradley murdered Gloucester and his exceptional cross was headed home by Allan. He then scored have two himself before he was sent flying by Hamilton who was sent off. A poisoned chalice as it turned out as I have never seen a team with 11 men use their man advantage so poorly as we did in the Second half. Fortunate to come home with a point.

Got a feeling Wayne is going to regret not taking the chance to sack Nicky at the end of last season.

Ah OK that makes sense.

We don't have a standing area in use at Wrexham anymore (unfortunately) so I wasn't aware of this rule. There is a seating area behind the goal, only for home fans, that is cheaper than the one the away fans have (it has restricted views because of posts etc.) However, Wrexham fans in the same stand as the away fans and in the stand opposite pay the same price as the away fans.

Our defence was comically bad last night, an actual sack of shit would've probably scored two goals. Rhead is strong and knows how to use his strength against both defenders and referees intelligently, Hearn seems capable of finishing but won't score an easier hat-trick in 1000 years. You have yourselves a very useful front two who complement each other perfectly but we hysterically bad at defending last night.

I have read on the Wraggs to Riches forum that some of your fans think Muldoon was a disgrace, should have been sent off when your keeper was knocked to the ground. It was a long way from me but It wasn't really like that was it? I thought your keeper got down to smother the ball first before Muldoon so probably shouldn't have attempted to go for the ball catching him with his foot. However I don't think for a second there was any intent on our players part. Hope Jalal is ok and gets over the concussion quickly. I don't think there were any bookings in the game for either side so it wasn't a dirty game. I don't see how the Macc fans were annoyed about the officiating, I don't reckon there were many wrong decisions made last night to be honest, and it's not often I stick up for the men and women who ref the games.

I can't really comment on the Muldoon-Jalal incident as I wasn't in that end with the away fans but in the press box and so had a bloody pillar in the exact wrong place that restricted my view. I didn't think Muldoon swung a leg or anything but Jalal did claim the ball comfortably before he got there as you say.

I must admit I thought Whiteley was pretty poor and generally always is, wasn't the worst non-league refereeing performance ever but that's not saying much. Rhead got every decision his way for most of the game, Nolan should've been booked early on, some of the corner decisions seemed ridiculous too. The kick-off thing was pretty farcical especially because it happened twice on each wing. I think peoples criticism towards him is more a case of lots of little things going against us, and I'm definitely not going to suggest the officials were an excuse/had any impact on the result (unless Sampson's goal was onside but again my view was pillared and he did look fairly isolated).

This rule hasn't been applied very well then, not like the prices have been hidden away.

Strange, that's the first time I've ever heard that rule and it isn't in the rules of the national league. We have been doing this since we were in the conference so not sure why nothing has been done about it before. Does seem quite silly that two sets of supporters should pay different prices to sit in the same stand simply because they support different clubs.

It should make you a mint when you next play Chorley and their mass army of thousands turn up for a fight and have to pay an extra 3 quid for the pleasure..... :box: :P1:

Paul Cox must be having a little chuckle to himself. All the talk about the game is over the substitution and not about how inept Torquay's performance was that they didn't even have a shot on target.

Just one point about that article... how can you lose 1-0 to a 90th minute equaliser?!

"Ultimately, 'tired' Torquay lost 1-0 to Woking through a 90th minute equaliser and Cox was sent from the dugouts."
I noticed that, does that we get 1 point.

Ah Brett Huxtable. Now Lee Swabey has been somehow promoted to the Football League, he probably takes the position of worst referee in the division. I'm sure he has overruled his linesmen on offside decisions on multiple occasions as well.

We're making a formal complaint regarding the officials on Tuesday. Not sure what to think of that. If clubs made complaints after every wrong decision it would become a joke, but where is the line? No one can deny the officials at this level are pathetic. Nothing will come of it, mind.

Sounds like Brendan Rodgers, when he wrote to Mike Riley about all the unfair treatment Liverpool were getting from referees. Got nowhere and made himself look a right bellend.

Everyone in this league has to cope with shite officiating, the standard of refereeing mirrors the standard of the players.

This is amazing. First Paul Cox and now Paul Hurst covering up their team's faults by blaming the referee. Can't believe the fans of these clubs are falling for it too.

This from the fan of a club who's manager spouts more bollocks than any other manager in this league, with the possible exception of his namesake at Eastleigh............
