Top of the league at KO, 1 hour trip, average more like; Lincoln would have taken more for a similar trip (especially if it was a tenner to get in)...
It is still an impressive following from Tranmere, irrespective of what others may or may not have brought.
P.s what's with your constant arse kissing of Lincoln?

Well we have to acknowledge our county neighbour's new found massiveness, especially when it's a tenner a ticket, 7k at home to a lowly League 1 team and 5k going to a mid-table championship side that used to be good 30 years ago...

Obviously few games are segregated and there are guestimates being made in some cases, so dont go willy waving saying your side had definitely 300+ at Brackley in a crowd of 275

North West clubs as expected come out quite well given the high number of local trips. Factoring in distance travelled, Darlington probably come out best but that stat is irrelevent until the end of the season

I still can't work out whether you're taking the piss out of Lincoln or Tranmere or both... :P

I'll update the South one tomorrow after the Poole vs. Gosport fixture but I'd be amazed if the away average even gets to half of the 149 North average.

From today:

300 Wealdstone at Maidenhead
350 Chelmsford at Bishop's Stortford
At least 600 Dartford at Ebbsfleet

Not Tranmere - us and Lincoln. We endlessly took the piss out of Lincoln for failing to fill the away end at Blundell Park, I'm sure they would given current form and we really aren't a much bigger club than them; but they do seem to have attracted a lot of part-timers who like the tenner a ticket.

El Grassico is my favourite derby - Scunny is a more bitter rivalry I think.

Funny you mention that, seems agreed that Fylde took about 250 to Chorley yet that deluded Fylde media lad has posted elsewhere on social media that they had 500 there

That's cool. I'll make sure I get a copy on Good Friday. Helps with your ground giving exact figures like us, Stockport, Halifax and mostly Alty. Not many of your away games after then either. Will be interesting to see how it matches up

I've no idea how many they took. Yeah he does go over the top so I am cautious with his figures. I know they were on about taking 3-400.

As a neutral on this issue, I can only speak from impressions formed over the decades: Grimsby are a significantly "bigger" club than Lincoln, as far as such things can be gauged, although Lincoln themselves are among the biggest of the clubs that habitually hang out in leagues 1 & 2. Both are at least twice as "big" as Scunthorpe United, who I will always place in the same bracket as ourselves, Rochdale, Torquay, Darlington etc. :bdick: It is of course a given that there are no grounds whatsoever to even consider comparing our clubs with Tin Pot shit like FGM, Eastlee, Fleetwood etc. :£:£:£:£

Well we got 5000 home fans yesterday when it wasn't a tenner a ticket apart from adults in the family area.
You guys are bigger than us BUT I firmly believe we are both bigger than Scunny.
I always thought they were great model to follow of how to maximise the potential of a small club and getting them as far up the leagues as possible but I notice they lost £2.6 million last season!

Good noise and some decent if obvious comedy. No you can't play us every week :D

It's a shame we've been crap for so long. I well remember the first time we met at your place in 2007 and we had around 1300 (whole terrace along the side and a bit behind the goal I think). Those were the days hey..

2-2 wasn't it? Good game that.

Remember a 3-3 at Plainmoor as well the year you went up. Seem to have had a few entertaining games, we just can't stop you scoring.

That's the one. Indeed we have. 9 last season, 17 this year... 24 next year?

892 Wrexham at Southport today. That's more than we get ourselves for some games.

Great turnout considering how utterly dreadful we are. Deserve a lot better.

Fylde did that when they played in Barrow - there can't have been more than 20 there and they said something like 200. Not been to their new ground, but I wouldn't believe the attendances they're apparently getting.

Don't know how many season tickets they sold. I went and it got given at about 1500 (85 away). Unless a few were hiding in the stand it was probably a bit over what was there. (Looked maybe 1200 or so- either way, much more than 356 and 479 which is what were there on my 2 visits to their old ground)

I'll make a point to have a longer visit next time, hopefully in a league game
Up at the top of the hill there are loads of boozers, plenty of which do good selection of real ales if that's your thing. A lot of fans love Lincoln as an away day, but I wouldnlt recommend going to the ground until just before KO to be honest!

Scunny have always had a moneyman. Before Swann, it was Wharton.
