Woking were good tonight, fair play.

We were terrible, all compounded by a fecking stupid back pass from an atrocious Halls. Take him back Macc, please.
Nah can't be the same Halls most in DevaChat were over the moon about stealing away from us? Oh and James? And McCombe?

We did warn you!!

In all seriousness, credit must be given to Macclesfield. We shouldn't forget that they were just 15 seconds away from liquidating this summer and John Askey had to put his squad together with merely a Haribo Starmix Fried Egg and a Orange Fruit Shoot, 12 hours before the season started.

You utter, utter bastards!

Didn't deserve it at all mate, you could've been 2 nil up at half time. I'd rather play with 10 men than have Scott Harrison starting at centre back. Could not cope with your long balls and both strikers should've had their names on the scoresheet. Second half much the same, couple of good saves by Loach. We hit the post, but fuck all else really. Far far far too negative. Against a team who haven't won away all season. Somehow we keep getting the results though

Heh, I know.

James has been fine so far to be fair, and McCombe is alright as well. Halls though.... :ffs:

You forgot the 'being 20 minutes away from liquidation' and then they suddenly assemble a pretty good squad with a week to go until the start of the season. Add in the usual Askey being "flattered" and flirting with other clubs even though he hasn't left the vicinity of Macclesfield for over 30 years and that's the season in a nutshell.

To be fair things have gotten a lot more stable at the club in terms of finances so no "20 mins from death" this summer!!

Plus when you have the likes of Danny Whitaker hanging around PLAYING 400 GAMES it shows the trust players put in Askey.

Got out of jail big time there, CH is far too negative at home, one striker up top all game, if Barrow had a striker upfront instead of two big dummies they'd of won that, both missed sitters.

Deverdics best player on the pitch by a mile and for some reason he's still stuck at left back.

Glad to get the three points on Danny Whittakers 400th appearance for Macclesfield, but we didn't deserve it.

Agreed. No creativity at all and didn't deserve anything out the game.

We need to rethink how we play at home, it's so turgid and predictable. Playing like we do keeps even more limited sides than us in the game, hence the mediocre home record.

Harrison got lucky tonight but he needs to change his ways if he's going to meet expectations this season.

Don't fall for the Fruit Shoot, it was actually an emptied bottle just refilled with tap water and a drop of Aldi double concentrate squash.

Danny Whitaker's 400th game for Macclesfield went largely without incident at the Shay, with Wrecsam putting in a tight, pressing game without making in-roads, and the Shaymen lacking a bit of bottle on the night. I'm hoping his 401st appearance, likely to coincide with our trip to Morning Wood this weekend, will be more eventful.

Comfortable 2-0 win for Bromley tonight against a surprisingly niggly Maidstone team. Very solid at the back with Dan Johnson impressing again against his former club.

I fell asleep 20 mins in listening to the commentary, safe in the knowledge it would end 0-0. We are going unbeaten until April but will finish 14th.

Maidstone were bloody awful tonight, Bromley not a huge amount better in honesty but did enough. Just not enough efforts on goal from either side, with the two goals coming from a free kick and then a scrappy rebound in the last minute. Nice pies though.

Danny Whitaker.

I've noticed that there is a bizarre individual on the Halifax forum, who goes on about yellow cards non-stop and has been researching the heights of individual players who have scored against us this season. Freak.

Never thought we would be 3rd EVER this season.

Worth noting we beat Macclesfield away earier in the season in Danny Whittaker's 393rd game.

All hail Danny Whitaker. Here's to 400 more.

This league is officially crap. Last seasons Lincoln or Tranny teams would win it by a country mile.
It's anyone's league may the worst team win it and they probably will.

Confidently predicting that we will look much the better side for 80% of tomorrow night’s match, miss a series of good chances and lose 4-0 (at least three coming from set pieces).
Rovers don’t score from set pieces.

Just gutted our game got moved so not playing the same night as Macclesfield legend Danny Whitaker’s 400th game for the Silkmen.

Nah - Chester are a bit to far adrift. Is it possible for a team to draw their remaining games 0-0 and win the league though????:2thumb:

Very impressed with Woking last night. Despite losing, we did gift them both goals, our GK never have a shot to save. 2 Ryan Astles efforts came back off the woodwork, but no complaints we were totally outplayed. Marcus Bignot will deserve the Freedom of Chester if he can get us out of the mess McCarthy has left us in. I doubt Liam Davies would be good enough for Newton Athletic (Chester & District League). Andy Halls would currently be in my worst ever Chester XI with McCombe not far off either. Kinsley James missed the goal with a free header a yard out. Conversely we lost Elliot Durrell to Macclefield because he questioned McCarthy's barmpot tactics. On the bright side we'll be playing Stockport, York City, Chorley, Curzon Ashton, Kidderminster, FCUM, Boston and Telford next season.

I actually like Chester as a club- always a nice away day. However, I am very happy that you have realised that Andy Halls is a waste of space. The way he slagged us off this summer on Twitter and his bang average performances last season, we always knew that he be going one way after leaving us and that way is down. Definitely not conference standard. Stealing a living.

Urgh, it wasn't good was it. I'll attribute it to tiredness after the long Barrow trip plus we never seemingly show up against Bromley. They have our number for some reason.

Didn't like that twitter outburst myself either really. The lad seems to think he is god's gift.
