I don't know if anyone else has noticed but he's lost about 4 stone. Looks pretty slim nowadays. Still a c*** though.

I think 'slim' is pushing it a bit!
And yes, he is still an utter c***.

Nixon says Oldham are in talks with an experienced manager today. Wouldn't be a bad appointment of it came off.

O'Driscoll has been pretty poor since his days at Doncaster, would be an iffy appointment in my opinion.

Don't see why Evans would turn down the managers job to become a DOF?

Don't think So'D is a great appointment but you never know with managers: He could end up reviving his career there, or ruining it even more than he already has.

No chance of reviving it. It's got to the point where a lot of fans couldn't give a toss who the next manager is. Whoever it is they are destined to fail until the future of the club is sorted out.

We have no manager and only 2 or 3 first team players currently. No goal keeper at the club or gk coach. We have 6 weeks until the start of the season and the only noises coming out of the club are the standard football league articles, and others advertising hospitality for the new season which is quite frankly a piss take.

On top of all that we have had a winding up order against us last week and an ownership set up that is more intricate than a tangled spiders Web. The owners have sliced and diced the club and land into that many different divisions they have made us possibly the most unattractive club in the football league for potential buyers.

It's got to the point where I think the only way it will go is administration and relegation. Given a choice between that or a status quo with the current set up taking the piss I'd probably take it

No, you had a winding up PETITION. Not a winding up order. WUP's are much less serious and are used to quickly settle debts.

Sorry for the oversight but regardless it ain't good. Could throw the fact the kits haven't been released yet in there as well as fans organising protests and boycotts ala blackpool

Hope things get better for you mate, I'm sure they will.

Vale have been through 2 Administrations in 2003 & 2012, in between which we have had years of backroom upheaval, constant budget cuts, players & staff not paid, fan protests, new owners taking money out and not putting anything in, a directors unpaid shares scandal, EGM's, fans being conned into buying worthless shares, just to name a few things!

Anyway, although we now have an owner in Smurf who IMHO I've never really warmed to due to the way he handles things (e.g. how he got rid of Rob Page and most of last seasons squad etc..), if all of these European signings that we supposed to be signing from France, Holland and Potugal this week coupled with Mourhinio's BFF at the helm, we seem to have started to come through the other side but obviously that remains to be seen this season - as it could also be disastrous.

I really feel for clubs in trouble such as Oldham and the likes of Hereford (Vale fans know just how bad it is as we've been there constantly over the last decade) who are or are almost run into the ground just so owners & directors can benefit and this is all at the expense of the clubs heritage and fans.

Good luck for this season and I hope it all sorts itself out!

We experienced it back in 2003 when Chris Moore did a runner with the season ticket money and left us in the shit. Was awful seeing them team that had come so close to promotion the year before dismantled and sold for peanuts. Fitz hall and clint hill sold on for a fraction of their true value only to go on and play in the premiership. The only plus was the togetherness of the fans through it all. The phrase "football without fans is nothing" gets banded about but it really was true in this case.

Paul Dickov? He was an absolute disaster at Doncaster, didn't he do quite well in his last stint at Oldham?

Oldham are too good of a traditional club to go down the shitter in the SOD form, the most cold, dismal uninspiring bastard I have ever come across.

Hope for your sake he decides a rocking chair suits him.

It's shefqi kuqi's job now according to reports. I'm sure they are just banding names about in an attempt to keep fans interested but in truth I've never been so Meh about my club. Not looking forward to this season one bit.

Applied for our job, caused huge panic (bearing in mind he'd just been relegation from the Finnish top flight!) looking for a job though so probably likely.

I think Smurf said he'd interviewed Kuqi but decided he wasn't ready for a managers job in this country yet. If you do appoint him it'll be interesting to see how he gets on.
