Yep, been saying this all season. If not for scummy $alford I would be very confident that top spot would be ours - we look really good this season.

As it is the profligate game ruiners will buy their way to 1st and we will finish 2nd, easily breezing into the play off final before losing to someone absolutely dross like Sutton, or maybe Wrexham. :D

I'd love us to get our long awaited revenge for 1989.

Bring it on.

Pearson had been warned prior to the corner about shirt pulling particularly on Charlie Clough so perhaps the ref spotted that

The red looked harsh on the highlights, Dos said it was harsh as well
I seemed to be one of the few in our end who didn't argue the penalty, I was watching Pearson the whole time. He was all over your lad.

I was looking the other way when the red happened.

Watching our extended highlights their guy has his head down and deliberately running into Pearson like some sort of deranged rutting stag. I think a penalty was ridiculous looking at it but Sutton always get penalties at home, that Collins scores about 20 of them a season.

It looks like that from the highlights and could easily be mistaken in real time too but Pearson had a grip on the lad's shirt. We looked well off the pace anyway so I don't think it meant an awful lot. We were always going to get battered.

They mocked them up recently to celebrate 5 years of existence.
I thought those 5 stars were to celebrate the 5 Brotherhood clubs:

Wrexham
Orient
Hartlepool
Chesterfield

and Stockport County.

Our cameraman caught a picture of Pearson putting an odd head lock on Clough prior to the corner being taken (which led to the warning about future conduct) and you pause the incident that led to the penalty Pearson is clearly trying to wrestle Clough to the ground.

Whilst I agree it was clumsy by Brown it’s clearly not intentional. Also, the ref told our manager that he made the decision apparently despite him being oblivious to what actually happened and playing on for a good 5 seconds after the incident. I do think on balance of play against 11 men you were the better team and deserved the win but imo the referee ruined an intriguing football match by wanting to be the centre of attention. This was the same ref who last season when we played Wrexham away, sent a Wrexham player off yet didn’t realise they still had 11 men on the pitch and played on for a good 5 minutes until finally realising his error. Seen plenty of other fans also mention him as a standout as one of the worst refs they’ve seen in non league. However, decisions balance themselves over the course of the season and I’m sure Hartlepool will receive the short end of the stick again at some point. In the same notion, I’m sure we will have a game where we get lucky with decisions and it aids us to victory. So with that being that we’ve just got to move on and accept you won and we lost. All we can do is react positively now.

We certainly did last season. We were warned how bad the refs were, but it still took me by suprise.
I couldnt work out if some were bad, incompotent or just plain drunk.

You're the only set of losers that had to apply for re-election more times than we did, so I wouldn't get too snitty about it if I were you. :ds:
How many B2TF?

My first 3 seasons following Chester (1960-1962) we applied for re-election. There would have been more too. I know Hartlepool had stacks.

How did Cassidy get on?
Wasn't at the game myself, but the forums are nothing but complimentary of him. Came on at HT and instantly looked a class above Quigley and Mullings apparently
