"The travelling Shaymen weren't sold chips. They were sold a vision. A vision that gave them two seasons of losing to Eastleigh with an option for another year whilst EFC hoped to climb a division, maybe two. Sure there were other clubs selling chips and in a higher division, but they only offered brown sauce. The burgers that we sell them, are somewhere in the region of £4 higher that what we would have priced "another" run of the mill club in this league. So given we have sold 20 burgers this year and are now used to away fans and enjoying our chip vans again, i would say that was an extra £4 well spent. We have also rarely had food poisoning, so it's worth a lot more than a run of the mill tray of chips or a tea girl who thinks she is better than she is, but spits in the mushy peas 2 months each season. With all the burger money and the extra play off games, plus the unexpected large attendances we have had this year, we have recouped our tea hut overheads 10 fold. You see its all about vision. Not just taking an average Conf Prem deep fat fryer, to do an average Conf prem job.... So now tell me the Shay chips are only £2.30 with extra peas. You Halifax fans haven't a clue what goes on at your club. The Shay tea hut cost you £250k cash in the first place, now who's the big spenders.Show me another club at this level who is doing anything like that!?"
