Notts County thoroughly deserved to go through. Much better side in possession, moved the ball much more quickly and confidently And created far more than we did.

We have a few decent players under contract but we have some work to do if we are to compete again next season. Central midfield and creativity desperately lacking today and our delivery from set pieces was absolutely hopeless.

Wow. County and Barnet was like someone had got 2 park sides and put them together in a decent stadium. That game wouldn’t have known what quality was if it smacked it in the face.

The only quality was for Dennis goal, though what Barnet were doing defensively for the goal will be known only to them. County easily the better side of a tragic game.

Thank you for the analysis - that means a lot coming from a supporter of the East Midlands' version of Barcelona

Could come from a man from mars, wouldn’t change the quality of the game.

We all watched your play-off games last year, so I’d be careful. :woot:

Fair comment.

Also, Mansfield is the only place in England where being locked down with your family represented extra pulling opportunities.

Of course you were watching this game, why wouldn't you? :cool1:

Tbh you have to take Adam's opinion seriously, if ever someone knows a tragic football match it's him and the other 2500 diehards in North Nottinghamshire. If you thought that was park football and tragic. I've gotta ask how many tragic games did you witness this season at Field Mill?

After 3 months with no football I was expecting a lot worse. Some nice football played on the deck by Notts who were given far too much time and space.

Two good goals, and good play deserved one or two more. Barnet had plenty of corners and one good effort but not much else

If I lived there I’m sure it would be excellent, like Nottingham’s the future of the universe.

still the better side by some margin against a pretty crap Barnet side (how the hell did they get in the playoffs - they trapped the ball further than I could kick it)

would prefer Harrogate to come up, but the idea of you playing a game for the right to play us sounds kinda fun

I love it, trying to act all nonchalant like you don't care but clearly do, a little too much.

Of course you want Harrogate to come up. Makes total sense, after waiting so long.

The final looks a 50:50 game, at the start of the season I certainly would have taken that. I wasn't expecting much this season, after the comic tragedy of last season.

I know you’re on the wind up, but... of course the game wasn’t great. No one has played for four months, there’s been pandemic on. Appreciate that may not appear different to normal life in Mansfield, but for the rest of us

Fine, I’ll bite. Harrogate are not a better footballing side.

We'll agree to disagree. You couldn't tell Harrogate had not played a competitive match in months. Superb to watch. As I said you remind me very much of Salford last season. All big athletic lads. Lots of diagonal passes and crosses into the box. At least Wembleys pitch isn't plastic

C’mon Adam, you’re wishing your little Staggie heart out for us to go up so you can have your Big, Massive Day out again.

It‘ll be for one year only, these Danish lads are a step up in class from your Poundland Fred and Rose Radford.

Oh yeah I’m sure there’s been a massive difference in the thriving metropolis of Nottingham lol. Of course there was going to be a poor standard from what I remember of the conference, that’s why I was so surprised by Barnet, would still be going now and not scored

I was very impressed by Harrogate’s first half today, thought they were good. Ironically, they played lots of good football but scored from a bog standard set piece.

I think their legs and mobility in midfield could be troublesome. Apparently Jon Stead is popular with Notts fans. Not with me he isn’t, i thought he was fucking shit for the vast majority of his time with us.

Thought that Notts played well all things concerned. No football since March... no fans... terrible weather and played well. Only time I’ve felt like that watching a play off was at home to Crewe in 96... we just looked like we were in second gear.
Next week will be a different kettle of fish. Harrogate are a good side. Wembley pitch should suit us but it’s all about who deals with the occasion

You can see them now, can't you?

Thousands of them, down the A60, on horse and cart with pigs being walked on leads for their big day out in the city.

Beautiful in its own way.
