I heard Grimsby fans who had smuggled themselves in to the home end got picked out by the stewards and sent to the away end?

Glad to hear the positive reviews on the stewards. I must admit I have not seen such a police presence for an Alfreton game in a long, long time
For our visit, the way the Alfreton police acted made me think of Heartbeat (no, I never watched it!), going into every shop and pub and saying hello!

:lol::lol:

Never watched Heartbeat myself either but the Police talking to opposition fans in pubs and the like is fairly common place here. Unheard of down South tho ;)

The stewards and police I encountered were very friendly and I've nothing but praise for the way they handled things today. We even managed to get in a pub "Bluey's Aussie Bar & Steakhouse" in Alfreton too, just a few minutes walk from the away end, and they also were very good too.

One of the best places in town that and the owner is a Alfreton fan too. Supporters Association and other meetings are regularly held there. The meet and greet with the new Americans investors took place there too

As noted above, a group of around 50 Harriers fans (and two Telford fans) walked from Kidderminster to Telford yesterday. I just wanted to give a little more info on why this was. This was is memory of Charlotte May Pountney, daughter of two Harriers supporters, who was born sleeping at full term in June last year. During the aftermath, the parents were supported by a local charity named Towards Tomorrow Together who aim to relieve the distress by parents that lose a baby during pregnancy, birth or as an infant by providing a variety of resources and services.

To show their appreciation, the Pountney's arranged for the group to walk the 35 miles to Telford yesterday raising money to support the charity, leaving Aggborough at 6am on Good Friday and the final group arriving at the New Bucks Head at 9pm on Friday.

They are currently just short of their target of £15,000.00, so if anyone would like to donate, please feel free, either by going onto https://www.justgiving.com/walktelford, or texting KHFC50 and the amount to 70070.

Bristol Rovers fans - just to let you know, there will be a bucket collection at our match tomorrow and any donations will be most welcome.

Just to update, the target of £15,000.00 has been beaten. Thanks to anyone who has donated. Thanks also to any Bristol Rovers fans at the game who threw money into the flag collecting money at half time. :brill:

Some asked to go through and a dad and lad were picked out by stewards about 6 seats away from us - all very politely done. Once they'd done this, and seeing that an overflow area had been left we asked to go through - it seemed to be the Gy stewards that were called by the Alfie stewards to take us through - very slick operation.

Rovers and Gy are the top two away followings below championship level today, both beating PNE at Bratfud. 12 better in League 1 this season.

I took this picture 45 minutes before kick-off and it was already rammed in there by then. It filled up quite a lot more than that by 3pm as well as the sides of the stand. We sat in the seats in the side stand just by the half way line.

If you carry that picture about another inch to the left, is where we were stood, and 2nd half whenever we were attacking down the right wing? we could see pretty much sweet FA!!

Same place that we ended up in, think they need to get a hairdryer on that pool table though, someone spilled a pint all over it!!
One unsavoury part of the day though walking back to the car past a different pub, about 20 Alfreton fans hiding behind a line of police mouthing off trying to act hard, started singing your just a small town in Lincoln, we all just walked past laughing at them! :ffs: :shut:

Thought it was a little dangerous at the time  But glad the target has been beaten!

Very accommodating bunch at Kiddy, as I suspected they would be despite it being a decade since the last visit there! Best of luck for the rest of the season

It looked really good, didn't try it though! You must be the first person I've seen on TFF to hold that point of view...

Kiddy has the best food at any football ground by a country mile.

A video of our fans at Alfreton yesterday.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Why are so many of your fans 13 year olds in stone island and a pair of Adidas with a joey Essex hair cut?

I wanna know how the fella managed to stay still when they scored. I'd have been all over the gaff.

We have got a load of young kids who follow us now and fair play to them I say. I've known the good times, the wins at Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Wembley (twice in 3 weeks) and many more away games and seeing us clinch league titles in front of 20,000+ fans packed into Blundell Park. These kids will only have ever know us being rather shite and not seen any real success. I think it's great that they follow their hometown club rather than one of the big Premier League sides.

I just hope they continue going as they make a great atmosphere but I just hope they learn to behave themselves when they get a bit older.

I would say at least 850-900 Barnet fans (leaving 730-680 Dartford fans). We had more behind the goals than them and in the 2nd half there wasn't 1 Dartford fan in our attacking half. Also noticed a group of 15-20 Barnet fans strangely by the defending corner flag.

Good support by the top 3 yesterday.

I'd hope we can take at least the same number to Kiddy next week. Not up to the numbers of the 2 giants in Rovers & Grimsby but not bad.

Yeah, at first I thought we comprised about half of the crowd at Dartford but other Barnet fans who had situated themselves along the side of the pitch stated that there were definitely more Bees than Darts in the crowd.
I think we can take 1000 to Kiddy, which would be a good effort by us and equivalent to Bristol Rovers' following there yesterday as a proportion of our total home supports.

Well true but then 4000 against your home core support of 5500 is not much different from 1000 out of our core home support of 1700 and there is the fact that Kiddy is a smidgen closer to you than it is to us to consider as well.

Bristol Rovers would've been 4100/5500 =75%
Barnet's estimate 900/1700 = 53%
So quite a big difference to be fair.
I am not trying to have a go at Barnet's support or get a rise out of anyone there, just stating a fact.

It doesn't get much better, but I hate to see someone skew the figures.
4000/5500 was used as was 1000/1700, giving 72.3% and 58.8%

The BBC made the mistake on Saturday, they must not have noticed :ffs:

To be fair probably Associated Press (AP) who collect and distribute most of the stats. Just like the other year when they misreported one of the Mansfield games and some bookies paid out on the wrong result!

Tbf, you have to go on home attendances of which ours is 6200. Either way, if Barnet take 1000 away to Kiddy, thats phenomenal support
