How would it be 'disastrous?' It would be disappointing but that is it. Find it quite funny that of all teams Notts County, who have regularly spent way beyond their means then got the buckets out to stay up/in business feel in a position to comment on our own teams outlay.
The buckets will be back out when they go down and Hardy leaves.

You two do realise it was just one Notts fan on this internet football forum who said that? And now somehow it’s ‘Notts County’ who have said it? :ffs:

Please don’t take what’s said on here too seriously guys, there are plenty of trash talked and stupid things posted by fans of all clubs in this excellent L2 forum, some absolute beauties of examples coming from overexcited Stags fans only recently. Plenty of examples surely you’ve seen them :shifty:

Both Notts and Mansfield are overspending massively compared to the level of support and money coming in which isn’t from the owner, it’s not an argument either of us are likely to win.

I would say the pressure to win every week in a promotion race is just as big as battling against relegation, your rivals are mostly winning, and you’ve got to do the same to keep up/stay ahead. Our rivals are mostly losing. Even if we don’t beat Mansfield., I’d be fairly confident about beating Newport.

I would guess not getting promoted again would be pretty disastrous for Mansfield given the outlay they’ve made, Flitcroft’s comments about the ref today certainly shows he’s feeling the pressure, the fucking plastic Mourinho.
I think Flitcroft mentions strong refereeing before most of their games. He certainly has in the two against us.

Didnt a Lincoln player throw a punch at one of ours earlier in the season?

Agreed. Slightly surprised that my comment about not going up would be disastrous for Mansfield caused so much knicker wetting.

Caroline said promotion was the clear goal under Evans last season so 2 failed attempts would be a kick in the guts. I’m sure they will get up this time, so nowt to worry about.

FFS. Why isn't this game on the box? I know I wouldn't be able to watch the whole 90 mins bt still. TBH I'd rather watch a game such as this one than some Swansea v Stoke type shite. Or Burnley v Fulham. Or....well, I trust you all get my point.

I know not a single one of us wants to sample the delights of NL footy, but if theres one thing to be said for the Motorama league is that one gets to watch loads of games involving all the other sides down there. Bar Gateshead of course ;)

To be fair seeing a full Meadow Lane away allocation opposite the TV cameras going nuts after scoring a goal always looks good even if it means bad news for us , it’s great viewing for the neutrals

Plus we could do with the added TV cash on top of the big gate

I’d much rather watch another league 2 game tbh, would be much more fun.

You get about 10k for a televised game, so moving it to Monday night like our game with Lincoln is actually going to hurt the club financially. Not to forget those bulldozers will probably injury half our squad too.

And I can’t get to them lol!

Though the night that notts police decided to move our game at county a Friday night is still legendary

I shouldn’t be a really big crowd but it probably will be and when that happens we rarely turn up. Countless examples of it, only really the Crewe game, who we always beat, has bucked the trend.

Big promotion of the game, big crowd is great for the finances but never good for the scoreline. If we lose, it’s vital respond with a win against Newport

We always used to do “amber days” which we nearly always fucked up on the pitch, even remember losing 4-1 at home to rushden and diamonds! Whatever happened to them!?

Please tell me all about ‘Amber Days’ after Saturday. I’ve never heard of it before, I must of been overseas

Looks like there could possibly be over 12000 at the Lane for the early kick off , which is undeniably impressive

Even though Stags have a worse disciplinary record than us in the latest fair play league standings. A bit like when your team kicked us off the park in that Checkatrade game at SB.

Not a competitive fixture/tournament so doesn’t count anyway

Cheers for the bite, that was the game a Lincoln player literally assaulted one of ours was it not?

I never knew Field Mill has been in continous use even before Notts County were founded, obviously was aware it was the 'oldest professional stadium' because a big sign says it on the Quarry lane end.

Just a shame those tinpot bastards in Sheffield have a older club and Stadium, but we all know the true foundation of professional football is in Nottinghamshire.

Order restored on this thread, good to see! God knows what state it will be in this time tomorrow :bg:

Predictions? I’m going 1-1, Grant to put the visitors ahead but Hemmings stepping off the bench to net a 2nd half equaliser.

At least the weather forecast is a hell of a lot better than last season!

No Spanish Stag so shock horror the thread stays on track ( well at least till kick off ) . Makes a nice change to have a matchthread that isn’t inundated with alcohol influenced ramblings and embarrassing errors .

Happy days

Last season I literally just got through the turnstile and the snow and wind was that bad the concourse area was getting filled with snow just from the small turnstile gaps.
