My two penny worth .. yes we played horrendous hoofball, were very physical and probably deserved to lose. But the ref and linesman were the worst I have ever seen and their rediculous decisions led to much of our players frustration.

Some yellows were deserved .. Bennetts for kicking it into the stand (it wasn't deliberate time-wasting just frustration at his own inability to control the ball), KMB for mis-timing the challenge in the 1st half. But both of Carters were a disgrace. 1st yellow for giving the linesman earful when he got a decision wrong (yes not classy but happens every game and a Tranmere player did the same in 2nd half and got nothing) and 2nd (unbelievably) for trying to run up field and join a counter attack and he and the Tranmere midfielder just ran into each other. Why didn't Norwood get a yellow for tripping out centre half in the 2nd half as the other way round was a certain yellow. And in fact Bennett might have deserved to be the one sent off for a 2nd yellow for that rough challenge on Kirby. The ref just got so much wrong. There was one point in the 2nd half where the Tranmere GK hoofed it into the stand and they somehow were given the throw to the amazement of everyone present.

But to be fair our manager was almost as bad as the ref. His inability to change tactics or personnel and influence the game in any way is embarrassing.

We've beaten Braintree and Diver this season but no one else in the top 7.

Wait untill you see FGR red card, it's comical.

We were on the attack and you stole the ball and went to counter. Ball was played out wide and had a few burst forward maybe even outnumbering our defence when off the ball Carter trips up Jay Harris (well behind play) for literally no reason at all. Can't have any complaints, booked earlier on and had fouled a few moments earlier.

He didn't trip him deliberately (why would he, we was trying to sprint up field to join in a counter attack). It was just a coming together of two players not looking at each other and their running lines crossing. There was nothing in it and it didn't influence the play because they were so far behind the play. Rediculous decision to even give a foul never mind a card. That was the ref in a nutshell, hopeless.

I (obviously) disagree. Up until the penalty your goalkeeper had kept you in it. We always looked likely to score.

You are right about the play offs though. It's jut nice to at least be involved in the discussion. Maybe Chester will give it a go one day?

Not with the clown Burr in charge.

Trying to quote your post but won't let me?

I'm as honest as they come, obviously have some biases to my team. But as a hole would considerer myself fair.

Some dodgy decisions from officials today and both teams can feel aggrieved in parts. The Harris/Carter was no coming together. Carter flicked a leg to make Harris stumble to the floor. Why did he do it, I will never know. There was no reason to do so, he was never getting back to cover.

We were utter rubbish. FC were strong hard working strong at the back and wanted it more than us. We were flat and looked every inch a middle table side. Looks like this season is going to end with a whimper.

Must say the goalscorer George Thpmson for FC looks a player. Best player on the pitch by a mile today.
We let Thomson go there in January, still a bit disappointed about it as I believe if he'd have been used better he could have done a job for us.

Just hit "reply" to quote posts.
Well I look forward to the highlights as it was comical either way.

We were particularly bad apparently.
Didn't come back on to the pitch for the second half, total no show against a team who struggled to pass the ball to each other in the first half. We made them look like world beaters after the break. Shocking!!!

F*ck that, I'm behind your lot to win it. A) So we don't have to put up with a summer of 'Cheltenham did it at the first attempt - haha Tranmere' and B) so FGR NEVER get a Football League place as they simply don't deserve one after that shite.

Grimsby for the title, Braintree to win the playoffs so we can all laugh at how much Eastleigh and FGR have wasted to 'perform' like they do.
Don't say that, our fans will start thinking we have a chance again. Cheltnham for me are the best side we have played this season but I don't know how much of a loss Dowes has been for them. I'm pretty much of the same opinion of Bristol Rovers of that I am of Cheltenham. We avoid Cheltenham and I think we will do it. Still got to get them 4 wins to clinch the play-off spots.

I thought FGR weren't dirty and it was just the nasty refs that picked on them?

That's often the case tbf. We in no way deserve to be top of both the team and individual disciplinary tables.

If we win the league it will be a real achievement given the ridiculous amount of cards refs seem desperate to dish out to our players.

You won't win the league. You'll barely have enough players left to fulfil a playoff fixture once suspensions kick in.

Serious question. Should Grimsby lose in the play-off final would many cod heads decide thet couldn't be aresed with the Trophy final?
I think the fact it's directly after playoffs final is a big downer either way. I'd imagine there'll be a lot who can probably only go to one and will obviously pick the playoffs, myself included. I'm not sure how the result of the playoffs will effect it though. Maybe if we won others will go for the party, if we lose others will be too fed up to see us lose there again. If we don't make the playoff final at all however I think we'll take a few more day trippers.

I'd guess we'd take 10/11k to the PO final if we got there. If we lost, I think we'd take about 3k a week later. If we won, I reckon closer to 15k.

First things first.. (I was at the game)

We were poor. Bennett got a stupid yellow card because he had a poor touch, then got angry and kicked the ball away. Then Carter called the Lino a name, and got a yellow, then the ref gave him his marching orders shortly after the break for pulling someone's shirt.

We got a lucky goal on 5 minutes, then just sat back and tried to hold on.

Now, I'm admitting that we were bad, but tranmere were nearly as bad as us!! All they done all game, was get the ball to their huge CB, hoof it towards Norwood, and then hope he ran onto it. They were honestly one of the poorest teams I've seen, they played brilliant last time at the new lawn?

It's all and well saying FGR are shite ect, but at the end of the day we are 19 points ahead of tranmere. Obviously it's disappointed we played poorly today, but it's unfair to say we've been like that all season. Against aldershot we were magnificent, away at guiseley was a fantastic performance, open attacking game.

It's just a bitter response from the tranmere fans on here, because they couldn't beat us with 11 vs 10. And also because they realised their chances of play offs are fading away, and there facing many more years in this league.

P.s Tranmeres ground is outrageously good for this level.

You will outnumber us almost guaranteed - unless we win at Wembley the week before and Fenty puts on free transport. If we've failed in playoffs the FAT is going to be an embarrassment...
No doubt Hurst and Fenty will call the season a success though

Did anyone else see Jack Wiltshire cruising past Prenton Park in a black Ferrari convertible with a blond in the passengers seat about 10mins after full-time. He looked a right bellend, particularly since it was about 4*C outside.

We were on about this the other day at work.
If we are already promoted then it should be one big promotion party at the FA Trophy final.
If we've ballsed up the play offs again - no one will give a toss about the Trophy final is the general feeling.

.

No it`s a bitter response to seeing our team get kicked and elbowed for 87 minutes by a bunch of talentless thugs a decent referee would have reduced to 7 men by full time. Here`s a list what should have been red cards:

Marsh-Brown`s elbow on Matty Hill in the first half. Since when has a blatant elbow to the head been a yellow card? It`s a straight red as far as I know

Bennett`s elbow on Jake Kirkby. Bennett who was already on a yellow got away with that by running away from the incident rubbing his head, screaming for the trainer like a girl. If it was a clash of heads as indicated by the clown with the whistle (I will not call Mr. Busby a referee because he will never be one of those in a thousand years and that is coming from somebody those opinion of officials in this League is beyond contempt) how come he gave us a free kick.

John Parkin`s obvious stamp on Norwood`s arm following a Tranmere corner, something seen by most of the crowd which resulted in Gary Fletcher Taylor losing it in no uncertain terms as Parkin ran as fast as he could towards the half way line. Surprise Surprise this was not seen by the obviously short sighted Mr Busby

All three of those should have resulted in an early bath, on top of the one rightly awarded to Carter, and if your poxy little club in the middle of nowhere with laughable support (congrats on being one of the 112 FGR fans at the game today. That`s a huge following for you isn`t it ? Quite obviously the prospect of visiting a proper ground swelled your ranks from the usual double figures) ever make it to the Football League, and I for one sincerely hope you never do, I think you will find that you will not get away with the sort of out and out thuggery, not to mention the play acting and time wasting which seems to be the norm with some of the bank rolled clubs in this League (Yes I`m talking about you Eastleigh and Dover) we had the misfortune to witness today you will find yourselves playing with 10 or even less men on a regular basis.

Just wondering if any Tranmere or FGR fans could give their views on todays match please.
Stuff like what sort of football each team played, was it played in good spirit, how good was the ref, any particularly bad fouls, etc.......
Cheers.

He was probably looking for a better contract with FGR for next season :£

When it comes to listing the referee's every failing, you know the real reason your team didn't win is because you were crap.
For the record, FGR were pretty dirty, not at all exciting and resorted to a bit of time-wasting at our place the other week.

Didn't go to our game today as there are better options on a sunny Saturday than watching 11 men carry out an exercise in getting 90 minutes closer to the summer holidays. Reading the reports it sounded dull as dishwater, but at least we achieved our aim of crossing another match off the fixture list.
