Geese stop play: Bracknell’s trip to Eversley halted by goose poo

Bracknell Town’s trip to Eversley & California was called off by the referee this evening due to a flock of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) setting up a mobile toilet on the Fox Lane pitch.

Bracknell manager Keith Penicott-Bowen was said – tongue in cheek – to be spitting feathers at the geese who put paid to his sides third game in four days after Saturday’s win over Guildford City and Monday’s defeat to Conference South Maidenhead United.

So Southend United back in Feb/March, I think it was, bought a huge soccer dome. An indoor training arena that will go on the current outdoor training site - unveiled with the promise that the club would have 'Premier League standard training facilities' whether that's Bournemouth style or Man Utd who knows.

Anyway it's so massive it needs planning permission, which as of yet hasn't been granted. Since this time the structure, which is basically flat pack. has been sitting out where it's hoped to be built. In true flat pack style each piece has a number which coincides to the next to fit it all together. Sadly whilst it's been outside the rain/heat/weather has disappeared loads of the numbers. Cue farcical scenes to come whenever planning permission goes through (even funnier if it never does and this thing just lies there getting ever more weather beaten) and some poor sods have to work out which bit goes where.

Yeah, I picked up on our Twitter last night (as have many other fans). I wasn't at the game but was following it on there and the contract between tweets from fans/journalists and our twitter feed was terrible.

Wasn't the normal guy, though. He must be on holiday because none of the tweets read like he's done them. I'm assuming it was someone trying to be funny and failing miserably.
