We just sold 1700 tickets for Stockport away inside an hour. Our massiveness will not cease.

Yes all very good but what about tomorrow night? As far I can see we haven't topped 5,000 for a Tuesday night league game for over 10 years. We've already done that for tomorrow. If we top 6,000 I think it will be the best for 18 years.

Talk on RP is around 400 making the trip over to Grimsby. Which for an awful journey on a Tuesday night isn't bad.
And i think the 1700 figure for Stockport is not quite true (yet) as Stockport are saying they have only sold tickets for the one end and not the allocation in the side stand...
But i don't think anyone really knows what the hell is going on!

No-one seems to know exactly how many of our fans were at Stockport but it was around 200

Lots of horses and dogs will be required

Advertised as Sold Out on our site. But what you say maybe true. Seems to have been 1200 for behind goal and 500 in side stand.
Must admit always thought behind goal was bigger than that

They opened the side stand for us as an overspill and maybe 100 went in there instead of behind the goal which was not quite full as a result. Lots of horses and dogs yes, but we behaved impeccably. If it had been on the bank holiday with a direct train there may been some high spirits...

Don't think we'll quite hit the 6k with 400.

It's not brilliant when your boys are willy waving about getting 8000 at home. We'd take probably double that if the fixture was reversed.

Sure you would. Does no-one in Grimsby work?
To be fair, I think we'll have more exiles in the North West than Wrexham have in Lincs.

If your "new" fans are like Lincoln's not many do longer distance away games or be loyal for away games longer term. Lincoln averaged 1,300 away in their League 2 championship season but they had some 4k followings to Notts and MK. They are down to 5-600 for most games now, but still have 8k home fans every game.

Best crowd for 18 years excellent! Just shows how attractive a match against Wrexham has become these days. For all the petty jealousy we are good for every club financially in this league this season

Take it up with the fixture planner...if it was a Saturday you'd hit that 6000! ;)

Hollywood or not, I doubt most can be arsed going all the way to Grimsby on a shitty Tuesday night where it'll probably be off when we get there because of weather or the Grimsby variant.

Plus with so many fans just buying tickets to their first ever away match, they'll probably just wait until after the 25th to see what it's all about before lining up any other trips.

Are we? We averaged just over 1,300 in the curtailed L1 season as well.

This season we're at around 700 but have been at Gillingham, Oxford, Wycombe and Cambridge.

It holds around 1,350, may have changed by a few dozen since all the seating was replaced. I think 1,200 will be for unallocated seating, which is always 90% of full capacity. Grimsby had lots of empty spaces on the sides since they were all grouped in the middle.

BTW I'd appreciate if one of you chaps would post on your forum warning against getting a ticket in the home end. Things were already turning a little toxic in the Cheadle End last weekend, and in a game of this stature I can see things boiling over.

Yes looked about that to me, those blocks hold 450 each and it was around half full

Thought that would attract a bit of incoming from “above”.

1200 to Cambridge on a Saturday - 100 mile 2 hour trip is a local derby for us (and it seems the police agree) so like I said 5-600 for most games or 7.5% of your home fan numbers. I guess you’ll have 3-4K at Wednesday for the big day out.

I've read that last sentence a couple of times and I'm still no clearer what you are trying to say
Given that we took 1200 to Stockport, we would have taken 700 to yours which is an hour(ish) further from Grimsby. I’m inclined to agree.

Ah I see.

Have you taken 700 to us before? on a Tuesday? I do sometimes forget how massive Grimsby are. In 2014 you took 360 on a Saturday

Don't let the facts get in the way.

Grimsby fans proper hate it when a team at this level all of a sudden gets bumper crowds. Reminds them too much of their biggest rivals becoming MASSIVE overnight.

Straw man. I never implied that we have always taken 700 to Wxm nor that we always will but right now, if we'd been at home on Saturday and were playing you away tomorrow, there'd be 700 there as a minimum. With 6000 season ticket holders you'd have to say 400 was below average, if that's what you bring. I supect it'll be over 500, closer to 600.
