Signs of improvement?

I've not been impressed in the 4 competitive games I've seen - the defeat against Stafford, the 2 FA cup games against Abbey Hey and the 1-0 win over Whitby.

That said, 4 straight league wins and 6 unbeaten all in is undeniably an improvement, so maybe I've just not seen it fully yet. We won 4 league games last season!

Ooof, lost 5-2 at Workington.

A man sent off and two pens conceded, 2-2 after 66 mins. Bad day at the office by all accounts

I see Richard Brodie scored a 6'(pen) last Saturday for Skelmersdale United in front of 99 spectators.

Alty 6 - 0 Farsley

How Farsley were 2nd going into tonight I don't know - the scoreline flattered them. They were inept, especially the keeper. .

Anyway, been 31 years since I saw Alty score 6.

Well, I did say back in August, they'll come a day those seven will hit the back of the net.
Damn! You only needed one more, great result

Fair enough, you did.

No James Poole last night either. Farsley were the dirtiest side I've ever seen, worse than Boston United of old. Plenty of GBH last night, 6 yellows, no reds though.

I'm astonished Alty have drifted out to 10/1 with Bet365 :ohm:
Especially with 2 games in hand on the leaders Witton, and only 5 points behind them.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Stalybridge really need to ditch sentiment and sack Burr.....at this rate they are dropping another level....they should have given the previous managers more time.

On top of that they seem to be releasing and signing masses of players on a weekly basis

They've just signed another four players over the last week or so, he seems to be signing players and releasing them on a continuous cycle. Burr doesn't seem to have a keen eye for talent if that's the case.

The league table as it stands doesn't offer Stalybridge much hope at the moment.

Not far off getting their slowly, if you win your game in hand you'll be breathing down on the leaders. Two points behind them, personally as the league is beginning to take shape. I think this year even at this early stage could be between Stourbridge and Alty!

But this is a somewhat funny league, and can throw up strange results at times.

Been to watch Stalybridge twice already this season when I've had nowt to do on a Tuesday night. First one was the 1-0 defeat to Buxton, second was last nights' 1-0 win against Halesowen

Both times they played pretty well, were unlucky to lose to Buxton and deserved to win against Halesowen and were rarely troubled (but for 1 or 2 hairy moments).

I like the lad they have in centre mid, Ollie Roberts. He's a busy central midfielder with a good range of passing. Dickinson wins a lot in the air, but doesn't do a whole lot else and needs to lose the beer belly.

Think they'll be alright over the course of the season from what I have seen.

Halesowen thought last night were an appalling team!

Am I right to think that only one team goes down from the premier division this season? If so then Stalybridge should stay up. I've seen them this season as well and I doubt they're the worst team in the league. They just don't score very often.

There you go, held 0-0 by Staly. Bit of a duff result that.

Beat Rushall 4-0, 1 point behind the leaders in 3rd now. Since going out of the FA cup, that's 16 points from 18, 19 goals scored with 1 conceded.
