Why is there a rivalry between Carlisle and Darlo?

George Reynolds.

but it used to be the away game we'd always even when terrible take alot of fans, I do miss feethams really.

but we were taking 2000 plus to darlo's new ground, we sometimes never even fill that 1,000 stand at pools..............don't ask me why as i do not know, but Darlo used to just bring that extra lot of away fans than other trips.

I'm not 100% sure it's his official account, but Ronnie Moore has referred to this game as 'the big one' and Pools' 'cup final' on Twitter.

Saw that before, it is his proper account as far as I know. Nice to see he's completely ignoring the hammering his team took last night and pretending the game against us is more significant. After last night's draw Hartlepool is anything but our cup final.

To be honest this season ANY of the north teams are big games for the other north sides because it'll be the only 3-4 games when we get any sort've away support.

especially I'd say Carlisle to Morecambe or Accy and York to pools or vice-versa because what else do we all really have this season?

say will be one of the handful of possible games pools sell out the away end due to the total lack of teams we have, so yep it is a big game......be same when pools come to Brunton Park as they'll bring near 1,000.

plus for away fans of course you've about 4-5 trips which stand out for being only 2 hours or less away.

This Liverpool game is our season in 90 or so minutes. We aren't going to pull up any trees in the league and we'll probably go out of the JPT against Port Vale so we might as well get thousands of (mostly armchair/plastic) fans hammered at Anfield, earn a load of money and make the most of it. I can't say I'm really fussed about beating Hartlepool any more than I usually am against other teams, just another day at the office really. Having said that if we win I will be gloating on here more than usual as I'm sure Hartlepool fans will be if they win.

Should bring one of the best gates of the season for both sides, and based on that aspect it's a win win situation for both sides too.

After last season it's league all the way for us.

Yeah, well done Carlisle and a fantastic away night for you to look forward to. If we look like having a decent season by November we can have a tilt at the FA Cup. In the meantime, it's points on the board that matters.

I said before Curle isn't really fussed about cups, and I still don't think he is, we rested some players yesterday, but then he smelt a win and threw Jabo, Kennedy and Troy on.

What that means for the Liverpool game though, I don't know, but I think the league will remain our priority. A good cup run can give morale a boost and I imagine he will view it in this way rather than treating it as a big match in and of itself.

Wasn't being wholly serious, just some Pools on here were claiming this was our big game, cup final etc.
It will be one of our bigger games of the season, but not the biggest.

I hope we win, we need to get our first win of the season and build upon a great result last night.

Yeah, Ronnie smelt defeat at 3-0 down so took of Big Fat Billy, Woodsy and Oates.. We've lost this so let's look at the weekend. Good management. In our case a run out for a couple of fringe players hoping to impress.

I haven't seen that Mr Cufc. Yes it's a big game and means a lot to both teams but apart from that it's just a League 2 fixture. It'll have a cup final atmosphere at 2.55pm on Saturday for sure.

If we play like we did at Loftus Road last night, and we'll win this match. That's a big if though. We rarely put in back to back good performances.

Yeah it wasn't a full strength QPR side, but we still made 4 changes and rested Jabo. We just played really really well with the ball and worked very hard without the ball.

Last night was my most enjoyable away match in a long time, no negative away tactics, just proper attacking football.

Gutted to be missing saturdays match, but hopefully we can take confidence from last night and tame the Bingham.

He's been decent so far, been used as a centre back and right wing back already. He has made a few mistakes, but he's been solid.

Very much like him as a wing back, he gets up the pitch a lot. We've been shit defensively and there were a couple of times he was put in as centre back in poor performances, but its hard to single him out for the goals we conceded when Grainger danger on the left of the defence is doing such a good job of leaving the door open.

Woods out Walker out Paynter doubtful .....Plan C in place , probably means Bingham leading the line ... Carlisle fans , be afraid ....very afraid
I'm shitting myself. I was kind of relying on the selfless Bingham turning up to try to get Paynter his dream goal. But now Bingham will be doing it all himself, I'm worried.

Charlie Wyke is out of saturdays match with a foot injury.

That's a bit of a blow for us. I had him down for a hattrick.

That's a shame, he's started the season reasonably well and probably would've started at the weekend.

Guess we'll just have to rely on Jabo to score 6, oh well.
