Solihull deserve some credit here - they look much better than their league position would suggest.
Yep, well organised and actually attacked us, especially in the first half, rather than sit back, won pretty much every second ball too. They definitely deserved something from that game.

Something worth noting is that our pitch is terrible and doesn't look like recovering. Askey not happy with it as a tractor had been used to move the covers, however he had us training on it in the rain yesterday!

Made in Chester.
Established in Cambridge. Great memories of Mr Holroyd, I’m pleased he’s doing well this season.

Loving the German contingent at Wrexham today.

Macc lad. He's the only one I was really bothered about losing last summer, will always score goals in this league and would fit our system perfectly this year.

He's scored 10 of them in the 11 home games he's played. Great team player, needs to be offered a contract for next season immediately in my opinion.

I thought it was a lacklustre performance in a thoroughly mediocre game, but we still should have won. We had three one-on-ones in the first half, two missed by Norwood (predictably), the other by Cole. However, I can't say we did enough over ninety minutes to earn a victory.

We look a different team away from home, just no spark or conviction in our play. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde.

Works his balls off and scores all types of goal, very good at getting across his man for front post headers. Fully deserved a better wage away from Macc, only issue I have with him was the way he announced his move to you pretty much the day after the Trophy final, had obviously been more concerned about that than putting the effort in during final few weeks of season.

Could we have a game that doesn't include a heart attack please? A nice 0-0 would be great.

Maybe we notice him more because he used to play for us, but Cook did fuck all today. Didn't realise he was even playing in the first half.

Yes, he was awful. Every few matches he has a game where he does not look remotely interested. Today was one of those.

However, the service to him was not great; a lot of aimless long balls for Diarra to head clear.

I only listened on the radio today, and hardly heard his name. He’s one of them, give him a chance and and nine times out of ten he scores but he doesn’t do much else. I miss Stockton.

Glimmer of hope for us after today's win at Ebbsfleet ... and thoroughly deserved by all accounts.

The transfer window is open, his head is elsewhere.

Yeah, he used to have whole months like that for us! Similarly, Sutton and McNulty headed away absolutely everything coming the other direction - not really a day for strikers.

Woking 4 Maidstone 4

Some absolute comical defending from both sides :lol:
It could have been that at York Street. About the most open 0-0 you'll see. Crossbar, goalmouth scrambles, disallowed goals bit of fisticuffs. At least a near 8 hour round trip wasn't for a dull game.

That was genuinely the worst exhibition of professional football I’ve had to witness since we drew 0-0 with Kingstonian in 2008. The state of the pitch didn’t help, but it was beyond chronic from both sides for the most part (though if Boreham Wood has been 4-0 up at the break it wouldn’t have been an unfair scoreline). I honestly enjoyed losing 5-0 to Swansea more a few years back, because at least the Swans were worth watching.

That's a superb result for you guys today, we're going from bad to worse which is criminal given the financial backing Cox is getting. Miracle/s needed now for us.

Anyone who allows Chris Holroyd to score a hatrick deserves to go down.

If Chester win their games in hand it may make the relegation battle a little interesting.
Games in hand are Fylde (A) on Tuesday and Hartlepool (H) later this month. We'll see.

Bignot's ditched five at the back and we've immediately improved, not much quality on show but we look more organised. We're well up against it but I do at least feel more confident now, look a different side to the one that trudged off in disgrace at Halifax two weeks ago.

Definitely deserved.

Poor goal to concede. Clark and Winfield too high, giving your guy the whole half. Ashmore came out then decided to go back, giving him an empty net to aim at. Coolly done. Other than that, I would say we had around 80% of the ball in the first half but didn't threaten. We need a second striker, badly.

You could have gone 2 up early on in the second but for a fantastic save from Ashmore, and then the game became a bit dull with nothing happening until Bubb decided to launch himself at your guy.

3 times in a month the opposition keeper decides to throw the ball in the net and the ref disallows the goal, twice costing the win

Last time we will play Torquay for a long time I'd have thought, anyone who lets us score 3 against them all in one half is getting relegated. A shame to see a proper club like this in such a mess.

I'd normally agree but as I have stated before I will make an exception for Torquay. It would be logical to bear a grudge against Mickey Mouse Macclesfield, who had nothing to play for but played their guts out to deny us the win that would have kept us in the National League, 2 years ago, but I don't - they did what they were supposed to do and did their duty by the other clubs in the fight to stay up and for that they have my respect. Torquay on the other hand, who also had nothing to play for, failed to prepare properly for their game at Guisly, travelling up on the day, arriving at the ground after a 7 hour journey, less than an hour before kick-off and put in a disgraceful first half performance to present Guisly with an easy 3 points to keep them up at our expense. It was a show of complete disrespect for the competition, the game and most significantly, for our club. Now they can enjoy the Hell they sent us into. They deserve it. :bdick:

0-0 with Boreham Wood in a game with little if any quality from both sides, have to give credit to BW though, if they actually had a proper out and out striker instead of deploying a false 9 position IMO they'd probably be pushing for the title. They passed us off the field in September, today they proved they could cope with a direct and physical game and should've been beating us at half time, second half we were better and forced a few chances of our own to be fair.

The conditions were bad though, the wind was giving the side kicking towards the South end of our ground an advantage all afternoon and our pitch was appalling, we've had alot of rain in 2 weeks, combined with the fact it was neglected by the previous owners last summer, means we have a sand pitch in places.

166 BW fans, many of which were Watford fans on a day out, as I found out at the tube station afterwards.

Well there are losing games , and throwing them away, this was the latter both Aldershot's goals, aided by our keeper who made two howlers one in both halves, OK should not complain as he has had a great season to date, although he claims the first was a push by the attacker, also heard that their keeper cocked up for our goal as well, other that than Aldershot didn't trouble us two much, and we had plenty of chances to take the points, but we need a striker that can score, we also looked tired as well ,Its clear that our small squad , cannot cope with the injuries at present , as some of these young lads do look a bit weary , I wonder if we can afford to bring a couple of new players in soon , or may be sacrifice the trophy

I remember watching Holroyd in our youth/reserve teams ten years ago, along with Paul Rutherford, Kevin Roberts and Sean Newton. Wrexham seem to be relying heavily on our old youth players these days :bg:.

As was said above Hartlepool are really poor and look in trouble but the crap at the bottom should see them safe. We played them off the park first half second half was more even. Good to see Fejiri back on the scoresheet and looking like he old self, like a new signing.

Hopefully we can win Tuesday to be right up there.

Watching the highlights, great goals in that Woking v Maidstone match, particularly the lobs. Lob on.

Also good to see Dover’s keeper quite obviously and systematically gifting goals to the opposition as they gradually fall out of the promotion picture, presumably taking up the chairman’s advice as going up would RUIN them.

And yes you will struggle to see worse defending anywhere than Torquay’s mob. The first goal is Sunday league stuff but have you ever seen a more ridiculous handball for the penalty, it was like he did it on purpose (although I know that’s meant to be the “rule” anyway).

So sad. But oh so true. I didn't go to Wrecsam on Saturday (thank f**k!) but I was unfortunate enough to have witnessed the debacle at Boring Wood the previous week and the 'defending' for Boring's first goal was abysmal and at the time you think to yourself 'this can't get any worse, surely'.... it did, it has.... and, sadly, this could well be the end of Torquay United Football Club. And I don't mean just as a Conference club...what with our dire performances on the pitch and an owner who just wants the club to fold so he can get his grubby mits on the land and an apathy spreading around Plainmoor like a plague the future is very bleak. Someone asked the question on one of our forums when was the earliest a team has been relegated in a season from the Conference, well one thing's for sure, whatever the record is, we're going to smash it this time out.

I got absolutely murdered on our forum for saying torquay were the worst team to visit prenton this year... which in my opinion they were . saying that the people who criticised me are the same ones who shouted me down when i suggested we buy rowe from fylde 2 novembers ago.

The penalty call in the Woking game.

Torquay had a game last season where both sides defending was ridiculous, but I can't remember which game it was other than it was at Plainmoor.
