Couldn’t go tonight because of work but sounds like we’re being absolutely Devonshired so far :(
It was nailed-on for a good 50 minutes, we could barely string two passes together because there'd be three of them instantly closing down any options, and we'd lob aimless balls over them instead. Maidenhead had two or three decent chances first half that really should've been put away.

But we weathered that first half, came out a bit more bright in the second & seemed to focus heavily down their right flank, and finally opened arrears with a looping header from Sarc that their 'keeper didn't even move for until it was arcing past him. After that the visitors' heads dropped, their batteries had been exhausted and it was a matter of time until more went in. Bringing on Ollie Crankshaw with half an hour to go against a knackered side is just downright bullying.

11 games on from Rusk ball with only one signing added and we’re somehow top.
Whilst DC is a top manager some initial digging reveals you have played quite a lot of tinpotters since he took over.

It was just too much to ask for another Devonshiring. Still, 2.5 in a week is pretty remarkable, well done that man.

This is how it works Stockport fans, when you win a few games it’s automatically because you’ve only played against shite teams!

God that was awful. I'll own that I never fully understood the term until tonight but we were just absolutely shithoused out of it there. Their number 6 was as wide as he was tall. And to put a cherry on it, my emojis aren't working and I confess I feel quite naked without them. Stop staring at me. *Horror face*

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
It should be a routine victory for us tonight. Although these are the games Notts tend to struggle in historically.
That worked out well, tinpotters brave resistance..

Hursts position is becoming untenable, he’s a man who’s just got used to losing and he can’t stop this rot, has to go.

Still getting over the fact a Wrexham praised McAtee, a bright point in a bleak night

It’s the problem with this team. We’ll take all comers at home on our massive pitch, but without all that space we just end up passing it about for ages not really going anywhere.

Shame not to hold on at the end but Southend deserved at least a point out of that game. Were by far the better team and certainly aren't going down.

Weymouth away on Saturday is huge for us now, win and we go 14 points clear of them, which will almost see us safe.

1 defeat in 11 after losing 11 of our first 14 is a remarkable turnaround

Good game. Good atmosphere

Grimsby pressured us really well opening 10 mins but after we weathered that we were well on top of rest of the half.

The second half was a lot more even. Looked like Lainton made a great save. We really should have added a second towards the end, that Cleworth chance was unbelievable.

I'll also add to the simping for McAtee.. very good delivery from set pieces, good passing in open play and impressively quick when moving with the ball.

Nice to see Pearson get a great reception pre-match!

Stockport County.
We were very flat first half, could see why Maidenhead had won points off the big sides, they're organised and have a front two who work in tandem and are sharp. That Kelly looks a decent player.

Second half we were just a completely different team attacking the Cheadle End, got the goal and never looked back. Spreading Maidenhead all over the place. Amazing what a half time tea cup throw around can do. 3-0 flattered us over the 90 though.

Beleaguered Halifax! We badly missed Green and Spence. We could probably get away with one being missing short term with the other alongside Summerfield but losing both to injury is a killer. It's completely zapped all our energy and tenacity out of midfield. Really missed Slew also, just has the ability to create something out of nothing. That lack of squad depth really beginning to show... Could really do with a centre mid (short term) and winger in to steady the ship.

Fully deserved point for the Stones tonight. Defended brilliantly and could have nicked it. Expected more from County, seemed to over play in the final third. Would have hurt us more if they got early crosses into the box rather than taking extra touches, cutting back etc. Nowhere near the standards we’ve seen from Stockport and Chesterfield.

Our management team changed the shape, changed the personnel, changed the game plan and the performance was a stark contrast to Saturday at Woking. Something to build upon.

More than deserved a point tonight but we just don't have enough quality or cutting edge to get through two banks of four solid lines.
First half we must have had 70% odd possession, did fuck all with it, Aldershot have one attack and score, typical!
2nd half I thought was a bit more even, again without either side actually creating a clear opening. By the 75th minute I thought we'd actually settled for losing 1-0 such was our desire to just keep passing around in midfield, then out to the wing for whoever was out there to send in a cross that didn't beat the first man. Then with 5 minutes to go we showed some actual urgency and we score.

Cardwell is a better option than Murphy, actually plays as a centre forward and if he drops back to get possession passes it off and then makes a beeline for the box rather than looking to drop into the left back role or go wide right or just fall over and look at the ref. Pleased he got his goal, worked his socks off.
And Noor Husin is exactly what we've been lacking, quality first touch, movement and a range of passing.

10 points clear of the drop zone now, dare I say we might even finish mid-table at this rate? Utter change of mentality since Christmas with the coaching staff getting their ideas across and the new signings being much better than what we had, just got to negotiate the AGM cup at the end of the season if Ron isn't going to piss off.

Bring on the Sarfend

Undefeated at home this year

Thank christ you won a game before Southend come to you on Saturday!

oh and can we automatically relegate Eastleigh, they lost to us when we were utter, utter tripe and now they've managed to lose to Dover, quite clearly they are the worst team in the league.

Tinpotters like Wealdstone, who have taken points off you and Notts County, and Maidenhead who have beaten Bromley, Chesterfield and Halifax this month.

It could be the despatching of the tinpotters that wins it for us.

One of the better home performances this season but we just can't seem to kill teams off.

Palmer had a decent debut. Still desperate for a bit of quality in midfield to give us any chance to challenging Stockport near the top.

We struggle with these games anyway where our overplaying costs us more because the space closes quicker, but we looked massively undercooked tonight. Very much like a team that’s basically played two games in the last seven weeks, just no sharpness at all. Put a lot of pressure on ourselves to go to Bromley and win.

Thought you were well worth the point. Was never particularly worried you were going to score to be honest but restricted us to very little in the way of clear efforts in front of goal.

We have a real problem with away games against teams ‘we should beat’. Our games at Weymouth, Eastleigh, Altrincham, Boreham Wood, plus tonight and Tamworth in the FA Cup, have all ended up in a similar pattern where we have so much of the ball on the edge of the box it somehow suffocates the game and nothing actually really happens. King’s Lynn much the same to be honest until Roberts went mental.
