Please show where I was showing bias there, almost as ridiculous as the claims of bias (despite you evidence to the contrary), you’re coming across as extremely bitter here.
Throwing a ball at a player in an aggressive manner is a booking at least, but no action at all.

You are coming across as extremely stupid.

Wow, one subjective incident. Damming evidence of bias! Laughable,
Dry your eyes and have a break you are making a total fool of yourself here.

As far as I’m aware, our games are legally obliged to end 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1, so it’s a possibility.
Our record this season against the top 5:

5 games
5 defeats
0 goals scored
9 conceded
4 players sent off

As mentioned a few posts back, todays result is typical Halifax Town. Lose to the whipping boys then days later beat top of the league away. First half, we were up against it with the wind but restricted Torquay to half chances other than the penalty. Second half, we were the better side and came away with a deserved win.

I was really surprised by how ordinary Torquay were. Had it not been for the 2 penalties, I don't think they would have scored. Don't really recall any clear cut chances at all for Torquay and despite our first being a freak own goal, we scored 2 decent goals through Earing and King as well as Campbell missing a sitter at 1-1.

Happy Shayman tonight but we won't make the playoffs. Injuries and inconsistency is the story of our season. Just hope we can ruffle up a few feathers along the way and give it the best go possible

You may get a chance to change that on Tuesday if our last couple of performances are anything to go by! We *should* be looking to do what Chessie did to us yesterday, play high up the pitch, get in your faces, don’t let you settle.. but I doubt we will. Sounds like you’ll be a couple short tho?

Always think that Sutton look like a well run club and their growth since bringing in the plastic has been remarkable. They have set the route map on how traditional NL sides can thrive at this level.

If they get promoted into the EFL it will fantastic for all the old fashioned NL sides and a brilliant kick in the teeth for the BELTs. I can’t talk about biased refs as I have given up watching streams. If I wanted to watch my team just on a TV screen, I’d support Man United.

Don’t Sutton do this every year though? They look like they’re going to romp it until someone behind the scenes gives the manager a wink and a nod about financial implication of promotion and their steady decline down the table begins :animatedf:

Yep. Going up would RUIN them. They’ll conveniently finish 8th I reckon.

We can't do it with our midfield, only Reeves has the legs.

What's happened to Torquay. 1 win in the last 7 and piling up debt.

Totally agree with the sentiments about Sutton. Alot to admire there; well run club that don't appear to overspend, good facilities, have gradually built a strong squad and are a force to be reckoned with in the division. Would love to see them in the EFL. A good blueprint for the Stones to follow.

Bugiel was also booked just before he was subbed off. Other than Charles’ two yellows (the first for pulling a player who wasn’t on the ball yet, and the second some time after a foul was awarded and as we Milsom was about to free kick, and after a good moan by Charles, so essentially for dissent) and the yellow for that outrageous dive to try and win a penalty how many other yellows did Wealdstone pick up? None (according to the match report). You had one more yellow card than Sutton and that was essentially a player who was a double yellow card waiting to happen. And I would hazard a guess the foul count was pretty similar. Wealdstone literally weren’t the victims of anything other than being well beaten.

The second yellow for Charles was for the foul which was completely accidental. Since the Sutton commentators thought it was for dissent, imo it didn’t warrant a second yellow.

No issues with the referee other than that, maybe we’d have done something with 11 players but we were masters of our own downfall. Sutton are just sound from 1 to 11, do the basics really well but from both games this season have played some excellent, technical football too.

Good to get Ross Lafayette back, even during that brief 10 minute cameo appearance he was able to hold the ball up and get us further up the pitch.

I try not to listen to the commentary on our stream.

I think the delay between the foul (which was one of those which were silly to make if you’re already on a yellow accidental or not) and the second yellow, and the fact the guy was mouthing off at the ref the whole while in between does support the idea it may have been for dissent. Or at least he talked himself into a second yellow. Louis John’s booking and Dyer’s yellow for diving suggests a pattern with the ref.
Unfortunately for Wealdstone, Charles was a second yellow waiting to happen, if he hadn’t got his second yellow when he did, he likely may have received one later. Once Bugiel was booked it does seem Matt Gray had thoughts something similar could happen and subbed him off.

Glad to see Lafayette back at the Lane, and see Wishart play. I have a lot of time for them and their efforts for Sutton

We do, and he’s great, but... we’ve got the luxury of Boldewijn and Rodrigues to choose from as well. Roberts will edge out number-of-bad-games-won-1-0 percentage even higher, but the approach is still going to be wrong.

Approach should be a higher tempo, more dynamic mindset? Utilise the attacking players we’ve got? Play through the lines rather than side to side/backwards? The only times I think we have seen that this season was Barnet, Wealdstone and Dagenham at home.

Yeah, basically. I think we stumbled on something against Dagenham almost by accident when the bizarre circumstances of having Doyle in goal meant that possession in our half was dangerous for us. It forced us to get the ball quickly to Boldewijn and Rodrigues, and for them to look to take people on and go forward rather than just recycle possession. We also defended extremely well, so it showed that we don’t need Doyle and Reeves camped in front of the back four to maintain a decent defensive record.

I think a lot of it is as simple as just not getting enough men forward or bodies into the box. The entire contribution from our central midfield and defence is four goals, and two of them were 30 yard strikes by Reeves. Most teams have got a single player in midfield scoring more than that. You can see that loads of work goes into our defensive shape and we’re really well drilled, but the extent of our plan going forward seems to be ‘good attacking man do goal please’.

We've been ordinary all season. Never as good as the 11 point lead suggested, just well drilled and consistent. Now we are well below ordinary as our entire game plan was built around Danny Wright who got injured against Yeovil in the New Years game.

Count yourselves lucky our ownership decided to sack Gannon, if he was still here I'm certain we'd be in touching distance of top spot. As it is I doubt we'll be able to hold on to a playoff spot.

I've seen a lot of dreadful decisions in my time as a Stockport County fan, and even I've never seen something so pointlessly suicidal.

All fair comment, and I think it was the Maidenhead game which spooked Ardley which is when we stopped being an attacking team looking to score goals and became a defensive team looking to stop them. Pretty pathetic for a Notts team at this level. Maybe he thought Roberts would be back sooner and he could put more of the onus on him?

Stockport are similar underachievers to us so we’ll see what happens, though as usual I expect we’ll park the bus. Speaking of Stockport if we’re looking elsewhere for a manager at the end of the season I could see us doing worse than Jim Gannon.

For the board's general information, here is how the AVERAGE Halifax fan rates his team's performance:

Are we winning?
YES- excellent :woot: :woo:
NO- we're fucking shit, sack the fucking manager, he hasn't got a fucking clue, he's got no plan B, these are HIS players, HE brought them here, they're all fucking SHIT!

This is amply displayed on this thread.:ds:

I think it is still wide open with so many variables at play - games in hand, fitness, injuries, form etc so wouldnt discount anyone or write off anyone yet.

Still think the best side I’ve seen us play were Solihull, then maybe Stockport in spells at our place in the league game (won’t discuss the farce that was in the cup games).

Ourbgames in hand are Kings Lynn, Dover, Halifax and Eastleigh - 3 at home so think if we can continue to pick up points at home we will click the table and challenge the play offs. Momentum is key, we’ve lost Denton for the season and Whelan is still out for 2 games who are big misses but just got to take it one game at a time.

We owe Altrincham one from earlier in the season so hopefully we’re up for it Tuesday.

Shows you how much it means to Halifax to beat one of the Proper Clubs.

It’s always their European Cup Final when playing a Brother.
