Ipswich best team we have played comfortably...the entire team was good whereas some of the others up there rely on 2 or 3. I think you'll be top 2 come the end of the season.
New striker this month you’d like to think. We lost 2-1 to Lincoln over these two games. Unbelievable

Watching the game on I follow. These Lincoln commentators must have been pulled out of the crowd surely. Totally clueless
When we were at Grimsby in the FA cup they got a young kid from each side to announce the teams. Was great, I loved it. It might actually also be fun occasionally to get a fan into the commentary booth, though I suspect Barrie might not last long before he is sent off for swearing.

Be interesting to see, in terms of against us both sides played very well and they beat us, however Sheffield Wednesday for instance were pretty meh both games and beat us so does that suggest Wednesday are more clinical results wise when not at their best?

I still think Ipswich and Wednesday will go up top 2. They’ll have the spending power over Argyle this month.

We have been “meh” in most games this season Piss poor in quite a few as well. I don’t know if the league is poor or we are just grinding out wins without hitting our peak yet.

We were good from January onwards last year so hoping for the same again this season.

Ipswich certainly seem to be the side who are faltering out of the three of us at the moment. I expect nothing less than both Ipswich and Wednesday to get their cheque books out and recruit well this January though and there is certainly alot of football to be played.

We have Bolton, Ipswich and Wednesday all away from home in our next 5 games. If we can come through these fixtures still within the top 2 then I think we may genuinely have a shout of staying there.

Didnt go today as had other plans, but seeing us go a player down at half time, i couldnt see anything other than a comfortable Ipswich win 2nd half. When i got the goal alert from BBC, expected that to be the Ipswich breakthrough, not a goal for us.

Damaging result for Ipswich considering other results, but still plenty of time left in the season

Thats 12 home games this season - 2 wins, 10 draws. Crazy!

Coming up we have Charlton, Burton, MK Cambridge etc. We need to be picking up some maximum points somewhere!

We’ve thrown away some ridiculous points in the last month or so. Charlton 4-2 up in the 96th minute, fleetwood 1-1 with the last kick, Wednesday 2-0 up with 15 to play, battered Cheltenham, Lincoln x2. Credit to you guys, just keep grinding out those wins. Have a feeling all 3 will end up in the 90s points wise. Plenty of twists and turns as yet.
Guessing you’ll sell out your 1900 allocation in a couple of weeks, will be a massive game!

Your the team of the season so far, and Steven Schumacher has done an excellent job. Unfortunately success brings attention and no doubt 'bigger ' clubs will be keeping an eye on him. Think the Blackpool job might be vacant by the end of the month .......

I do think it’s worse this season, in terms of the consistency. The top 3 are there on merit, but I think most sides below have had spells of shiteness.

Last season a record points total was required to make the playoffs, I don’t see that being repeated this year.

Also the relegation dogfight was a more clear cut thing last year - anyone down at the arse end of the table right now can still get out of it, no-one’s been cut adrift yet.

Basically the bread and butter of the division is a bunch of mediocrity (and yes, I absolutely include us in that, we seem to have turned things round, but we were dire in some early games) - anyone could yet put together a run and vault up the league, equally anyone could yet tank and go down.

Worse than last season then, but arguably more exciting in that everything will go to the wire.

Yeah I cringed at that, it did look off at the time but looking back at the highlights it's really close. Still think he was half a yard off when the ball was played but Wade's been a bit dramatic there.
I thought it was offside in the first instance watching on Ifollow, then on the replay, but for Wade to say it was 6 yards off was crazy.

Either way, even if he was off, we made it far too easy for Rovers with their two goals. It's a funny one, because defensively we've been so strong this season, but against Rovers the defenders have played like they don't know each other. All 6 goals they've scored against us could have been dealt with, or were actually our own fault.

I didn't think we were too bad in the first half, but we weren't great either. Second half was one of the most dominant I've seen from us all season, especially the first 20 mins or so. That we never scored an equaliser shows where our weaknesses lie.

Now hoping Freestone's injury is not as bad as it seems - he will be a huge loss if he's out for a length of time.
The first of ours was a great run by Collins matched by a perfect through ball. I think I can easily say we gave away the biggest gift in that game.
Interesting watching the replay of the 2nd goal and not one of your players appealed for offside.
We always shit our pants towards the end of games if we are only one goal up. The only time we have been comfortable in that position was vs Port Vale who hardly showed any attacking threat.
Jordan Rossiter is a massive miss for us at the moment though, we wouldnt have lost the previous 2 games with him playing. why Fleetwood let him and FInley leave is a mystery.

Unless the option to sign Mark McGuinness becomes available we won't be paying out any fees from what I've seen and heard.

Plenty of enticing fixtures for all of us to get our teeth into going forward thats for sure. We seem to have played most of the top sides at Home so far which now sounds a pretty daunting task having to try and pick up points away from home at the form sides. Yeah we should shift them pretty quickly I would image, going to make for some atmosphere

I think your spending power with regards to the wages of loanees may come into account then. Could be wrong of course but I certainly expect you guys to push on

Wasn't there yesterday either but another good result, and even more so given how the game panned out.

The Jackson sending off is just about right, I think if O'Connor had made a little more of an effort to get round on the cover, even by another yard or two, it would have been a yellow but it could have gone either way.

I said on here after the Burton game that this season we've usually seen a reaction after a stinking result/performance and that's been true again, and even better with doing so with 10 men in back to back games. We've been so, so good off the ball since the basketball 6-3 match at Bristol Rovers in October. We've had to sacrifice some, and at times a lot, of our attacking play to be like that but it's a good foundation to work from, and if we can find a balance and sign accordingly, we'll start picking up a few more wins in the second half of the season.

EDIT - And to lose our best midfielder to injury straight after the sending off wasn't ideal either!

Would have been good if they had showed this on the football highlights show but it only shows about 30 seconds of highlights for each L1 team so you don't get the feel of a game or even the build up to the goals. However for the other 4 hours of the show we are lucky enough to be able to listen to "expert" pundits like Clinton Morrison and Ian Holloway offering their fascinating analytical diagnosis of the matches and sharing with us their informed insight of the games talking points.

Spent more time on the red card incident as they like to only talk about the controversy .

3rd red card and 2nd of the festive period overturned for Shrewsbury as Pennington's handball was not deemed a red card offence.

We were awful for the first 20 minutes before the penalty, but playing for 70 minutes with 10 men has changed the game again (though probably would have still lost). The 2nd came straight away amid the chaos of losing a key player.
