I was at Boston yesterday, fairly slow start to the game but once Mooney opened the scoring it was one-way traffic. Back to back hat-tricks for Mooney as well, three really well taken strikes show a man in form. With him and Knowles up front they can trouble anyone, so wouldn't be surprised to see them make an impact in the play-offs should they get there.

Who the hell does the Team of the Day for the Non-League paper?

Ross Fitzsimons got in, made a total of zero saves yesterday. Banbury had 1 shot the entire game and it flew miles wide.

Can only agree. Team of hoofers, cloggers and wind-up merchants. Offered no real threat all game and if we had been more confident in front of goal we would have dispatched them easily. At least two clearances off the line. Stanway could almost have had the afternoon off, rather than having to put up with Liburd's goading.
Yeh ~~ what was up with that freak?

They're not a great footballing side but they're an excellent team overall

Only conceded 3 goals in their last 15 games which is absolutely ridiculous, they just don't make mistakes like the rest of us do
Exactly.

I'm sick of hearing the same "Tamworth are rubbish" from fans of every club they face.

They are clearly the best team in the league by some distance. It's like no one can grasp that you can be effective, industrial, miserly but also bloody good at it.

It's just as well that there's no column in the league table for fan's laughably wrong opinions.

Oh god another home game this weekend!!

Apologies to the other relegation battlers this weekend it’s likely banbury will grab a win at last.

We should look at out the box ideas, playing maybe at Ashton United ground or wearing the away kit or maybe parking at Man City ground and players using the tram to get to the ground etc etc

We are so dreadful at home currently we start 0-3 down and work on it from there…..away I think we can beat anyone it’s very weird.

Ah well if they want a chance of play offs they must turn it about Saturday.

Big win finally at home…….clearly because I didn’t go!

Got us back into top 7 but who knows who will finish there at present, South Shields and Spennymoor are certainly the risers from midtable now on the brink but both play each other soon.

3 games to make or break our season, Blyth and Alfreton away and South Shields at home, if we are in top 7 or maybe a point advantage for I can see is getting in because we couldn’t handpick our last two games better…….everyone would want our last two games, but this is the spell that could end our season3 tough games.

Chorley were off the pace yesterday against a good Boston side and consequently fell 3 behind in a first half dominated by Boston. Much better second half but a missed penalty and a couple of very good saves from Boston keeper prevented any way back into the game. Need to get back to form next week at Darlington.

It's become evident over the past 6 or 7 games that the play-offs are slipping away from and we continue to play the same failing negative system. Zero goals in the last 4 games says it all. We are trapped in this league under a manager who has come close to using up all his 'get out of jail' cards. We need to throw caution out of the window and a least go down fighting in these final 5 games.

3 wins in a row and 3 clean sheets now for us, huge game against Spennymoor on Tuesday night.

Win that and we open up a 6 point gap on Brackley and a 7 point gap on Chorley (they do have a game in hand) which would get us pretty close to 2nd

Oh I think that is spot on, should you beat Spennymoor I agree that 2nd looks very very likely for Scunthorpe. However it will be a tough game and I am sure we will battle on right to the end.

No. You don't.

You need to roll over and let us take the points because we need them more than you do.

Play nice, thanks.

We bottled it on Saturday at the Dales Lane building site, very lucky to come away with a 3-2 defeat.

Entertaining first half from the terraces, followed by a shite second half. We just couldn"t handle Rushall"s centre forward (9).

Overall Rushall fully deserved their victory, a couple of cracking goals from the home side followed by a bit of a Taylor booby. He did make a couple of finger-tip saves to keep the score down.

But not a great day at the office from the lads!

We’ve not had great experiences in the North East on Tuesday nights recently so I wouldn’t be shocked if we slipped up.

Looking at the run ins, Brackley have the hardest run in and then I’d say it’s a toss up between us who’s is harder.

Really annoys me when, after the run of form we have had to give ourselves even a chance of avoiding the drop, the players get accused of "bottling it" because they turn in a disappointing display against a team who many of our fans seem to think we had a divine right to beat. They are fighting to stay up too and have been above us for 95% of the season. Always going to be a difficult game, on a plastic pitch.

This league could be looking very very southern next season. I reckon we'll be back but if we survive there's a chance 4 southern teams could be coming down with Oxford, Dorking, Boreham Wood and potentially Maidenhead organising the league split next season is going to be a nightmare.

I've said it for a while. I don't think they blew us or anyone away but what they've very good at is not having off days where they're 2 down in 20 minutes and chasing the game
The rest of us throw in a shocker every 3 or 4 games
The amount of games boston have thrown away (blyth. Chorley) or not been at the races (alfreton. Buxton, Bishop's Stortford ffs) has been infuriating as we've showed we can go toe to the with anyone but no use if you can't dedend set plays and concede 2 or 3 half the time
Tamworth are very good at making sure they don't lose even if they're struggling to win

Which is why they'll get over the line barring something freakish

If boston don't go up I'm hoping kiddy, york or anyone northern dont drop
Oxford City will go north, perhaps St Albans and hemel switch over. Need the weakest possible league next season as the pony leagues of the last 2 or 3 years have still been far to strong for us to win!

Will be an very interesting league next year

Radcliffe are going up and they’re very well backed, if Macclesfield go up in the play-offs they’re well backed too.

Imagine they’ll both be top 8 budgets next year

I do understand and take on board where your coming from, and we certainly don"t have a divine right in beating clubs like Rushall who are struggling now as much as we are.

I got the impression as the game progressed Rushall wanted it more than us, but that"s just my point of view on the day.

I think from a lot of fans perspective views who"ve travelled some distance to the match have been somewhat slightly let down by the players on the day that just haven"t turned up. And obviously crowd frustration sets in and so forth!

Exactly, they"ll be no easy games in the weeks ahead.

Some big games in hand for play off chasing pack tonight.

South Shields at Banbury and Soennymoor hosting Scunthorpe. Could also argue last chance saloon for Warrington but think they have slipped up too much now.

Tonight is going to be very tough, would take a point

This ref tonight is not letting us win, no chance are we allowed

We have a shot that hits the bar, drops down and the keeper claws it into his own net, ref disallows it for absolutely zero reason. Our player then gets booked for complaining.

Fucking disgraceful

Oh dear, that is a dreadful decision by the Ref who looks to be miles away from the incident, you were certainly lying robbed there, disgraceful.

The referees in this league are dogshit. We had a disgraceful ref at a recent match and the assessor was sitting behind me. I confronted him at h/t saying he should never referee again. The assessor replied saying ~ he's having a great match. They are part of the problem.

Even with the shocking decision last night, 2nd is still in our hands due to our goal difference.

Nobody to blame but ourselves if we don’t get it.

I would back us at home against anybody so would be optimistic if we finished 2nd

Is it the NLN/S that has the playoff final at the higher placed side's home ground? Was about to say 2nd/3rd is much of a muchness but that's only really relevant in the NL if so.

Absolute shocker of a decision last night. I saw that Tweet without knowing the score or that that had been disallowed so had no idea what the poster was complaining about. Unfathomable stuff.

Yeah NLN has playoff final at higher teams stadium.

So if we finish 2nd we get two home games to get promoted which you’d back us to win. We’re so much better at home so it’s pretty big for us to finish 2nd

If there is justice you will get promoted. I still think you are the best time in the league. Tamworth are just more functional and street wise.

That referee should never be allowed to referee another game again, that is an outrageous decision there isn’t even a hint of a foul.
