There are so many on here these days, it’s getting quite confusing, can someone (Chief?) please do a definitive ranking of the Chesterfield fans? Must be 20+ now. Or at least class them into categories ie ‘sound’, ‘plank’, etc? Spire-UK, Hans, Dan, DN spire, even ODL (apologies if I’ve missed anyone who’s not a tosser) all seem fine. This new breed though since Chessie started bothering the top of the table… not so much

We’ll just quietly go about our business, and move up the table..

While we're on that too, did any of the Chesterfield fans on here go to the match yesterday? There's been hardly any posts about the match.
I was there, and thought both sides defences were outstanding on the day, in particular for us Jamie Grimes… the guy is playing like a man possessed atm, I’ve never seen him lose a header. I can honestly only remember 2 chances for both sides all game. I think Clifton should have atleast hit the target with his header, but it wasn’t as bad a miss as some have suggested. Your keeper also made a great save from Kellerman first half which I was sure was going to find the bottom corner!

Our goal came from Pearson losing his first header of the game to Kerr, with the ball then falling into the path of the one man we all wanted it to, and what a finish. He had one of his poorer games yesterday Tshimanga, but your 3 man defence marshalled him well which you’d expect when it’s 3 v 1 and most of the balls up to him were in the air due to the nature of the game. But one of his biggest strengths is patience, even in a game where he’s not getting a sniff for the majority, he never loses his head and he keeps getting in the right position. He’s outstanding, I struggle to see any other forward in this league or the one above that are as good at what he does!

Got to give a shout out to our away support aswell, outstanding from start to finish. Didn’t hear a peep from Grimsby fans but that’s probably because I was deafened by our own support, what a day!!

Stand out players for Grimsby IMO, Pearson and Efete who I thought did as he could against whittle and miller who kept doubling up on him. Could be one of the strongest blokes I’ve ever seen aswell, tshimanga absolute bounced off him when he went shoulder to shoulder at one point!

I must say I really enjoyed my day out in Cleethorpes this season and was very glad not to encounter any dogshit, rats, or obvious occurrence of incest.

Let’s hope Chesterfield can maintain these high standards.

This is incredibly tiresome to read and very unnecessary. I don’t really want to wield any mod powers as I’m all for letting discussion flow but this is pretty pathetic.

Back on the topic of the weekend’s games please.

Chesterfield did what needed to be done against a team playing at home who's only game plan was to park the bus . They failed as Kabongo did what he does best and inevitably put them to the 3 pointed sword. Notts county and Halifax are the only teams I'd be concerned with at the moment.
Who's next.

If it was a choice between the two, I'd choose Rowe to stay and it's not even a question. Hopefully they'll both still be here though

I think we generally overestimate how attractive managers in this league are to ‘bigger’ clubs. Happy to be proved wrong in Rowe’s case though.

Weve gone through managers over the last few years like no other. FFS we employed Dean Saunders. I'd of liked to of seen Evatt get more of a chance but we were in a dire position, he did a great job at Barrow.
Our biggest down fall were the Sheffield mafia.

Are you going to do anything about the Scunny troll who keeps getting banned but then keeps coming back as a different poster ruining thread after thread?
Or is he gonna get away with doing it for months before finally being banned like the last time?

You might be right there, and tbh I hope you are a bit because after having a raft of terrible managers, Rowe is such a good one and I'd hate to lose him. Methodical in what he does, strong on the details, really knows how to organise a side, incredibly driven. His turnaround from where we were when he took over to where we are now is sensational. He's obviously been backed by the Community Trust which does help!

No, not you. You're definitely one of the sound Chesterfield fans, of which there are quite a few.

There's a fine line between banter and being a dick though and you and a couple of your lot clearly don't know where it is. Either that or there's a few of you on the spectrum, which would actually explain a lot to be fair. It's clearly not just me that thinks this either. Like I've said three or four times now just enjoy your win maybe?

I did. Really enjoyed the day apart from the rain on the way back to the station and the cancelled trains.
Cleethorpes is nowhere near as bad as folk make out in my opinion. Ended up in a couple of decent boozers and managed to avoid all the trouble.
Game was so so, I’ve watched us a lot and sometimes think we are in second gear a lot of the time. Either that or just winning ugly and that is in fact our style. Probably an element of both. It’s been banged on about a lot but the form we are in with the amount of injuries is starting to give me some confidence we can last the pace. Cue 3 straight defeats now I’ve finally stopped being pessimistic.
Great to see Asante back too :D

I thought you got 1710?
Just checked. 1660 which we said Friday we’re all sold. Not idea why so many no shows, in our group of about 12 we had 2 and obviously the riff raff didn’t make it as well

Yep was at the game. A poor game really, it had 0-0 all over it until Kabongo scored with a quality finish. He'd been battling on his own all game up front with no joy, no service.
He was well marshalled by the two Grimsby centre halfs.
Grimsby missed a guilt edged header in the first half and Town had a shot well saved just before half time by the Grimsby keeper.
The subs of Clarke & Khan in the second half saw Town playing with a little bit more creativity going forwards for the last 15 - 20 mins or so.
How did the Grimsby player miss at the end? Being at the other end of the ground unable to see how far out he was though.
It had 0-0 all over it until that goal.
Poor from Humberside Police at the end as well. They held all the rail travellers / people parked in Cleethorpes on the road outside, next to the railway bridge in the pouring rain and cold.
Then made everybody go over the bridge /railway line (covered in dogshit & mud) down, then up the other side of the wet muddy grass bank, up and over the sea wall & 20 mins along the sea wall into Cleethorpes.
Total darkness, no lighting on the bridge and grass bank & sea wall. Elderly fans , those with mobility issues all forced this way.
No health & safety considerations given by the Police match commander in charge.
Anyone could have slipped / fell and sustained a serious injury. Would be some interested Solicitors and claims in if there was !!
Also those who were shipped off out of Grimsby early by HP / BTP despite having match tickets.
Apparently no paperwork issued by HP / BTP to those sent back.
FSF need to be made aware, contacted by those impacted by this decision.

** However, from seeing the videos on social media, arriving in the home town at daft o'clock, 6 hours before KO, all dressed in Black, masked up, giving it the 'big un', marching around in the town centre, drawing attention to yourself possibly gave HP /BTP the reasons they required **

Football and banter go toe in toe. There's an ignore option available. Has some poor soul complained to you. I can give them a name of a good therapist if the internet is hurting them, remember it is winter and there's going to be a few snowflakes this time of year.

The day I take advice from a twat like you is the day I know that my life has hit an all time low.
Aghhhh you support Grimsby that all time low has arrived. Shame you have to revert to name calling. But I wouldn't really expect anything else from you.

Is it just me or is GTFC Fish the one who is name calling and being nasty to most people?
There is a pattern if you notice, I only name call trolls who are ruining the forum for everybody else.

So you speak for everyone now, haha, god you're full of yourself. You're the only one name calling so don't think you can take the high ground.

So you speak for everyone now.
Well yeah I would guess the majority of people on here have the same opinion of you as I have.
Including most of the decent Chesterfield posters on here.

Not from you sweetie pie. But I hope you enjoyed your lesson on Saturday on how to take 3 points from a team playing at home who's only game plan was to take a point by parking the bus.

Opinions are like arse holes, everyone has one. Yours got torn on Saturday. See youve still thinking you talk for everyone.thats some ego you've got. I understand my banter isn't for everyone but and a big but , I have you triggered or I would be on your ignore list by now.
