A lot of sides have had one season here, sorted themselves out and then gone up the next year

Leyton Orient spring to mind and I think Tranmere took 2 or maybe 3 seasons.

Those parachute payments for being useless really are a fantastic asset

Think this is why we are building a team now for next season as apposed to over the summer.
Wootton and Roberts are very good imo and we have done well to get them in now.

I think a few, myself included will be dissappointed if we dont make the playoffs though this season.

Our new owners aren't loaded but it does appear that they put Roberts to Ardley rather than him asking them. He a decent debut and could have scored apart from an excellent save by Daggers keeper.

You wonder quite how Wrexham are ever going to stir themselves back into the football league

Take note Notts County
I think Hartlepool have more to fear on that score- they have a history of failure as rank as ours- did you know they had to apply for Re-election even more times than we did? True fact. :ds:

Duly noted.

I think we’ve very little chance of getting up this season. Next season is the big one. If this time next year we aren’t in at least as good a position as what Barrow are now, I’m rioting.

Notts County will be OK. They'll go up next season.

Probably won’t with Ardley trying to play like Barcelona in a shit division, you need more than that. Everyone thought Chesterfield would romp it this season, a quick return is vital or you might never make it for a very long time.

We still get those quite a lot. It's as if people haven't been paying attention whilst we've been down here for a billion years getting beaten by all and sundry.

At least you're a big club, we are middle of the road in this league these days. The size of some of the clubs in this division is absurd.

It’s more trying to play like Barcelona with a central midfield of Michael Doyle and Mitch Rose that’s a problem, baby steps. We definitely need more of a plan b, mind.

Have said for a while that I think we’ll take the Tranmere/Orient route and go up next year. Even though you could point to the quality we have and say that we should be doing a bit better (fair), we also had no pre-season at all and our team wasn’t really put together until mid-September (also fair).

Not making the play-offs from here would be ridiculous, though, and who knows then.

This is the annoying thing, before Dover we were passing it around, hitting it down the channels. Big hoofs up to the front as well as counter attacks and running at defenders. All spread out to suit who we were playing to profit at their weaknesses.

We had no ideas for Daggers away which was worrying but I am not too upset as long as we beat Chesterfield on the tellybox (hahahahahahahahahaha no chance) and follow it up with a win at home to Woking 2 weeks later.

We definitely don’t create the chances we should or score the goals we should with the attacking options we have. Our defensive record is great, which is fine, but I think we can afford to be a bit more adventurous at the expense of trying to control every game with 60% possession.

What time to we find out if Eastleigh's swamp is fit enough to host a game of football?

It took Tranmere 3 years to get out.

I wonder how many of the ex league teams down here voted to keep 2 up 2 down while a member of the league?

There really is an argument to increase that to 3 each way now, but sadly it will encourage more cash spunking projects like Harrogate rather than allow some of the ex league clubs a way back

Why can't people see that increasing it to 3 up to make it "easier" to get promoted makes it easier to get relegated too? There are already way to many Great and Historic Football League clubs down here and way to many Mickey Mouse non league outfits that have been permitted to BUY a place in the Football League. :£:£:£

Solihull away tonight and the game has obviously been complicated by Flowers leaving as we basically have no idea on the team or tactics they will come up with tonight.
Hopefully the virus that affected the squad in the last week has gone.
IF we can get tonight's game and Saturday's out of the way and be 7 points clear with a game in hand with our main challengers having only 13 games left that will be massive - especially as we play our 2nd game in hand Tuesday next week.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Shots at £astl£igh tonight (pitch permitting). We are still awaiting replacement loan players ; more worryingly, we go into this game with only 1 centre back, being useless defensively at set pieces. Bog of a pitch, puny midfield......so we’ll probably win, but don’t put any money on it.

We've released Koue Niate and rumour has it he's headed your way, so there's your other centre back.

He's big and strong and a lovely chap but you can rely on him to balls something up in most games.

Not trying to put any Barnet-esque exaggeration on things but I can't help but feel tonight's game will be an indicator for the run in.

If you don’t win tonight, there’s every chance you are getting relegated alongside Barnet.

finished 0-0... pretty boring game - Barrow did have a goal disallowed at the start of the 2nd half.
Brad Barry was missing - the latest victim of the illness bug going through the squad.
5 points clear with a game in hand.
our game at Barnet on 29th February has now been called off as it's FA Trophy 4th round day and as we are away at Barnet in round 3 one of us will still be in the Trophy.

52 points for us now all but guarantees safety for another season. Now to bleed a few youths in our final few games and enjoy the sunshine.

0-0. Onwards.

We could do with a few reinforcements though IMO.

Sounded a fucking tense game - commentators again saying how physical Solihull were and our defence getting lucky on a couple of occasions.

I'm guessing Evatt won't be too happy, but two away draws against teams that should be in the play-offs isn't too bad.

Rode our luck at times tonight but we did enough to win the game.

Stockport fans- you can have McAlinden all day long. Rodney already improved us. Not sure why you played him out wide. Causes so much danger down the middle. 2 goals tonight.
