To be fair the second season we were neck and neck up there with Kings Lynn & York all season until we had a bad few weeks just before covid struck so slipped and finished 6th on PPG not 7th.
I always felt we were given a shot of the play-offs when we were on a downward trajectory. Was that the season that the last game we played was only drawing 3-3 at BPA after being 2-0 up at h/t?

Because they are in dog and duck league and teams bring 20 fans.
Buxton are only team this season to fill it.
The away end has foundations built in to incorporate a double size away end if they get into league.
Club have tweeted they have identified small number of Boston fans buying tickets in York end and have cancelled them, what a shit show.
I'm surprised with the number of Ex football league clubs in Conf North teams don't bring that many. When you consider Darlington,Chester,Bradford PA ,Boston Utd & Southport all play there.

No that was the season that got cut short in January behind closed doors. We were third at the time.

There will be an accident in that away end at York one day, ridiculously uncomfortable and there were crushes going on when we went and we hardly filled it either but were made to be clustered up together. Horribly designed.

Anyway, good luck to both in the final, should be a good game and atmosphere for it.
Agreed, we had over 600+ there on a Tuesday night and it was really uncomfortable when everyone it so close together squeezed in by the police.

We played them on a Tuesday night and with rubbish transport links on the way home (1 bus leaves the ground back to town) and trains not very frequent during the weeknights, we took a healthy following of over 600.

Brought more to York on that Tuesday than anyone else brings to us, on a Saturday.
I'll await the usual "Nobody wants to visit Darlo" :pmsl:

Must admit I've only been to your place once ( Feethams ) and I was pleasantly surprised. Went by train and upon coming out of the station , straight into a pub with the cheapest prices for beer I've ever seen. Your market place in the centre was a nice place as well.

We now share with a local rugby club, post Raj Singh, and the views, especially for away fans, are limited. Unfortunately, that pub is no more - closed due to renovation of the train station to make us look more glamorous for Civil Service workers when they move here from London. Still some good town centre pubs, especially if you like Real Ale.

That'll have no doubt been Hogan's use to love calling in their after a footy game from Feethams and have a few jars. I also remember the place as a nightclub as well called The Flammy. The building is historical and it's a shame we lose watering holes like these places.

I think we'd have most likely joined Buxton if our original date had gone ahead on the Saturday instead of a re-arranged Tuesday night match. In which a lot of supporters couldn't make this trip with various commitments, etc.

I have my doubts whether all the work to be carried out on the station will be completed before the bi centennial. I'm not sure but I think the deadline is 2024? For the work to be completed on Bank Top Station.

Is Scottie's chippie and the Yorkshireman Pub still there?

Former Whitby left back joins Darlo!

Quakers have today signed 25-year-old left back Jassem Sukar subject to approval by the FA and the National League. He will reunite at Darlo with former team-mate and last season's NPL top scorer Jacob Hazel.

Happy days another useful member to add to the squad!

All the best to York and John Askey in particular today. Good to see them back on an upward curve and hopefully back in the EFL before too long.

Still a long way off need land, stadium designs, funding and contractors etc. But promisingly it seems like the council, Tees Valley Mayor and other key stake holders are finally all on side and understand our needs.

I wouldn't expect anything physical before 2026 or 2027 but it's certainly the most positive news we've had on grounds in a long time, we know Blackwell is poor but as fan owners when you have to fund a team and a ground it was the best we could do. So we look forward to more news in the future, hopefully with better facilities we can encourage more home and away fans through the door and give us the chance to further progress.

Our stadium was built in 1990 when we were in L1 (Tier 3). It was built on a shoestring at the arse end of an industrial estate and it shows. For all intents and purposes (SAG) the capacity is only about 4,000 or so. People say why do we need a new stadium when we rarely half fill the one we have, which is a fair point. My point is that there is nothing at the ground to attract new fans and I don't mean the football (which has been mediocre at best for the past 6 or 7 seasons. There isn't even a concourse under the main stand where people can go at half time and catch up with mates while having a drink.

Must admit I preferred Sealand Road.

Yeah fair. I remember going to your place back in the L2 days. As you say everything you need to tick the right boxes but nothing of note to particularly attract you there either.

I really hope that those in power look at Kidderminsters ground as a bit of a blue print for what we need. Think that is an almost perfect ground for L2, Conf National or NLN side. Maybe add a little more corporate facilities behind the main stand burt other than that it's pretty much perfect.

What an amazing job John Askey has done,
15 in league and going nowhere to 2 nd in form table in later part of season to Gateshead.
Askey shipped 10 players out and only brought in Kouogun,Kouhyar,Sanders,Longson,John Lewis & McKay reducing wages and still delivers.

So pleased for him. Best thing is he knows what it takes to get promoted from the league above as well given the right amount of time. Also showed at Macc he doesn’t need huge money to do it either.
