Hope came on and gave them a focal point which helped, Fleetwood dropped off a they capitalised, they were very basic in how they played, similar to Stanley at the weekend it wasn't one for the purist but if that game went on a few minutes more they probably could of nicked it.

Fleetwood have done that implosion a couple of times haven't they.
Your right mate, threw away a 2 goal lead at Notts County and it finished 2-2
Tried it again at Carlisle, 2 up then back to all square but managed a winner, then the Morecambe game
We've all seen games where our team or the opposition have played the other off the park in the 1st half. Should have been out of sight, fortunately footie doesn't work like that and the second half......well there we go!

Told Wright is injured, so young Seb Auton on the bench.
Who comes in for Vernam and Green? Ainley?Barrington?
Ainley pretty much has to come in at CM unless we change shape doesn't he? So that and Wilson out wide for me. Barrington looks alright but not sure throwing him in is the right thing to do. Have to remember we've got an inexperienced player (in terms of English football) on the other side of the attack.

Charles Vernam out for 4 months, another long term injury to a growing list of ridiculous luck.

Vernam, Thompson, Tharme & Davies are all starters for us and have all had long term injuries. I’ve seen us have some bad luck before, but never like this.
Gutted for him, just as he was hitting form again. Arguably been our best player this season. Everyone seems to be complaining about injuries, but we've surely been hit the worst in terms of key players.

We've had to block new accounts from ticket purchasing as away fans are trying to buy tickets in the home ends tomorrow for some bizarre reason?

Grimsby at home.

So Grimsby’s away form hasn’t been the best. Well here’s the glorious chance to change that. We’ve been terrible, a team of strangers with no cohesion whatsoever, defensively awful. Even last week some cock ups gifted Swindon good chances to punish us.

I’m hoping Mellish finally gets dropped as he’s been the main culprit, but I doubt he will. I’m becoming more and more convinced he has a “must start” clause written into the ridiculously underserved 3 year contract he was rewarded with last month.

Carlisle United 0-1 Grimsby Town

The Williamson honeymoon over and he now realises the mess Simpson has left for him.

My prediction is..

Carlisle 4-0 Grimsby

Why? Because they're a complete bog standard club and not one of their players would get into our team and they also have an injury crisis.

They have a decent manager in Artell though, even if he does talk shite and no doubt he'll say we didn't deserve to beat them and call us the land of the giants as he does.

Pretty sure he used "land of the giants" last weekend to describe Bromley and that was after we won.

I don’t actually disagree with the players comment, although Mcjannet and Svanthorsson probably get into your side.

However, we tend to fare okay with sides who play like we do. Williamson plays in a way that Artell is trying to get us to and we drew away to MK & beat them at home last season, I’d argue we completely outplayed them in both of those games as well.

On current form I don’t think a single one of our players could make a legitimate claim to get in anyone’s team to be honest.

Really?

When Armstrong, Wyke and Jones are the deadliest frontline in this league? Why do you think they're on the most money?

Form is temporary. You've players other teams in this division would want, you're nowhere near the weakest squad in the division.
I just hope you don't click until after next Tuesday.

I don't know enough about their squad really but Thompson gets in over Mellish. Can't see this being a combined xi feature that gets the BBC Sport treatment unfortunately.

Because a fool and their money are easily parted? Seriously on paper it looks decent. Whether it’s just a collection of names as opposed to building them into a team framework is another matter.

Yeah I’ve said we’ve got good players which is why I’ve said all along I’m confident we’ll stay up this season. More confident than a lot of our fans.

But on form so far this season they’ve been crap.

Are they the deadliest though? Notts County when fully fit have a comparable one? Chesterfield's is decent as is ours. Armstrong hasn't really done anything above this level and he has had one decent season hasn't he?

Armstrong was good for more than a year before Carlise to be fair, always a right handful for Harrogate whenever I saw him. Agreed that there are a number of teams with decent firepower. In addition to those listed, Colchester seem to be slipping under the radar a bit in that respect in my opinion. Hard to look past a fully fit Notts attack as the best though. Tried and tested at this level and at this current time. You won't see many strikeforces anywhere in any division lose the goals they did by selling Langstaff and go on to barely seem to be affected.

Thats my point really, Carlisle isn't a complete stand out, its one of the better attacks but other clubs have competitive ones too. Our 3 main strikers scored 57 goals between them last season so on form thats up there (and thats without taking into account the wide forward men like Curtis and Chislett)

Notts score for fun

Colchester do have a decent one, just can't keep them out the other end Lyle Taylor is dangerous.

Chesterfield with Dobra, Berry and Grigg is decent.

The Carlisle signings are good but not stand out at this level, they invested mostly in very good League Two players last winter but their form didn't improve so have to shake off the losing mentality thats probably hung around them more than us for example who made 13-14 signings.

Find the self deprecation from some Carlisle fans mildly amusing, especially when set against others who have them down for winning the League at the end of March to add to the Eurovision Song Contest and Strictly come Dancing!!

I think the first home game for Williamson will give Carlisle the boost they need. Players such as Wyke at this level are playing below their natural standard.

Added to Grimsby’s new injury & suspension issues means a home win is a strong bet. Fill your boots!

Neither has Paul Mullin at anytime in his career yet people wank themselves silly over him tbf.

Carver knows all about Notts forwards and that Langstaff fella, wasn't long ago that he was asking how much he would cost on CUFCs behalf when scoring week in week out

Millwall answered that question.

Rovers home to Salford tonight. Adkins has stuck mainly with the side that has lost the last two and nothing in the selection tonight suggesting a significant change in tactics. Rovers need something from this one but unsure we’ll get it.

What's gone wrong so far? Fancied you to do well this season.

Hope you smash Salford tonight.

No way that’s true.
We may not be the most passionate or noisy supporters, but you’d have to be a bit mad to try the paddock for fun.
Stoke have never.
One Man City fan tried in 1990, fair play to him he stood his ground, on his own.
Swindon.
Behave.
The Swindon lot on here are sound btw , and the beef will soon blow over I’m sure.
We had relative beef with Oxford in the 90’s, and I never understood why.

Know L2 refs get a fair of amount of criticism (much of it justified at times) but fair play to the one in this Tranmere game for not buying that blatant attempt at trying to win a penalty for Salford and booking him for simulation.

I thought Tranmere looked very tidy against us and we'll organised. They just massively lack a goal threat, which is evident tonight.

It does make you realise, watching a lot more of these league 2 games, how poor the standard is at this level. Our game against Accrington involved a lot of balls in the air and this game tonight, there's zero pattern, a lot of it is just hit and hope.

These two look particularly poor in attacking areas. Really lacking any threat.

What a dreadful game of football. The 2 lowest scoring teams in the division and it showed.
