How bad was the sending off/penalty - did it warrant what I presume was HK’s reaction to be sent off?

This again highlights HK’s tactical issues. He again could not do anything to alter the game to control it better/tighten up. I don’t care how ‘brave’ or good our performance may have been - you cannot lose from 3-1 down and think positively of it.

I am now officially in the HK out brigade.

He didn't exactly come here with glowing reviews, but I'm still a little surprised by how much of a mess we look already. Most of the line up is square pegs in round holes even though it's a team he's built from scratch. Plus a 30 year old midfielder signed by him has already fallen behind a 17 year old in the pecking order who none of our managers in our awful team last year gave a single minute of game time to.

Has our clown been talking rubbish again?

More importantly, we were awful today and to be brutally honest, I don't think Yeovil were much better. They were the slightly better of two poor teams. We looked like a shadow of the team that were excellent against Alty. Our lack of experience/depth at the back is a serious issue that needs addressing. We badly missed Senior today although it doesn't help when someone like Mr Reliable in Summerfield was way below his usual standards. Just a poor day at the office. Hopefully a one off.

On a side note, Wild really needs to sort his discipline out. Before anyone jumps on me, I really like Wild and think he's done a great job for us overall. However, he gets carded way too often. Whenever things don't go our way he vents his frustration out at the fourth official rather than trying to sort the issues out on the pitch.

We needed the win, got it despite playing poorly , scored three but look nowhere near a promotion team at the moment.
Loads of stuff that needs sorting, too much sideways ball, weak defending from individuals and yet we are unbeaten, scored in every game and right in the mix.

We were alright today, it was a decent display. Surprising how easy Halifax made it though

He has so much obvious talent. I'm not sure the style of play in today's game suited him but he worked hard and I really like the look of him. As someone who was born in Watford i'll always champion anyone of the Golden Boys :)
That is good - something in common with the current England (except he probably isn’t a fan/follower!)

Wonder if he will ever get a chance with us?

Almost be better for him if we got relegated and had to play younger players.

Tricky innit, we’re not playing particularly well but there’s so many goals in that team that we can get away with it. Can see what we’re capable of in five minute flashes, but need to work out how to put it together more consistently.

Don’t think we’re close to finding the right balance. We can sit in and defend as we did at Wrexham, but when we set up to attack we look all over the place at the back. Got to try and find the happy medium.

You may have seen by now but I think it’s harsh. His arm is in a very unnatural position but the ball comes at some pace and it’s hard to tell if it was intentional or not. So whilst it was very debatable, it wasn’t the worst decision in the world and Kewell must have said something pretty bad to be sent off without warning.

Think your guys grew into the game in the first half but completely folded after the red card, which is obviously difficult but not impossible to deal with. Fantastic game for the neutral!

I think we'll abandon 352 in the end and end up 4 at the back. I think Mitchell will play more than I was expecting and we'll play more long balls up because the goals are coming from straight forward crosses and long balls for all the football we've tried to play.

Harry Kewell has a sending off in him, he's not shy in giving the ref a proper slagging off when he's not happy.
No good for the team though, just makes him feel better for about two minutes.

Watched the highlights and Pearson looked arthritic for the first goal then did his thing of blaming someone else even though he fucked up. Got megged then his legs just didn't work. Then got beaten off the throw-in and started harassing the ref claiming some sort of imaginary infringement had occurred, anything. It was simply flicked on and then chested home

Awful flap by the Barnet keeper on the second pen incident. I reckon both fairly harsh but were pens, can't go round waving your arms like that in the box. I'd want them given for my team. Not even sure that shot for the second wasn't going directly over the stand.

He might be a better manager if he concentrated on his job rather than bemoaning the refs all the time ?

Always at it even when in charge of our youth team which often lead to ill discipline on the pitch.

Where did you find the highlights? Been trying to find them but had no luck.

I watched it on the BT show last night. They usually upload the programme to Youtube soon enough after though.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Didn’t go to Meadow Lane yesterday, but managed to listen to whole of live match. Expected to ship at least 3 goals, but scoring 2 was a surprise. 3 at the back from both sides doesn’t seem to be working. Could have gone either way, but experienced quality was enough to sway it. Shots have plenty of heart and team spirit, but are far too raw and weak. A long season ahead.

Made hard work of it yesterday, bit sloppy at times and Aldershot were certainly better than previewed by their fans, which I’m sure must have surprised them too, but got the job done in the end. Eight goals in four games now for our front 3, if they can stay fit/not be sold for the majority of the season I think we’ll go close.

Yeah, had a look and it's just loads of UFC and Messi videos and the same Serie A matches that were on last week. I can only find Matchday One from this season on their Youtube channel.

Big downside about going down. National league think the BT deal is amazing because of one game on live tv a week. But every other side has to wait 48 hours before they can publish highlights. whereas EFL highlights are online within hours of the game finishing.

Bet BT pay pittance for the rights as well, but national league probably think its great. Bet the bigger clubs down here could make more from their own streaming service these days if they were allowed. Kinda like the Championship hating the deal with Sky Sports instead of selling their own rights.

I wouldn't be arsed about the 48 hours thing if BT got them online or on their app quickly after the show had been on but it seems they don't. Does anyone know if the show is repeated on BT?

As far as I can tell they've uploaded Matchday One (on 25th August when the matches were on the 21st) and they haven't uploaded any highlights since. If anyone knows where the rest of the BT highlights are and can point me in the direction that would be appreciated.

Still prefer clubs doing their own thing, remember when we first came down plenty of the "tinpot" clubs had their own highlights for free on youtube etc. and they were excellent quality too. Think FGR was one of them.

Cheers, appreciate that. Really wanted to watch the actual highlights show with sound though.

There was a club down in the South West (a few levels down) who had a guy on here that used to do the filming I think, I got quite into those ones.
