There was a lot more then 49 there, how did your club come up with that figure given it was unsegregated? There were more then 49 just in the seated section where most of our fans went, it wasn't difficult to count, plus a few others scattered around.

Not arguing that our away support isn't pretty shite though, because it is despite our brilliant offers on coach travel.

And £19 for 5th tier football is a complete piss take as well.

Aldershot literally make it up I swear. Absolute farce this season, being sent all the way up the hill to find the turnstiles locked. Then come back down and they didn't really care if you were home or away. Then you're directed to the seated bit and they announce a number that's less than the number in the stand.

When the opposition bring less than 50 fans?

We've never taken less then 50 to Aldershot. It's one of our closer (relatively) games. Last season we brought 100 on a Tuesday night. This year it was a bit less, probably due to it being televised, but it was still a lot more then 49.

A bit rich of Aldershot fans to take the piss as well I thought. They don't exactly travel in large numbers.

I reckon there was more than 50 Chester in stand. At least 80, plus the 50 standing.

It wasn't unsegregated, you had to enter through a designated turnstile and go into a block in the south stand, the only unsegregated part is that you entered through the home end and are able to use the same facilities as the home fans, which is only when there are less than about 100 expected. Therefore, the figure of 49 is obviously the amount of supporters that entered the ground through the away turnstile to go in the away section of the ground.

Also, when I was in the East Bank there is no way you had more than about 1/3 of that block full, and since it holds 170, I dont think 49 is that far off the mark.

And as for your complaints about our prices, I notice that yours are virtually the same as ours (despite the fact you have someone bankrolling the team that we don't have) http://www.forestgreenroversfc.com/tickets

Very funny! I think you will find we had the 5th or 6th best away averages last season and were in the top 3 or 4 as a percentage of home support so to say we don't travel in large numbers is a pretty strange statement!

I stand corrected. Maybe I was just assuming as you've never brought many here and your home attendance never seems very high.

At no point were me or the people I was with directed through any specific turnstile, I went through the same one as home fans nor were we told where in the ground to go. That was despite blatantly wearing an FGR scarf. Several of us had standing (south stand) tickets and at no point were they checked when entering the seated area.

If it wasn't unsegregated then it was just very poorly organised.

No one has yet been able to scientifically prove what a tranmere fan is full stop yet, never mind the ones that travel away.

Maybe not but you will have a chance to find out for yourself when we outnumber you at your place on Boxing Day

You're lucky. They didn't send us through any particular turnstile and then checked tickets like the gestapo to get in the away bit of the stand. Had to re-show it after going for a piss at half-time, for fuck's sake.

Grimsby vs Gateshead - 26 away supporters (att 3835).

37 Forest Green fans - that is appalling - i'm sure we took far more when we were there...
but then when Barrow played away at Forest Green several Barrow fans said that the gate looked like it had been inflated by 400-500, so maybe they just have little or no fans....

Barrow population, c 57k
Nailsworth population, c 6k.

Our direct catchment area is roughly a tenth of yours, so you should have significantly bigger support.

Also Barrow is hardly the place I would want to be for a pleasant weekend. Any weekend away must be seen as a great excuse for locals to escape that absolute dump. Surprised you don't take more away.

Would be a valid argument if they weren't a stone's throw from arguably the most beautiful part of England.

Yeah but Barrow itself is a shit hole tbf. It's also uncomfortably near Sellafield.

Also the lake district is pleasant enough, but once you've been there on holiday you don't need to keep going back, it's not that amazing.

When you put it like that it sort of makes a mockery of the plans to establish FGR as a league club.

Or it shows how amazing it is that we've established ourselves at this level for nearly 20 years, and the fact is that our average gates are now around 1500, 25% of the population of the town. Not many teams can claim that, and it is a testament to our brilliant efforts to engage with and attract the interest of the local community..

Exactly. What is the point? It's all very well, but joke clubs like this cause real damage to the viable FL outfits, inflating the wages market and getting in the way of real clubs that actually have something to offer to the game, and for what? The twat at Eastlee isn't even a fan of the club, he's an Oxford supporter on an ego trip, :£
