The Channel Islands have historically had a large Portuguese community, a lot of them came over as wages to do a lot of service sector work were much higher than in Portugal.

In our FA Youth Cup game at home to Doncaster last night, the referee went off injured early second half, meaning one of the linesmen had to fill in as ref. But now we're a linesman short, who will step up to the plate? Steven Pattison, a Carlisle United Director, obviously.

Anyway the game ends 0-0 and goes to extra-time, where Pattison awards us a penalty (which was converted). With just minutes to play, Donny score, only for it to be ruled out (apparently the player was at least a yard onside) for offside by Pattison. Some of our fans will tell you it's his only useful contribution to the club.
