No, I'm sorry, but I agree with Villaboy. If we really cared about keeping the community together we'd have got on our knees and begged Tom F to keep the forum going, rather than pursue a fool's errand like creating another board. People have a shown a complete lack of respect, here.

I think the lengths everybody has gone to to ensure that nobody was left behind is a real testament to how much the people make this forum!

I don't want to go back even if this is some horrible prank. Imagine how those how were regular posters that aren't here feel now? I'd be gutted.

As somebody who was pretty much lost until I remembered to check out goodreads.com, I can tell you that it's pretty horrible. Felt utterly betrayed by people I had a lot of respect for. I hate the thought of others being out there right now who we can't contact feeling the same way.

Shame if he doesn't come over, bit like me, he would post for a while then have a break and return again.

Hadn't they made it clear it was closing regardless though?

I thought I'd of seen M-dogg on here too before now, especially after yesterdays win. He's been a member on here since August but not seen since. Hope he makes it, he's not bad for a red.

It must have been awful. It is really nice to think that people I've never met who I've spent a lot of time arguing and falling out with would do all they can to ensure I made it here.

Over 350 old members back in 24 hours. Nicely done everyone. We're probably about 1/3 to halfway done.

How many active, regular users were there on TFF before its closure, out of interest? I know there were over 20000 registered accounts, but the vast majority were defunct.

When this forum first launched in August, there was a big emphasis on people writing articles, which would be tweeted and thus attract interest to the forum. Not sure why I was added to that group though.

Whether that stays or not, I don't know.

Cheers for that Rammy. I was actually in the middle of reading the old Promotion Wars thread. Does anyone know of a way to download entire threads more efficiently than saving them page by page? I'm sure everyone has threads they love like the Redka dominoes one (Actually Redka is not banned on this site so could return :-O )

To follow on from what Oaf said, it's also BS for likes of Munkiki, Rammy, Cardsfan who were mid-feature or had been planning for a while. Rammy had a thread that clearly said when his game was starting and for such a dedicated poster to be snubbed like that is poor form from the admins. Munkiki was mid-season in TPLG, and had about 30 players in that. Some of them weren't that prolific across TFF so I hope they can all find their way here as easily as the rest of us have.

While it's all being said I found one/some of the admins quite aloof. I'm not necessarily talking about Mod Factor because I acted like a complete idiot during that as well at times. But on another occasion, one of them asked us as mods to volunteer to do a write up for all the happenings for a particular year on TFF (As a feature to celebrate 10 years of TFF). I wrote a fair whack for 2010 with some pictures and stuff. Other people did a write up for other years 2006-2012ish. Then this admin who had arranged it all, said the feature was cancelled because they couldn't get in touch with who they needed to do the write up for 2002 on TFF or something like that. I said "So what, just post the year write ups that you have it will still be a worthwhile feature" but was ignored. No word of thanks for those who had done write ups.

Why does none of that surprise me?

Wasn't even aware of that stuff with the year write ups LR... that's shocking.

It feels like there was a bit of a lack of respect there. It was almost like a "here's your forum, be grateful for what you have" attitude.

Someone said RoversJenny is in contact with him, so they'd ask her to let him know.

And what about my old mate Craig the Dingle fan? Haven't heard from him for a while actually. One of the few decent mods on there.

Has The Hand of Dom found his way here yet? Any other Posh fans here that can get in touch with him? The King of Sheep maybe?
