I can’t really think of a reason behind it either. Still, a decent payday for us. Should be a gate well in excess of 8k. Yet again the NL putting L2 to shame.
Surely more like touching 10k? 5500 home supporters for that fixture would be disappointing wouldn’t it?

I think about 6-6.5k home fans. We’ve dropped to eighth, albeit through mostly not playing, and Grimsby are even lower. I think if we were both top 4 it would be more like you suggest, and if we go on another run before we play you, and you bring 2.5k/3, I think that one will be 10k+. Unless BT get their greedy mitts on it, of course.

I think the way it works (not totally sure on this, but can remember reading it somewhere, possibly about another club) is that we have to give the standard allocation of 10% of the capacity of whatever it is, but if clubs want more than that they have to buy them off Notts directly and then sell them on.

It’s one of the reasons we stopped pay on the day, I think. There’s been a few examples of clubs massively overestimating their away support and leaving us with loads of food to chuck etc.
But why would a club do that? Just send the unsold tickets back. This is the one away game in the season where people could plan for a day out in a group of mates, some might not be regular fans, on a Saturday 3 pm KO, as it should be. I'm in group of 7, it was 9 but 2 have COVID. We also do the rugby at Leicester for one or two games a season, TV scheduling sometimes messes up plans but of course sorting tickets, pubs, watching the game holding a pint is easy. For football it's a pain the arse trying to organise.

That makes sense in terms of explaining it, cheers. I'm with Limerick Mariner though in that it's not a great way of doing things. If they're worried about food then just sort enough food for the initial allocation and make sure you've cans of beer for if all the draught goes. Nobody is kicking off if they can't get a hot dog.

Haha I remember at Southport in 2015/16 I spent the whole of half time queueing up to get a burger and then the guy before me bought the last one and I was fucking livid!

Buying food at a football ground, the joke's on you. That's only acceptable if you've been on a session beforehand and haven't had a chance to eat yet.

Was the initial allocation and the extra 500 not on sale for long enough for everyone who wanted one to get one?

We’ve a good record against big followings this season (well, Wrexham (2k) and Stockport (1600). Plus Southend brought nearly a thousand), so hoping this continues!

Initial Stones allocation at Barnet sold out in three hours and the buggers haven’t released anymore tickets.

The extra 500 went on sale today at 10am and was gone by about 11am and there's already a healthy reserve list for any drop outs by all accounts.

Our form is alright in our big away followings, 7 points from 12 in the 4x 4 figure followings so far (Stockport draw, Alty and Woking wins, loss at Halifax).

Really looking forward to it, regardless of any ticket chat, it'll be a decent crowd like you say. Bit worried my seat is gonna be tucked away in the corner though. Row X of Block Z3 (which is the final block). Should be able to get a decent picture of the following if that's the case, I guess.

I’ve got a feeling BT will definitely televise one of our fixtures. We should still bring 2000 if on tv though probably 3 if not.

Yep we got there and went straight into a working men’s club right next to the ground and were drinking in there until about 10 minutes before kick off, I was ravenous by half time,

The additional 500 Notts sent us have sold out in an hour so 2,500 sold in total. They've probably missed out on a bit of money by not sending us more. Will be too late for a 3rd batch I guess.
Doubt it'll get beaten. You can put that one in the hall of fame.

We'd have taken double what we took if we were given the tickets, but Notts refused. I'd imagine Grimsby would be similar.

Well if the reason of restriction is what Jacob says then I imagine Chesterfield will buy as many as they can as they'll know some dodgy loophole to claim back additional money from all the unsold ones, meaning they could well take 3,000+.

Actually seen an explanation via Twitter that I think makes sense. Basically, the concourse in that stand isn’t fit for purpose (remember it being very small for the size of the stand when it used to be the home end), and its safety certificate might now have some specific rules attached to it. One of these maybe being that when a following over a certain size (I am speculating possibly 2,500 here) is in it, the gates onto the street have to be opened all the way along at half time, and the police have to close the road, meaning that the policing/stewarding costs go up exponentially. So it probably isn’t cost effective for us to have, say, 3,000 in there. It’s 2,500 or the whole lot.

Ah okay, yeah that definitely sounds like a plausible explanation. Cheers!

How's the C'field ticket sales coming along for Tuesday's big game? Only asking as it's nearing a home sell-out

Think we’ve sold the full 1900.

It’s been done weird, 1200 went on sale for everyone behind the goal then 700 for elderly and families only down the side which seems weird way of doing things.

The 1200 behind the goal have definitely gone, unsure on the 700 but some think they went too

Yeah it's bizarre and just makes no sense at all. The reasoning will be that that is our "family stand" so to speak but you can't just sell tickets in a certain area to families and old people, how on earth do we police that? Daft.

Think we did the same to Bolton and that is what made it cut short as a full house because they didn't sell those two blocks. If you lads can get it all filled, it'll be pretty much a full house.

That’s my worry. I know a few who don’t have tickets and want to go but could be they can’t buy tickets in this area so we’ll have sold out what we can but the away end won’t be full.

Will try and find out how many of the 700 are left.

Absolutely bizarre from us. Don't even know when they started that stupid rule. You could argue it's discriminatory. And what counts as a family? Family of four? Dad and his son?
