There's no way we are finishing anywhere near third. I expect us to finish in a similar position to last season, although it'd be nice to challenge for a playoff place.

And - as much damage as Still has caused here - there is no way we finish 19th.

We've done little on or off the pitch to back up the bookies odds, and the predictions on here. We're probably still 3/4 players short in wide and attacking areas before i'll say I fancy us to have a good go.

I am a bit reticent about predicting how well we’ll do but there’s no way we’ll finish 19th and 5 places below Aldershot, 12 places below B’wood and 14 places below Bromley. We suffered half a season of Still’s mogadon football and we still finished 12th.

May be wrong but think Bromley will do well and Aldershot have signed some good players.

We have signed solid defensive players, but I am currently unconvinced by any of the attacking signings, although we only have 12 players signed so we still have a third of the squad to fill.

People are basing it on you doing a Luton/Orient type promotion. I could see it.

We still don't have any real wingers and one decent striker so we're very light in that area so can't see us tearing up any trees yet. We'll have a couple more signings done this week potentially so might be a bit more confident come then.

You can do it on manager alone, look at Braintree under the Cowleys.

You probably won't win the league but I think you'll likely finish in the play offs with Sheridan in charge.

Lincoln didn’t have a prolific goalscorer when they won the league either. Nor did Macc, I used to think it was essential to win this league but these days it isn’t.

Last season Bonne scored most of his goals in the first half of the season.

Said it before, I’d much rather have two 10/15 goal scorers rather than just one scoring 20/30. You lose this main man and you’re buggered, whereas the other style, you lose one and you still have a solid replacement who’s been scoring goals. Never understood why people always want that 20/30 goal striker and think it’s an integral part of recruitment.

Yes but you cant guarantee 2 players are going to get you that amount of goals and who is to say they wouldn't get that with a striker that hits 30? What if both players get injured? You are always better with a 25/30 goal striker

Harrogate have been top goal scorers in the league, two seasons in a row, last season with only one player with 15 goals and the season before with no player in the top ten for the league (NLN).
This season we have 3 strikers capable of 15+, all the first team from last season and a shored up defense. Should be good for top 4 this season.

I'm expecting harrogate to be right up there. Very good footballing side. Isnt that little lad you have in midfield moving to orient though? I think he's your best player

You realise that two strikers scoring 10/15 and one scoring 20/30 is basically the same, right? The only difference being that you’re most likely completely stuffed in the second scenario if they get injured. You can’t guarantee any signing will score X amount of goals. It’s just an ‘either or’ scenario that I wanted to create, because I’m fun like that..

It’s a quirk, indulge me.

Our game with Notts County has been moved to the Sunday, 18th August.

I expected this, makes it a little more difficult for you guys to get to us, would have been a decent enough attendance too.

The Dover game in December will also probably be moved.

Fylde are my pick for the title this season, with Harrogate, Wrexham and maybe Chesterfield as the main challengers. Josh Falkingham is the small lad. I heard the rumor but I think that's all it is. He's also U19 manager and we'll involved with the youth setup so I can't imagine he's agreed to all that just to sign for another club. Think he only resigned last season for 3 year.

I'd already booked a hotel on the Saturday night (at an inflated rate due to Blues fans getting there first) so I'm alright. I still think we'll have around 1500 there. At most, the Sunday KO will knock 200 off what we would've brought. If anyone knows of any respectable County pubs we could pop into for a decent chat with County fans where we won't get lynched (we won't be wearing colours) please PM me.

Would have Harrogate down as dark horses for sure. They've signed some decent players in this window and have somehow slipped under the radar. I'll be very surprised if they don't end up in the play-offs again and could very well mount a title challenge. The league isn't overly strong this year.

Anything less then play offs will be a disappointment. . .especially now its £18! to get in. I don't know how so many people can afford to follow their teams around everywhere at this level. I almost don't want them to get promoted, would barely be able to afford to go.
Wrexham look good for another challenge this year. Surely you can't be cursed in the NL for ever!

We’re a pretty reasonable lot to be honest, I can’t really think of anywhere that is home fans only other than for derbies, apart from the bar actually at the ground.

Depends what you’re after - decent beer, live sport, food etc

Had a message on here from a fan, live sport and relatively decent beer (cannot stand carling) is enough for me.

Surprised a few are writing off Chesterfield. They’re a couple of players short but there is a fair bit of time for incomings yet. Boden will score goals and Mandeville is a good signing. Sheridan knows how to win promotions. They’ll be there or there abouts.

If Sheridan is still there at the end of the season then they will be comfortably in the play-offs at absolute worst, but that's 50/50 at best.
