It's still strange for me to think that today we're playing Wrexham in a top of the table (well top end of the table) match in the Conference proper. It was only a few years ago our plucky Conference South lads were taught a lesson by Wrexham in the FA Trophy.
3rd game in a massive week for the U's. Eastmond (almost certainly) and Beautyman (I think) will be back today to strengthen the midfield. Ex-bobbin Byron Harrison will be in the squad as he begins the process of cleansing himself of his verminous past.

I'm finding this game hard to call in regards to score and result though

When we played Bromley last season at home we played a 4-2-4 with Ben Tollitt on the wing, absolutely destroyed them for the first 50 minutes of that game. The football was so good it could have been a championship team vs non league opposition. That was until the referee got involved to claw back a 2-2 draw in one of two similar games (the other being Chester) that most fans look to as where the 4pts we missed out on the title by were lost.

Some “revenge” for that tomorrow wouldn’t go amiss.

I agree with most of that except for your comment about the referee getting involved. He didn’t. What he did do was allow that nasty snide George Porter to get in his ear, wave imaginary cards around and for him and his team mates to bully him into sending Adam Buxton off by mobbing him while the player Buxton tackled was getting up and trying to take a throw in like nothing had happen. I just hope that today’s ref has more bottle than the guy we had last time we played Bromley at Prenton Park otherwise we might see the same again.

We struggle against any side that is well organised, sits everyone behind the ball and plays for a point. For whatever reason we never seem to be able to break them down. We only have one way of playing, it doesn’t change at home/away or in respect of the opponent. We get the ball down and play. We always perform better against sides that also do that. When we lined up against Macclesfield I thought Christ these are the only side I’ve seen this season that are similar height to us so they also have to get the ball down and play. Even at 5 nil down they continued to do that. Like us they can’t go long and hit some big dopes head like Denton.

There is no play B, earlier this season and especially in the previous division we were crying out for some height and physical attributes but chally continued with the midgets and his way of playing football and I applaud him for that. Aldershot earlier in the season played football and rightly beat us but teams like Chester, Halifax, Salford we always struggle against

I'm sorry but your argument doesn't pass muster. One of the big problems we've had this season is that Bignot has not been able to organise us.

Depends how well Wrexham land their quadruple twisting somersault in straddled pike position. Their degree of difficulty rating will be much higher, but if they don’t execute properly then Sutton’s ability for hoofing their way to a good time of flight score could see them nick it.

Classic Askey not wanting to change a side that won the previous game. Fear we'll get overrun in midfield, after so many games where he has stuck with 1 up front at home he now puts 2 up front away to Aldershot. Brave.

I thought about this earlier. Are we better going man to man in midfield against Aldershots 4-1-4-1 formation and trying to stifle the game or just stick to what we do best and keep Marsh in as that link between midfield and the striker? I personally say the latter, we are useless when the front man becomes isolated, and we need to take something today.

Pitch looks decent though on Twitter so should suit us.

Elokobi starts again after his nightmare last week. Hopefully Rowe hasn’t got his shooting boots on or we’ll get destroyed.

Just like to point out that Luke James has his first goal for Barrow. The lad is class.

Explain the sending off/penalty. Was it a genuine attempt for the ball? If it was (which I can't imagine why it wouldn't be) then it should not have been a red.

Pulled Blissett back as last man, so no not a genuine attempt for the ball.

One up against what looks a decent Bromley team so far .

Though their time wasting started in the warm up

Aldershot have been by far the better team for 40 minutes, passing and movement is a level above this league.

Think Bromley have got into us, made things difficult from the off. Yet so far they’ve not done much in the final third and Rovers had a few chances before a keeper error allowed Jennings to put us in front. Long way to go, think we need to improve second half.

Lost 1 nil at home against Leyton Orient. Our first league defeat at home since September. I was impressed with Leyton Orient again. Wasn’t much in the game but thought they edged it. We barely tested their keeper, which isn’t like us and shows how well they defended. That Bonne looks a good player for them. I think we’ll probably just miss out on the play offs. We’re certainly not good enough to go up. I think they’ll be right up there next season as well

Completely different match second half.

Franks with the touch of a shithouse at the end to fluff a golden opportunity..

Wow. That sounded like an absolute barnstormer of a game that I'm not sure we deserved to win! But I don't care one iota about performances anymore, that is a fucking huge 3 points.
