The north starts at Crewe, in between Chesterfield and Sheffield and at Retford.

I have always thought the north began around Stoke, at which point you are definitely not in the midlands. You should then draw an imaginary line north east towards Hull, anything to the north of that is definitely not midlands, but anything to the south of it is. Thus cities like Sheffield and Doncaster are north, whereas Nottingham and Lincoln are east midlands.

I'd agree with that. Similarly at the southern end of the Midlands, I'd draw a line from around Stroud (or somewhere north of Bristol at least), north east to Kings Lynn. I don't really consider East Anglia to be part of the Midlands.

Midlands is anywhere south of a line that bisects Chester, Sheffield and Grimsby.

South is more difficult. I see Worcester, Cambridge and Northampton as Midlands, but I can't get to grips with East Angular.

Edit: Incidentally, I've heard people from Stoke and Boston claim they're northerners. No.

People from Stoke are barely human.

This comment from an fgr fan is extremely tinpot. . . .

"Hopefully I'm wrong as I think he is great manager...... But did I hear mark cooper use the f work in the first half which I think i heard from the west terrace. I was planning to write an official complaint to club about it so can someone please correct me that is was not mark. Managers need behave in line with their position and children should not be subjected to that language from positions of responsibility, and hopefully from nowhere."

I think traditionally the northern counties began at Lancashire and Yorkshire and the South started at Cambridge and Oxford but its so daft now that Gloucester can be in the north to keep Leagues at the right numbers and as hard as I try, I just can't believe that ....I know it's all about doing the right thing but you have to at least try to make it believable.....basically, it's all perception and I suppose that's what keeps life interesting......one of the funniest things I saw was Wolves fans chanting "we hate the Geordies" and looking very confused when Boro fans joined in with them but getting very annoyed when we called them Cockneys....(but to some up here, everyone south of York is a Cockney....

Hull City put their chants on the back of their sponsor boards.

Its a bit like when people (English people) call Wrexham fans 'Taffys'. Which, obviously, refers specifically to South Walians.

Cambridge feels more South to me whereas Northamption just about feels Midlands.

It's a bit like how Hereford is further South than them both but feels the least like it of them all. Probably the cross-country aspect with us being so far West.

Agree with Pliny about the North. South starts after Peterborough and Birmingham. Everywhere inbetween is Midlands.

Hahaha where is that from?

And who the fuck is Man of Kent? Maybe a few chants of Man Of Kent what a wanker at the Dagenham game are in order? Official complaint? At a manager dropping an f bomb? Fuck off.

Wat does he expect at football.

Good job you never had Rob Scott as your manager then!

Funny, I tend to avoid Gloucester - I had the misfortune of living there for a year. It's a strange place.

Cheltenham is a fair bit nicer of course.
It sure is. Stopped off on way back from forest green. Near station awful concrete buildings. Thought it was some posh cotawolds town/city

Gloucester is a dump, next time stop off at Cheltenham instead! Much nicer, Gloucester is a northern city slighter to far south.

Sure was. Seemed worse than luton. At least near luton station you got a good kebab with meat off a skewer. One in gloucester was a few manky chicken bits microwaved. Seemed to be some reggae fest on in market square. Thought i was in brixton

You obviously haven't been to Brixton recently gene. Unfortunately the vibrant "reggae" identity of Brixton is being gentrified out.

This will take some beating :lol:
QdP6bjb.jpg

Forest Green Rovers, the world’s first vegan football club, has beaten the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United to become the first on the planet to launch its own trading card game.

Currently top of the National League, the club has created FGR Club Clash, its very own table top trading card contest, featuring all of the club’s players and management, alongside bespoke match cards.

FGR Club Clash gives fans the chance to pit their favourite players in tactical battles against their friends and family.

Dale Vince, FGR chairman, said: “Top Trumps style card games like this are hugely popular with fans of all ages - and creating our own FGR version is really quite special.

“It’s a beautifully designed, really well thought through, and hugely playable game - we think our fans will love it – and who knows, it could well start a trend.”

Forest Green has captured the headlines on more than one occasion in recent years. In 2010, FGR announced it was removing red meat from its menu, becoming an all-vegetarian outfit – and then became the world’s first vegan football club in 2015, winning plaudits from Paul McCartney amongst others.

Dale continued: “Football is a relatively new frontier for these kinds of ideas, but our aim is to change that and bring the environment into the DNA of football more generally - not just FGR.”

Forest Green Rovers will unveil the game at a special event at its home stadium, The New Lawn, at 12.30pm on Thursday 27 October. It will be available from the club shop from that date, before going on sale from the club website and Atlantic Games in Stroud from Monday 31 October.

Club Clash attempts to recreate the drama of the beautiful game, as each player aims to score more goals than their opponent over the course of two halves. Goals are scored by using a combination of player cards - which have both defence and attack stats, coach cards - which give you the chance to gain an advantage, and match cards - which can change the result of the game.

Fans can get started by buying a starter pack, which include 50 cards, enough for two players to have a game straight away. They can then add to their collection by purchasing booster packs, which consist of 10 random cards from the entire set.

Launching at the end of October, there are over 80 cards to collect, with fun match cards including ‘Vegan Superpowers’, ‘the Green Devil’ and ‘Total Football’.

A starter pack costs £9.99 with booster packs on sale for £2.65.
