It's hard to say how much the fault is down to him.

The club is a mess from top to bottom at the moment. The fans don't trust the board, the management or the players. They can't relate to the players because we don't know who half of them are.

Flynn has basically thrown all the players under the bus in his post-match interview.

It's amazing how far we've dropped by the way - I've not seen a single good team in League 2 this season (possibly Walsall tbf) and we've been worse than pretty much all of them.
Having that flat cap old school Gary Johnson involved doesn't help probably he's a footballing dinosaur .

So (some) Bradford fans have been saying all
season that they are crap yet now they win a couple in a row and (some) now get offended that fans of another team tell them that they are crap.
Very odd.

I was just talking shite about us bulldozing the league etc. However I thought we'd be doing a lot better than we are so I'm very suprised.

The only hope I see right now is Callum Guy finally being back who is a huge influence and there are more better players to return from injury soon so hopefully we'll have enough to survive.

But what a depressing year it's been.

Yup lots of shite. Far too much shite for a club on the decline.

FGR last season were one. We might be following them this season.
I believe FGR were the 1st League 2 Champions to immediately suffer 2 consecutive relegation back to non-league.

Yes remember that.

Almost as if they went up too soon and couldn’t copy then recover at all .

Who said anything about Cheltenham's level? I didn't even mention Port Vale.

In 6 months we've gone from competing in League 1 to not competing in League 2. I don't care what our "level" is, I care about how far we've dropped in such a short time.
I get that, but sometimes you just have to accept that you'll have periods where you drop off pretty quickly. We did the same last time we came down and it took new owners and an actual corporate offering to turn us around. I'd say you were treading water in league 1 for a while so it can't have been massively surprising that you'd eventually get relegated.

At last a win for the Shrimps, the team is starting to gel now ,we still have alot of injuries but players are slowly getting back to fitness ,good to see Tollit score his 5th of the season ,With the smallest budget we have ever had and the lowest budget of any league 2 team we are going to struggle ,but don't write us off ,we may of lost 6 games this season but it has only been by 1 goal we have drawn 4 ,2 from a losing position and 2 from being 1 -0 up .With the slight abysmal blip of the Accy game last Saturday which Derek punished the players by getting them in the next day for training ,I think we will be OK this season .You could tell what the win yesterday meant for this team ,Derek and the staff and especially the fans ,onwards and upwards .coys

First loss under Lindsey and the first time we haven’t scored at home since September 2023. Vale deserved to edge out the win ultimately. Biggest difference, as has been noted by Lindsey in recent weeks, is our fitness. We look miles off it every game which does make you wonder what Williamson and co were doing in pre-season.

That’s the classic line most new managers use when they first come in the building to buy themselves a bit of time to get new ideas across etc

To be fair I’d say that’s accurate. MK did visibly fatigue in the second half to the point I felt if anyone was to get the next goal it was us rather than conceding the equaliser.

They do and I find it hard to believe. Same systems, analysis, training methods and all involved are experienced and know the fitness level they need to be at.
Having said that the team that relegated us out the league did start that season under Kevin Nolan looking unfit although unfit and lightweight tend to blur into each other.

Similar to us last season I’d say. One thing I will say DM has us very fit this season, last two away games we’ve had to do a lot of chasing at times yet finished the games strong whilst Notts and Dons looked to have run out of gas, both games last 10-15 we looked more likely. Accrington as well where they burnt out and we punished them in injury time.

One huge improvement on last season.

I've obviously had very limited viewing of Crowley but I'm assuming yesterday's performance by him wasn't the norm? He seemed to turn down so many passes, take 6, 7, 8 touches, slow attacks down and then go on random dribbles trying to do it all himself. There's a fine line between trying to be the heartbeat of the side but then being selfish and playing for yourself and I thought he was the latter yesterday.

Decent game, though. County's insistent on short corners yesterday was bizarre, I can't recall anything coming from it.

He purposely under performed so he did not end up taking a step down towards L1 in January.

He’s a good player from the times I’ve seen Notts on TV previously and he stood out for Morecambe in fairness. Against us you could see he is really good technically but a lot of the good stuff he did was from so deep it was in areas we were almost happy to concede it to him.

It was the poorest game Crowley’s had all season, particularly the last half an hour. As you say it’s a fine line because a lot of the time he’ll take an extra touch or ignore an obvious pass and then two seconds later he’s turned and opened up the entire defence, but when it doesn’t come off it’s extremely frustrating. I guess it’s why he’s playing at this level and not higher when he has so much natural talent.

I was fully rattled by that short corner on the stroke of half time when the ref was obviously going to immediately blow up. Don’t mind them normally and we do get some joy, but have a bit of awareness ffs.

Honestly thought neither side created much. You took your chances and we never looked doing so.
Have to admit that if Cooke was playing for Tranmere, Omari Patrick would probably had an assist. Was impressed by him yesterday both offensively and defensively. Has he been playing like that for you or was it just because you were playing us.

We're still naff tbh tbf. Just got two wins against two teams who couldn't finish.

Decent performance for 70 minutes from Crewe Alex yesterday. Set up deep and denied a good Donny side any space to create many chances. We then took one from a fantastic run by Max Conway, who continues to improve week to week. Made some changes which weakened us and allowed them to score and then turn up the pressure.

They had enough chances to win it late on, but given we have 6 first team starters out and our bench was made up of U21 players, I'll take a battling point against a decent side that probably finish in the top 3 this season.

We finished 15th then 16th - hardly treading water. The second season we weren't in the relegation zone at all during the season.

Relegation wasn't surprising, nor is the fact that we are a League 2 team again. What is surprising is how poor we actually are now.

They lost their manager and possibly their best permanent players on promotion.

They then made the wrong appointment as head coach, replaced him too late with an even worse appointment and then went into a spiral.

He's been comfortably our best player this season (limited competition for that title, mind) and his brace against Carlisle is well worth a YouTube.

That would be a superb point if we hadn't have been passing out from the back all season mate.
You've not been successful at it though. It has cost you goals.

Your best results have results in games where you've had less possession, sunk into a deep block and used counter attacking qualities.

He's playing for himself at the moment and needs reigning in. In his defence he's been asked to play in different positions and it's nullified his strengths at times.

Is it a surprise? The signings you made don't really smack of wanting to bounce back at the first attempt and you've seemingly got rid of a couple of your better players. Isn't Matty Taylor one of your better players? He was god awful for us. Plus, bringing in Ryan Bowman, who even a dreadful Shrewsbury side thought was surplus to requirements.

We made the mistake last time we were relegated of making signings on the cheap, so it was no real surprise that we got worse if anything.

This time we have spent big on proven players or the top picks in non league. It might not last, but the signs are good.

Again, I'm not trying to belittle you, but if you take a look from the outside and detach yourself, it's no real surprise at all.
