Looks like we’re getting taken over by a local tycoon next week. He’s worth over 100m and is a property developer. He’s well respected and from the town so let’s see. What I hear is that he will get the club and the ground. The last part concerns me a bit but let’s see

Always gotta be cautious when it's a property developer interested, but he's a local lad done well, very well in fact, good mates with Steve Gibson, even has a exec box at Boro, we're in a position now were beggars can't be choosers, it's a make or break week, sounds like the council have finally recognised the importance of the football club to the town and helped facilitated the deal, fingers toes and testicles crossed it doesn't fall through.

I met one who's really a Newcastle fan and has been to more of OUR games than he has of yours.:fl:
Nobody really gives a fuck about Gateshead. :bdick:
More history than your club

We may be crap on the field currently, but today has proven yet again just how lucky we are to have Oliver Ash and Terry Casey as owners. Posted 200k+ profits for the year, making it 5 years running posting profits. A far cry from where we were when they first took over.

300-400k in debt, a week from going belly up again & playing 27 miles away in Ashford with no sign of ever returning to Maidstone......We really were in a right mess before they saved us.

Annnnnd it's fallen through.

"No one has ever made money out of this club. That was never my intention and I was prepared to provide finance to the value of over £1.5m, but I am not prepared to sign blank cheques, with no end in sight"

We must be in a fucking horrendous financial state

Admin it is and then ultimately liquidation?

More worrying is the state of the clubs accounts if it's been impossible for him to determine the extent of finance required to become solvent.

Fucking gutted. Our only hope. Suspect tonight may be our last ever game as Hartlepool United FC. Saturday was certainly the last time I'll ever see Pools play at The Vic.

The c*** responsible have to be held accountable. I can't think of a punishment bad enough that they deserve

Coxall, Goldberg and Duxbury, thieving conmen, filled their pockets and left us to die, how can this have happened, two years ago we were debt free and now we're £2/3 million in the red? This is criminal what has happened and unless by some miracle another buyer turns up we are dead.

Hartlepool 2468 in the jumpers for goalposts league here we come

Been there, endured that. Get ready to bite the bullet mate, the end will be nasty (that Friday afternoon and evening in May 2008 are burned into the memories of all Shaymen - one wrote on the forum that his wife had "just walked in and found me crying") but the next few years are going to reinvigorate your club and supporters and you'll enjoy it all more than you can possibly imagine, right now. Chester and Hereford will tell you exactly the same. #LongLiveThePools

Just thank God that you don't own your ground! Your resurrection will be so much more straightforward.

Ultimately going into administration will be the best thing for Hartlepool. It will give the fans the chance to buy the club.

Surely Admin will mean that the clubs debts are basically written off if a new owner is to potentially come in?

Of course that is not what we want to see, and the -10 points or whatever it is as well all staff basically being told to leave, but for the long term of the club surviving as Hartlepool United FC, Admin could be the only answer to get rid of the debts?

Debts of millions are just forgotten and they're allowed to carry on as new?

These debts have to be paid off somehow I'd imagine.

The debts won’t be fully written off. The Inland Revenue for example typically require full repayment. However, a certain percentage of the debts can be written off if other creditors accept partial repayment of what they are owed. I think when we went into admin in 2004 we ended up paying something like 28p for every £1 owed.

Just to caveat that those debts were run up on purpose by our then owner to try and force the club from The Racecourse so that he could turn it into an Ikea. We also had assets in the form of our ground back then.

Gutted but I’m a strange wayit’s a weight lifted off me. I was so low after Saturday, the crap we’ve been through as a club off the field, getting relegated, getting dicked off teams I’d never believed would happen has taken too much toll on my life. You can probably tell that with some of my posts on here.

Now we have a chance to rise again under the trust who I back. We need the fans to get behind that not bicker and shit stir which has been happening.

I’ve heard that because we have the ground, we’d probably get into the Evo Stik. Start again as a part time community run team with huge crowds for the level and hopefully win some games. Sounds alright to me. Build again with everyone behind it and we can rise again. If there’s one club that deserves that, it’s us.

The fact the council own the ground is one good thing, a separate entity out of the administrators hands if and when the club is dissolved. It's as safe as it can be in those hands and should make reaching an agreement to play there easy enough in whatever form Hartlepool consist of in the future.

Administration and then liquidation seems inevitable if we are talking millions as that simply can't be turned around at this level. The people responsible have seemingly not presented a true reflection of the financial state of play to a potential investor to have a look, and that is damning. It's ok saying create a new club 4 divisions down but you need a group of switched on people with plenty of time on their hands and the drive required to sort things like that out and to be running a club from the ground up (all on a voluntary basis remember). If those people already exist then they should be making moves towards that sort of emergency plan right now in all honesty.

I hope so mate.

Anyone know how to get to Halesowen??

Yep, I've been to The Grove It's a very old ground in the West Midlands, opens ye' eyes some of these evo-stik grounds, pulled up at the unused and falling to pieces turnstiles at the other end of the ground. With the old gates and fencing looking like a scene from an old horror movie.

And Darlo

On a serious note. The FA should introduce penalties for owners that wreck proud clubs with their financial idiocy instead of punishing the club and supporters with point deductions as well as all the grief that comes with it.

I bet the twats that got Hartlepool in this mess wouldn't have done so if they knew they'd get punished personally for screwing up.

Worrying times for you guys, I didn't think Darlo would be alive and kicking today after the carry on at our club, and the only people at fault with Darlo are those that ran the club badly and into the ground, how on earth we didn't fold god only knows.

Best of luck Poolie, despite difficulties hang on in there.

Ties up with Bignot stating no loans could be extended and youth players would need to play a part.

Breaking news from Macc. Massive surge in number of requests to borrow our buckets. Chester been told to get in the queue behind Hartlepool and Woking.

It's been rumoured for a while. I have no idea why they've got a paid CEO on 50k a year to start with, we don't have one anymore and even when we did it wasn't a paid role. Day-to-day stuff is just delegated between voluntary board members which each having a responsibility for certain parts of the club/business. We are lucky to have those people in charge of us, we'd be in a similar mess without them.

It is complete mismanagement from the board so Chester need to look at everything from top down and trim it right down, every little tiny detail. They should still be able to cope at this level on their attendances if run properly. However, if relegated then I don't see them coming back anytime soon, the NLN is too tough to get out of without serious cash.

We got rid of our CEO as well (well, he took a 50% pay-cut at the start of the first season then left for Forest at the end of it). We've only just replaced him this summer.

I was gobsmacked at the amount of people Hartlepool employ on the playing side.
