Amusingly bad. At this stage though can laugh it off, wouldn't if it was deeper in to the season.

I also like how the FA have decided to just randomly retrospectively ban Declan Weeks now for swearing at a ref back in February. Not just coming in to effect now, literally only just told us. Farcically amateur.

They did the same to us last season with Danny Lloyd, a retrospective ban 2 months after the indecent just in time for our run-in. They're a joke.

Good start to the season. Kouyhar and Summerfield look brilliant. Biggest worry is the Foulkes went off injured late on.

We're very controlled in possession, not rushing it and looking to create a chance rather than force one.

I also swear Hatfield scores a screamer against us all the time for Darlo

Overall I was a bit disappointed to lose yesterday, but I think Kiddy shaded it on the balance of play so no complaints from me.

But we played well enough to be optimistic that we can do well this season - we won't be playing opposition as good as them every week. I'd like to see the Main penalty incident again, a lot of people were upset that it wasn't given but my gut feeling was that it was a nothing burger.

Their left winger who roasted Griffiths was the difference between the teams I thought. Also their centre midfielder was quality and strolled around like he owned the place. I also liked the look of their keeper, he was big, confident and claimed everything.

We may have got something if we were able to play Platt and Leesley but that's football. For us, Maskell looks like he is going to be a handful and Cornish and Nelson improved us when they came on.

After looking around on X and forums it seems most Darlo and Kiddy fans are pretty much in agreement how the game went which is refreshing considering how two sets of fans normally watch 2 completely different matches.

I don't see Kidderminster being far away based on that.

I think Calum McIntyre needs to cast off his rigid tactics otherwise he won't be here much longer. Changed the best defence in this league from last season to a clueless one which was lucky to only concede three.

I thought it was a pen honestly from the camera feed.

That LW is Maz Kouyhar. Not sure why York have loaned him out to us as he already look good enough for step 1. I know some York fans were disappointed he was loaned to us.

I wouldn't have been disappointed with a point but there's been a few times at Blackwell Meadows we've turned up and somehow turned a draw into a win.

I can see us both being in the battle for 4th-7th spots.

Noticed that we had more than half the crowd on Saturday, do Brackely normally get such poor crowds?

Always thought they were better supported than that

Yeah after watching the highlights, my gut feeling about the pen was wrong - ref bottled it.

Oh well.

Having the charity shield on at the same time I think was a kicker for some home crowds, ours was dreadful for an opening game not that I’d expect a big crowd but you’d hope for over 300…..but the pubs in Ashton would be full watching the derby.

You can keep your grubby mits off mahon he is still learning at the moment needs another year….. plus he’s now learning the central midfield role in order to keep playing.

When I started watching it was around 200. Now up to about 600... so good growth. We'll never get much more - we're a small town of 13,000 people - about 1/7th the size of Scunthorpe...

As for Curzon it’s a game for me to state our intent or lack of it. We looked very good Saturday needham never looked ever like scoring and once attack clicked…..it clicked easy, but we still look like a counter attacking attack side……great quality but not sure on breaking down quality.

On paper I expected this to me a horrid away start, they looked good last season, but watching their highlights from Saturday while I don’t want to dismiss the Hereford win, man alive they gifted some dreadful goals, their defence was a mess.

If we can hold the line our attack could carve enormous gaps, but we will see.

I have been assigned National League North this season as my main scouting project, so I will be attending Scarborough v Rushall. I know very little about either side as it stands.

Farsley having work done on their pitch and don't play at home until September. Reversed a load of fixtures.

Got to be a win for us on Saturday to follow up our great victory on the first day

Former Scunny player and villain Bobby Grant is their captain but I know very little else about Marine

Off to Needham Market for us. If we play like the first 70 minutes against Alfreton we will win, if we play like the last 20 minutes it might be a closer game.

Oxford City for us tomorrow, can’t say I know anything about them having been relegated from the NL and previously spent recent times in the NL south.

We gave Kiddy a decent game on the opening day so I think we’ll be competitive in most games, just need things to click at the top end of the pitch, but I have faith Main and Maskell will give plenty of defenders a headache this season. At the other end of the pitch we’re still a CB short of being a completed short, but murmurings of a FB coming in from York is good news and will hopefully help address the lack of pace in our defensive line. Fingers crossed for a good result tomorrow, be good to get 3 point on the board and get the season going into a busy little period of games.

I think we watched the beginning of the end for Calum today. That was as bad as anything I've seen since the 2016/17 season. No idea what to do when Brackley took control.

I didn't see Brackley take control. They scored a from a long throw hurled into the box from which the ref allowed their players to climb all over ours. The ball fell to Connor Hall about 1 metre out, fortunate for him because I don't think he fancied running much. That was the only thing they "created" all game.

Overall we were crap, but probably should have won if Willougby had put his contacts in (a dreadful miss).

The less said about the ref the better.

I don't think Brackley took control, their whole game was to lob long throws in to the box. Tactically we were hopeless though, did have the chances to win the game but didn't deserve to. Disjointed and disagree with most of the decisions he is making at the moment.

Terrible look to duck out and send a young player out to face Neil Turner and get yourself interviewed by the uni volunteer instead as well.

Absolutely. Horrible to watch, but I guess it works for them. Probably why there were only about 12 of them there to watch it though.

As for us, we need to get better and quick or it's going to be a long season.

Needham Market 1-2 Southport

We started brightly, NM then dragged us into a physical midfield battle that they managed to get on top of. They scored from a free kick that our keeper should probably have saved. Second half we got back into it with a switch in formation, and capitalised on a couple of defensive errors. We probably just about shaded the game overall, but NM will feel they should have got a point. They seem a decent club though.

Good win for us, two 3-0 wins to start Butler's managerial spell

Marine weren't too bad though, they'll trouble a few sides

Massive win for Curzon, good statement of intent as shields are full time yet we went and won, dramatically in the end, listened in and just seen highlights.

Dominated first half, our side has got itself so set up fantastically as an away side we must be a bigger for anyone to face at home, if we have to we can defend en masse and give no room at all and play dangerous counter attacks and if allowed time and space can dominate the game and create a lot of chances.

First half was domination, should have had 5 or 6 but only got one, second half more even and shields got chances but we were holding until 94th minute when they smacked in an equaliser from distance.

Game over……but we stormed instantly forward and win a corner which goes in and two clauses clash going for the ball leading us to a 96th minute pen and a last gasp winner…….seemed a very harsh penalty to me just two players evenly going in for the ball but it’s hard from a camera angle to see the angle referee had.

Win seemed well deserved though and shields do not so far look a likely challenger

The ref was fine. I can't be arsed to create beef with another club, but Chester is the only place we go in this league whose fans seem so able to suspend reality & create an intellectual dissonance where the refs have it in for them. Everyone gets good and bad refs, but far too many Chester fans, based on the mood in the stadium, genuinely seem more one-eyed than any other fan base I've seen in the league.

Not horrible to watch. Pretty good to watch much of the time really. But not started well this season - 3-0 home defeat - and ground out a scratchy away result today. Danny Newton missed a sitter too.

The draw was probably about right today as Chorley were largely in control first half, took lead with a fine strike from 25 yards. Hereford made a couple of changes during second half that improved them significantly and they drew level, we then managed to concede a penalty and get a second yellow to put us down to 10, fortunately Urwin saved brilliantly from the spot kick, we could then have won the game in the next attack as Hall hit the post with a fine effort. Sadly the game was marred by a few clowns amongst the crowd which will inevitably mean another game added to the segregation list.
