Hfox used to have his blog as his signature. I visited it but that was on my old laptop. Anyone got a link so we could message him?

Cheers for that Rammy. I was actually in the middle of reading the old Promotion Wars thread. Does anyone know of a way to download entire threads more efficiently than saving them page by page? I'm sure everyone has threads they love like the Redka dominoes one (Actually Redka is not banned on this site so could return :-O )

To follow on from what Oaf said, it's also BS for likes of Munkiki, Rammy, Cardsfan who were mid-feature or had been planning for a while. Rammy had a thread that clearly said when his game was starting and for such a dedicated poster to be snubbed like that is poor form from the admins. Munkiki was mid-season in TPLG, and had about 30 players in that. Some of them weren't that prolific across TFF so I hope they can all find their way here as easily as the rest of us have.

While it's all being said I found one/some of the admins quite aloof. I'm not necessarily talking about Mod Factor because I acted like a complete idiot during that as well at times. But on another occasion, one of them asked us as mods to volunteer to do a write up for all the happenings for a particular year on TFF (As a feature to celebrate 10 years of TFF). I wrote a fair whack for 2010 with some pictures and stuff. Other people did a write up for other years 2006-2012ish. Then this admin who had arranged it all, said the feature was cancelled because they couldn't get in touch with who they needed to do the write up for 2002 on TFF or something like that. I said "So what, just post the year write ups that you have it will still be a worthwhile feature" but was ignored. No word of thanks for those who had done write ups.

See, I remember entering Mod Factor way back when I first joined the board, around 2009. This was around the same time that Lew, Nath and others entered. I was treated with complete contempt and suspicion by Woody and LF. There was no welcoming of the new guy, they just went out of their way to obliterate me. I can't remember exactly what was said now but I remember LF calling me something pretty insulting and his justification was that 'it was a test to see how I would react'. You'd have thought I'd enrolled for the army or something, not a football forum.

I've always kept a distance from admin since then. The only ones I got along with was Forever Gold (as he took me under his wing during Mod Factor) and Jax as he could have easily passed for a standard member such were his interactions. Pagnell I found difficult to read on occasions although I've never had any problems personally with him. The others though, not my cup of tea. It doesn't surprise me that their reaction to us moving on from 'them' so quick was to throw a tantrum.

Sorry to keep bringing up names but that Fulham fan cracked me up - anyone in contact with him?

Just invited Destruction, Hurrikeen, Ankelbiter and a couple of others, so hopefully they should arrive and spread their wings with a few others.

Hurrikeen is already signed up mate. Dessy and Ankelbiter would be great additions though

When I first became a mod, I remember Kaawaterloo was there and he actually did a superb job of integrating me into the whole thing. He was a top fella... if the likes of him had been around still, perhaps he'd have helped this all end a bit better.

By the way on the topic of contacting past members... like I said, I'd still like to see some of those former admin come back. Has anybody actually contacted any of them...?

I've got RoversAlias on Facebook, already spoken to him.

Just a quick question to people now...

1) If TFF re-opens, then what is the plan? Do people want to go back there - even if they have done the upgrade and/or this was a joke?

2) Are people going to stay here or use both?

3) If it does re-open and it only stays open until the end of March then I think it would be good if everyone can spread the word as far and wide as possible via PM's and so on - keeping in touch.

Either way - I hope this is used as an alternative for people should TFF re-open.
I'm one of those who doesn't really have a choice. I'm HERE TO STAY.

In all of the time on TFF since the Smat stuff and the bannings, I've tried to stay supportive of the admin team there. Partly because I thought it was my job as a mod to support the admin team (or at least show support on the face of it) and partly because I do think that jobs like that, running a massive forum, are more difficult than they seem and I wanted to try and give credit where I thought it was due.

But I found my support waiving over the last few weeks, and after the sudden disappearance of TFF, I now find myself able to stand up for them no longer.
Well, you'd have made a tremendous Nazi.

Just a tip for anyone finding stragglers, searching "thefootballforum" on Google (or "the football forum" or other alternatives - with quotation marks!) and setting the search limit to just the past 24 hours brings up a lot of results of people posting on other forums about TFF going down. Some of them are people linking to here and letting people know, but I just found one on a Bradford forum with somebody who didn't know where everybody had gone (I've linked them here) so it might be a useful tool for keeping an eye on others who are struggling to find us.

Ha, I have a completely different opinion on him. I'm not going in to the details, but I never spoke to him again afterwards.

Holy shit, that's actually depressing. The thought of people out there asking where TFF has gone, like a lost child asking where their mother is after they've been separated in the mall and the mums been hit by a car or something. :(

Oh really? Was this something to do with when you stopped being a mod...?

I didn't want to set the date to like tomorrow and then have it delete before people got a chance to read it (if they do that on there).

I'll go on Bobs Board and try and get in touch with some of our lot. I know Westbars has made it over here, but no sign of Cashis, SpireiteUK etc, who all posted regularly in the L1 forum.

Aloha!

My thanks to Son of Cod, but if Carel isn't going to revive his Martino gimmick I don't know if any of this is really worth it.

I was only on TFF for the past year, and only really posted in the Championship forum which seems to be one of the areas of the site with the least transfered over thus far, so if anyone knows anyone would be nice.

Used to be a lot of Wolves fans and don't think i've seen any yet. Was a couple of Reading fans too (Ascot, Southbank and one other I think) who I couldn't find on the Reading fansite.

I think with the restart, it would be nice if people got to know those who support teams from other leagues.

I rarely ventured out of League Two so a lot of people here are unfamiliar to me.
