This thread should be compulsory reading at all hospitals across the world. Think it would be the best therapy imaginable, and free too

And it will only get better once a couple of Barnet's open top bus parade photos crop up.

I get the feeling that we won't get one. Certainly not from Barnet Council.
Would that be generally tinpot behaviour?

I don't get it? What's tinpot about a club helping out its fans?

Nothing. They are loaded as a club so can easily afford it and it is a nightmare journey to make, making it free will get a lot more floating fans there. Good gesture.

The tinpot part being that they had to offer free travel to get decent numbers.
For a playoff Semi Final.
Why do you not get it?
This is the tinpot thread is it not?

See MD's response.

I have plenty of criticism's of Eastleigh but this certainly isn't one of them. In an age where match-going fans are screwed left, right and centre, surely this should be welcomed?

I welcome it in the fact that it will make a better atmosphere for the second leg, but the need to do this gesture for such a big game anyway, surely stinks of tinpottedness?
If they thought they would sell out our away end anyway, would they still be offering the free travel?
I doubt it, hence --- Tinpot!!

Nope, you're wide of the mark here. As someone else said, it's impossible to get to Cleethorpes from Eastleigh and back by public transport on a weekday evening.

Funny that though as we play there on a Thursday night and have sold over 500 tickets with no free coaches.
Guess they must all be walking it then........:dk:

I don't get the issue here. It's obviously clear that without it Eastleigh would have taken about 13 fans so it's a good idea to try and get more of them to turn up. You might get 50 odd if you're lucky.

I imagine that there are a lot of exiled Grimbarians in London and the South-East, who would find it pretty easy to get to a match at Eastleigh on a weeknight. I'm pretty sure there are no Eastleigh fans in North East Lincolnshire.

I didn't say it was not a good idea, I said it was tinpot, as this is the tinpot section, it belongs in here.
Whether it is a good idea, or nice gesture etc is irrelevant, this is the tinpot section, hence, here it is!

Yes of course, all our fans at Eastleigh tomorrow night all live in the South East, as nobody up here has a car or is prepared to pay to go by coach, how stupid of me. :ffs:

Just want to throw this one in here from us earlier on in the season. Written on a bedsheet before being hastily taken away by the culprit when the stewards came looking. Tragic.

View attachment 857

We had someone a few years ago hold up a "Parry Out" banner on what looked like piss stained bed sheets. Either they didn't fancy revealing their identity or they were just genuinely embarrassed they'd used a sheet which hadn't seen a washing machine in about 5 years as they were wearing balaclava to cover their face!

Not exactly non-league but Paolo di Canio when he was at Swindon was enraged when he came to Crewe to discover the dugouts were basically blue coloured seats in our Main Stand.

Are we the only club in the Football League that doesn't have a proper dugout?
