It's the Willy waving thread.
My willy is older and bigger than yours and yours isn't sustainable because yours is just a play thing for your rich owner etc..
If your willy isn't ex FL and hasn't been in existence for 100 years, then you do not deserve to be here and we hope your willy gets chopped off.
That's what this thread is all about.
It starts out as a useful collection of Away fan attendance each week, but then descends into willy waving tittle tattle for the disillusioned ex FL clubs contributors, to wave around at the newer smaller clubs fans, to remind them that they were once big time Charlies who are still living off the past & no matter what any new/smaller club does, it will be rubbished & dismissed as a silly willy FC.

Weren't Forest Green actually relegated in 2010 but only got a reprieve when Salisbury were demoted 2 Divisions?

I suppose you could say that their stay in The Conference ended in 2010 and their latest stay since then could be counted separately.

I was going to say after reading the last few pages, before people start getting high and mighty about FGR's pre-Vince history, they were reprieved twice in 2005 and 2010. Things could have been very different (or not, Weston Super Mare also got reprieve in 2010 so had the same chance) if those relegations had gone through.

Don't have much against FGR apart from the way they dealt with the PO semi-final. The idea that they are a 'growing club' is wishful thinking in my opinion. Fleetwood were getting bigger crowds at Conference level, and despite a meteoric rise into a successful League One team, their average crowds are still 3.5k, about 1k more. Crawley again got bigger crowds, not a huge rise despite finishing in the top 10 in League One, and actually it dropped last season to lower than some of the crowds they got in the Conference.

The only way I could see any kind of 'growth' is with a move to Stroud, and even then I'd say its highly unlikely that FGR would ever do better than Crawley or Fleetwood have.

If you actually read through the thread, it's actually him using threatening language and being a pathetic internet bully. I've not said anything other then I'll see him face to face, no messing about. Not gonna get bogged down with some idiot, either he meets me or he shuts up. That's all i'm saying on it.

Where was this from?
Here:
Forest Green Rugby Club brought about 76 to 82 fans given mine and a friends head count.

Very surprised we matched them for long periods and felt hard done by losing too them. Very well taken last goal but they could have and maybe should have been playing with ten men. Can tell we did well when FGR are playing the clock down.

Good side when they start playing though.

Just going to wade in here and say Chris, please show a little humility. Yes FGR are doing well at the moment but things can turn around quickly. Sure, enjoy the fact we are currently punching above our weight but you're not giving a very good impression of the club. Don't get riled so easily. FGR have always had a reputation as being a friendly, welcoming club and despite having Vince's money I don't think that has changed, the people in Nailsworth and the surrounding area haven't changed (just more come to our games, well home games anyway :emb:).
Sorry been lurking for years, and finally decided to un-lurk, um... de-lurk??
By the way I'm not a "tank" as my name suggests, so cannot help Chris in any fisty-cuffs. Just average height, weight, girth ... Oh, and have a tendency to over-share.

I'm not acting bbb about us being top. Never have done, never will do.

I'm just sticking up for the fact that we're not just some plastic rich man's toy and deserve respect for all the work that's gone on for 126 years to build up our club, despite what James Blunt's like English Red might think.

I actually don't mind FGR. A solid non league club of many years standing. I just think it's funny when someone tries to make the Vince thing out to be anything other than it is- a way to promote his business. And something he will inevitably drop when it makes financial sense to do so. Fans dont usually have much say in who buys their club so unless you have are really bothered by the changing of your badge/moving of grounds/vegetarian thing then just enjoy it and don't worry what anyone else says. He doesn't appear out to asset strip or drive your club into the ground like a Gutterman, Hamilton or Vaughan.

I would like you to point out my aggressive posts or where I was threatening you? Because I wasn't aware I was doing that. I haven't told you to shut your mouth, or offered to 'meet' you or called you a c*nt.

Fair enough Chris, would just suggest that you are representing the latest generation of those 126 years, so think twice about rising to provocation, be the bigger man. Oh and EnglishRed I think Vince's involvement started out as a promotional thing, but the club has clearly got under his skin and he's seriously passionate about it now. You don't try to build a £100m stadium & business development otherwise.

Fair words Frank. I admit I've been guilty of winding Chris up a bit, mostly because he got wound up so easily. I hope Vince is one of the genuine philanthropist chairman. As you say, the infrastructure development is impressive and probably beyond the wildest dreams of most FGR fans ten years ago.

I do admit I get a bit hacked off with certain fans of the smaller bank rolled clubs (not generally Forest Green it must be said *Vision cough*. Going on about how that model is the future and all the ex FL clubs should stop their crying and accept that they are an irrelevancy.

But yeah...attendances hey?

My research indicates it's only the dicks with no willies to wave who don't like willie waving threads. :bdick:

Wrong. Willy waving is done to mask inadequacies in other areas, by people with inferiority complexes.

Don't hear fans of proper "proper" clubs go on about their attendances. The likes of Man Utd and Liverpool don't show off and compare their crowds to the likes of Bournemouth and Watford, because they don't need to.

The likes of tinpot "proper" clubs, ie those that very few people in the grander scheme of things know or care about, like Grimsby, Wrexham, Chester etc seem desperate to big up their "amazing" support, which says a lot about them imo.

Yep, you never hear any of them mocking Man City's crowds do you.

The more you post, the more it proves how clueless you are.

Ah yes Man City. The fourth best supported side in the country. :ffs:

Anyone mocking them are on the same level intelligence wise as the likes of you and the other willy wavers on here from what are actually pretty insignificant clubs.

I don't think ive ever knowingly waved my willy.

Is it a southern thing?

I thought perhaps we could draw a line under his and return the thread to its original purpose. But seems not.

Chris

They may the fourth best supported overall, but the proportion of home fans travelling away is way lower than Chester's travelling army...
...and naturally Grimsby's.
