So sad. But oh so true. I didn't go to Wrecsam on Saturday (thank f**k!) but I was unfortunate enough to have witnessed the debacle at Boring Wood the previous week and the 'defending' for Boring's first goal was abysmal and at the time you think to yourself 'this can't get any worse, surely'.... it did, it has.... and, sadly, this could well be the end of Torquay United Football Club. And I don't mean just as a Conference club...what with our dire performances on the pitch and an owner who just wants the club to fold so he can get his grubby mits on the land and an apathy spreading around Plainmoor like a plague the future is very bleak. Someone asked the question on one of our forums when was the earliest a team has been relegated in a season from the Conference, well one thing's for sure, whatever the record is, we're going to smash it this time out.

No side in this league will ever be worse than Hyde 13-14.

As was said above Hartlepool are really poor and look in trouble but the crap at the bottom should see them safe. We played them off the park first half second half was more even. Good to see Fejiri back on the scoresheet and looking like he old self, like a new signing.

Hopefully we can win Tuesday to be right up there.

At a guess, our left back looked like he'd never played left back in his career before?

I thought I'd seen the softest goal ever when we played Orient a few weeks ago but the first goal against Torquay was so ridiculous it takes that crown.

Imagine deciding that you just aren't going to bother defend a corner and let someone basically trot up to the ball for a free header. An actual disgrace.

Hard to fathom how a side that in 11 days took 7 points off Sutton/Leyton Orient and Aldershot then continued with the form they've shown.

Definitely deserved.

Poor goal to concede. Clark and Winfield too high, giving your guy the whole half. Ashmore came out then decided to go back, giving him an empty net to aim at. Coolly done. Other than that, I would say we had around 80% of the ball in the first half but didn't threaten. We need a second striker, badly.

You could have gone 2 up early on in the second but for a fantastic save from Ashmore, and then the game became a bit dull with nothing happening until Bubb decided to launch himself at your guy.

Amazingly if we'd not conceded so many goals in added time we'd be out of the bottom 4 now.

I remember watching Holroyd in our youth/reserve teams ten years ago, along with Paul Rutherford, Kevin Roberts and Sean Newton. Wrexham seem to be relying heavily on our old youth players these days :bg:.

Yes we had a good youth system back then, but the mad yank dismantled it and released all those players as well as a few others (whose names escape me).

They moved on in the final days of 'He who shall not be named'. There were several others who finished up playing at this level.

I remember we only beat them 1-0 in both games and we were lucky in them both as well with late winners.

Conceded a few late ones ourselves, two in in the last few weeks. Still content with where we are. Can see us losing tonight though.

That was genuinely the worst exhibition of professional football I’ve had to witness since we drew 0-0 with Kingstonian in 2008. The state of the pitch didn’t help, but it was beyond chronic from both sides for the most part (though if Boreham Wood has been 4-0 up at the break it wouldn’t have been an unfair scoreline). I honestly enjoyed losing 5-0 to Swansea more a few years back, because at least the Swans were worth watching.
Pfft, pure hyperbole. It wasn't that bad. First half was a very poor showing and we were very lucky to still be in it at half time, but we weren;t that bad in the 2nd half and grew slowly into the game.

Admittedly, it was rubbish. But if you think that was the worst exhibition of football you've had to witness then you must have started supporting the orient immediately after Solihull Moors away. I can think of 5 or 6 performances off the top of my head from this season alone that have been far worse.

Still, no idea at all why Holman wasn't deployed.

You are the anti-Aldershot. They seem (and this is with zero checking) to score late winners most weeks.

We've had quite a few this season, which makes up for last season where we seemed to concede late on every time we had a big game (FGR away, Lincoln away, Barrow at home are three that come to mind)

Performances from Orient? Yes. Overall quality of the spectacle from both sides? No.

Remember Holman having a 3-month loan at Wrexham and getting 20 minutes. He then went to Woking and couldn't stop scoring.

We had Dan Holman and Louis Moult on the bench while Andy Bishop started at times. Criminal!

Five welcome points from three consecutive away games. That last minute Guiseley equaliser on NYD still annoying me though.

Chester giving this trying-to-stay-up lark a whirl after all then. Still don't think there's a single side above them that are that bad to get dragged into a relegation DOG-FIGHT mind.

I'd like to throw our hat into the ring, after all we are a CURSED club (©Soup Ladle)
