Has Nyal Bell just not worked out for Kiddy then?

Got injured in pre season while AMS was suspended so we played Freemantle, both Bell and AMS came back at the same time and Penn seems to prefer AMS for his physicality and uses Freemantle as an impact sub as he has infinite amount of energy.

I think Bell is a decent signing for Curzon, just wish Chorley had gone for him, has to be an improvement on the likes of Jacob Blyth who is useless, once again a lack of ambition at Chorley. Do we want to be promoted, it does make you wonder!

Well no idea where Alfreton`s hot streak has come from but long may it continue. Another big test on Saturday at Gateshead, never looked forward to a game as much as this!

Given that you will be our first above average away crowd, I'd advise Darlo fans not to leave it too late to get to the Deva tomorrow as we've had queue problems with the new entry system this season.

Buying in advance will speed things up, paying by card on the day will slow things down and cash will see you need to queue up twice.

Thanks for the heads-up

We'll hopefully fetch a good few down to give the match a good atmosphere. And whoever turns up on the day may the best team win.

It will be a good test to see if we can be taken seriously.

Positively - 2 goals conceded in 11 games (ignoring the aberration of 3 vs Darlington!), some creativity, enough players so we can cope with an injury or two (for once!), flexibility in formation and shape

Negatively - don't score enough, edged a lot of games rather than commanding them e.g. scruffy win vs Gloucester or defeat to Guisley in the FA cup. We've (sort of) been here before... and lack the resources and strength to maintain it over the season.

I take it Fylde are full time?

Interesting that this weekend sees 1st v2nd and 3rd v 4th playing each other. Not at all confident at Chorley as never sure what team turns up, if we are at full strength and "at it" we are half decent, anything less and its mid table at best.
We then have Kettering on Tuesday followed by trip to Boston next Saturday, let's see how much of a return we get from that.

Good start to the week, 3 points and decent performance if not totally convincing. Really should have been a bigger margin but several chances spurned. Still only one of the top four to pick up maximum points, need to keep it up Tuesday v Kettering.

Not at our best but another late show rescued a point. It's insane how many goals we score in the last 10 minutes, if you come down here you wouldn't even feel comfortable being three up with that long left. Scored 18 goals at home in the league this season and exactly half of them (9) have been in the last 10 mins.

Think Telford were the worst team we've played this season. Very comfortable 3-0. I think Telford had 2 shots one in each half and neither were on target.

Up to 4th with 13 goals in our last 4 home games. Positive feelings are back at Aggborough for the first time in for few years

I missed last week's thrashing of Boston, so came to today's match thinking we had turned the corner, but Darlington were excellent and led 2-0 going into the last 10 minutes. Good, noisy away following must have felt robbed when we snatched a draw with 2 late goals from Roberts (m-o-m) and Askey. Just hope we can get an away win before Christmas.

Think most Darlo fans would have taken a point pre-game and looking at the goals for and against of both sides a score draw was a pretty likely result. But to be 2 up with 10 minutes to go and draw 2-2 is disappointing. Decent crowd by the looks of it, who got a bit of entertainment. Got lots of time for Chester and their fans, both sets of fans trying to make fan ownership work in a competitive division, hope we can both have positive seasons from here on out.

As for us, we're definitely improving from the start of the season. We're entertaining to watch and we score goals. If we can sort the defence out we will be in with a chance of the playoffs come the end of the season as I think other than Brackley and Fylde the rest is pretty open.

Get a win against Gloucster at home next week, keep slowly moving up the league and an away point against Chester will seem like a good point.

York manager has left.

he was unlucky today they 100% deserved to win today, only one team tried to attempt to win the game today the other played for a 0-0 draw.

although their issue was apart from the first 15 minutes when they really turned it on they didn’t really get that great chance or opportunity.

I am a little worried about the managerial change after today. Two home games now and we have gone from taking game to other side into sitting back and counter.

it might be as it was Fylde and York two of the best squads and on paper 4 points is good but when York fans talk about their defence issues and the attack we have is thought we’d at least have a go. We would have a couple of weeks ago.

Gateshead 2-1 Alfreton
Valiant effort from the lads.
The better side for 75 minutes but couldnt hold out.
Golden chance to win it squandered by Elliott Reeves before an perhaps invitable winner from Gateshead.
No question we deserved from the game.
Dust ourselves down and get set for a huge game against Kidderminster now.

Southport 4-1 Boston

Actually a much closer game than the scoreline suggests. We were 2-0 up but Boston were piling the pressure on and deservedly got one back. A brave triple substitution meant a formation change from 5-3-2 to 4-2-3-1 and we attacked more down the flanks which changed the game. To be fair to us, we couldn't do much else with us being down to the bare bones and having 3 wingers and a striker coming back from an ankle fracture on the bench.

Liam Edwards has returned to us on loan from Bolton. I doubt he'd be with us if he hadn't have been out for two years injured. He's far too good for this level, but the 70-odd minutes he played is another step in the right direction for him. Marcus Carver got a deserved hat-trick, Jordan Archer bagged against a side who barely gave him a chance to play whilst he was there, and Doug Tharme had the chance to rest his arms given Boston did everything they could not to put the ball out for throw-ins (luckily for us Charlie Munro was somehow dominating in midfield).

We're still unbeaten at home in the league, have started playing some decent football, and are climbing the table. The team seems a close and well-drilled unit, and there is a feel-good factor creeping back in which we haven't had for years. It'll all go wrong at some point I'm sure!

Always liked Southport as a club. Remember them in the third with Eric Redrobe etc.

God Curzon is a managerial graveyard for our manager last 3 gone after playing you.
To be honest today is first time all season we have had 4 defenders on pitch.
Got to feel for Watson and not happy about sacking he has terrible luck.
Today we had both wingers and attacking centre mid missing and still controlled game.
All this is McGill the chairman taking pressure of himself.
The fact that York fans were fighting with themselves and Curzon fans I’ve been told in ground will of pushed the decision.
Watson is a good manager and deserves respect.
John Askey has been at club for one week and is Watsons mate,is taking over till end of season, does not sit right with me.

Wow what a match if that's not entertainment I don't know what is. I'd have payed double to watch that game.
I must admit at the final whistle it felt like a defeat and yes as you say slightly robbed.

Once again we were a delight to watch as we were at Kettering. I think if Griffiths who had just the keeper to beat we would have put this game to bed at 3-0! Instead the game turned into squeaky bum time.

Still it's a huge improvement from previous visits to Chester in the league where they've absolutely pulverized us.
